You are absolutely right! I've bought a potential 1,000+ hours of games with some simple clicks. Although I'll probably only play about half of the games though. Thank goodness I migrated across from PS3 to PC. These sales are ridiculously cheap!

I've just started using Wrye bash patch and can see in TES5Edit there are a lot of changes I need to make so that IP soldiers don't carry 3 swords and 2 bows, Thalmor don't have 2 sets of armor, wolves stop dropping loot, spell books with vendors, etc. I'm ok to edit the bashed patch, but it is my understanding that every time I update my load order I need to rebuild the patch which would negate all the tweaking I need to do. Is there a simple work around I can use instead? What am I missing? Can I relev or delev certain items in other mods? Should I uncheck automatic when building the patch to get things to work together better? All feedback welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

Personally I like nesbits tpos series and particulary because he puts considerable thought and social reasoning into his mods. His goal is to link all of his mods together with quests and a social fabric and level of interaction. He is currently working on voicing NPC's instead of just the vanilla voices. I like his merged Whiterun mod the most https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54223/? However I pretty much use all of them particulary the Dawnstar and Solitude ones. They all merge easily into one esp with no problems. I don't use Riverwood (too busy already) and Winterhold will conflict with ETaC. Oh and I use all of REGS with no conflicts so far (except Winterhold). -

I'll let you know how the Morthal walls look, promise. Thanks for volunteering!!!! Tea-mo-sabe ROFL!!! Love it. -
Are these mods and patches you have made that you want to test or have you just added mods to your game? There is a distinction but I'm not sure which one you are asking. If it is the later then I never test and just jump in and play - which is a good test anyway. If something doesn't work then I do some tweaking along the way. But that's just me. Cheers.

Thanks for the links. I hadn't heard of them before and the two dungeon packs and Solstheim dungeons look quite good. To answer your question, the comments about the rogue scripts in the Wheezes dungeon and CTD's in the Explorer Dungeon make me think twice before downloading. I can't speak for everyone though. So I'll wait patiently for redirishlord to test and report back :) -

+1 for the GTX760 / 4GB. I've found this to be a great card. Your setup is similar to mine that I built 3 months back. I'm not a techie so had the advice of someone who is. The RAM (2x8GB) needed to match the Motherboard, not just in size but in speed/power? This wasn't something I knew about. I didn't install a sound card and relied on the i7-4770 built in sound. Whilst this is good for music and videos hooked up to the 5.1 surround, it will only play games in stereo. This is my experience anyway so the next thing for me is a soundcard. I went with a 650W PSU. Cooling shouldn't be an issue as the GTX760 has plenty of fans (3 I think) as does the coolermaster case. You'll now get to play Skyrim with a controller :) -

New wave of Nexus Endorsements
Teabag86 replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Did you know that as part of the new update Premium Access can now be donated to the mod author? The donor also gets 1/4 of the premium access as well. I really like the new reminder. I'm usually very good at endorsing mods but a couple sometimes slip through the cracks. If a mod stays in your load order then it should be endorsed IMO. I filter all my searches by most endorsed so I think this is pretty important. -

Thanks I'll keep that one in mind. I think I'm in for a big shock as it is. Thank goodness for UFO! Although I'll probably have to set any follower to essential. Normally I'm ok to let them die - quite realistic. But since installing DD any sign of a dragon was an instant death sentence for a follower. Ha ha - can't wait! -
Bashed Patch does more harm than good?
Teabag86 replied to beej175560's question in Wrye Bash Support
I've just started using bashed patches and have delayed this long because I can't understand how a mod like CCOR and WAF can be bashed if their role is to change the vanilla and other mod records. To my thinking a bashed patch would just merge the data which is wrong. I ran my first batch patch this week and all my immersive patrol NPC's have 3 weapons and 2 sets of armor. I've got some work to do to get this right :( Happy to hear any ideas? Edit* Ok, after some further reading I now have a better understanding of delev and relev. Plus a kind soul has advised that I can check the patch in TES5Edit which will certainly be a big help. I'd still like to hear other peoples thoughts / experiences. -

@ Noobzor & Red. Ok! I'm about to enhance my normal setup (IP-agro, OBIS, SIC & DD) with DM, ASIS, HLE, SkyTEST and Duel. Better hold on tight I think I'm in for a hell of a ride! I'll leave Skytweak and DCO for another day. The heart can only take so much. I really appreciate your guidance. Noobzor, you mentioned MM. I don't know that one? -

@Red. Thanks. Do you unpack the BSA's prior to merging? That spider mod sounds cool. He is a quality dungeon designer so wear the brown pants when exploring :) I've only played FNV on console and the ending left me cold. I might have to try the modded PC version when I can tear myself away from Skyrim. It can go on the long list of steam downloads I've never played.... -

Thanks Red, that's really helpful. You've done a lot of ground work on the merging thing. Do you unpack the BSA's prior to merging? Another quick question for you since I see you use CCOR. I've just started using Wrye Bashed patches (newbie stuff, I know) and my bandits have 3 weapons each and sometimes 2 sets of armor. I read somewhere that CCOR uses a different method to place weapons on NPC's so i am wondering if I am doing something wrong with the bashed patch. Is there a trick to it? Yeah, Ogmunds tomb is quite good. I just downloaded his 2 other dungeons last night. Now that I have trashed all of my survival mods, I just need to get everything set for a new playthrough. -

Noobzor, I'd be interested if you use Wet & Cold, or did you remove that too? The reason I ask is that I clicked on a guard with the console open and he had all the breath and footsteps scripts running (about 6 I think) which makes me wonder about performance. I don't have any issues at the moment. But all those scripts on every NPC.... Also do you use Deadly Monsters? I'm thinking of giving that a run. But not sure if Sands of Time would be better.... EDIT* Actually would you mind posting your load order? I'm going to run with your whiteknuckle Skyrim experience and haven't too much experience with those style of mods. Thanks. -

Wow! That's a tough call. I've never considered that as I would list those mods (well similar anyway HB plus iNeed, Hypothermia) as essential. BUT now that you mention it I have added all the quest mods from REGS and haven't been able to finish any of them. Most I haven't even started! I'm spending too much time camping, cooking, eating, sleeping, etc. Incredibly immersive but I am getting nowhere, barely finishing quests, getting bored and then start a new character. I think a new playstyle is needed..... Thanks for the tip, I think a lightbulb just turned on somewhere! -

I think Nernies adds a heap of buildings to the outskirts of Whiterun (across from the stables). I downloaded all of the REGS city overhaul mods in one go. You can imagine the shock going from vanilla to super charged :) But I never know which is which unless I click on them with the console open. -

This looks like a great little mod. There is also a video which shows the changes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w43G2iwJi1I I doubt I'll be able to use it though with Dawn of Whiterun, Nernies, Better City Entrances, etc. The mod author will be working on patches in the future so you never know... -

Thanks for the tip on Ogmunds Tomb. I just downloaded and played it. It feels as though it was part of the original game. Perhaps even better! Thanks. I notice the mod author mentioned he has 2 other dungeons. Have you tried those? -

Surely you play with LAL? I just started using this mod and truly it is the best. I role play heavily in game and all my stories start with that damn carriage ride. But this has opened up so many backstory possibilities it is fantastic. Plus it saves time and throws you right in the action. -

Yes, there was a considerable amount of lobbying from the WCI users to find a solution. Since Grantboy no longer had a copy of ICoW V2, Skullmonkey posted it on his site. Grantyboy is doing some thorough testing on V2.4 including compatability with WCI so I'll wait a week or so for things to settle down before I download. But let me know how you go?
