  1. Just a quick Q regarding the leveled lists - "Remove all leveled lists that are installed with Weapons and armor fixes and Complete Crafting Overhaul" I'm not 100% sure on, is if this refers to the "Leveled List" section when rebuilding the bashed patch (both mods have multiple entries), or if it refers to the two names plugins that can also be merged into the patch... or possibly all of the above? Complete Crafting_TrueWeaponsLvlLists.espWeapons & Armor_TrueWeaponsLvlLists.esp
  2. Hahaha. Yeah. So maybe I have missed some of the rules from your packs. I scrolled through the Dovahkiin pack and got as far as the LOOT rules at the bottom and thought "hmmm... this bit of the guide doesn't actually look all that familiar". I'll go back through them all methinks, just to be sure. I'm clearly a little too keen to get to the good stuff i.e. playing it. Thanks for all the feedback dreadflopp, I'm off to RTFM.
  3. Ah, I do have TTRSO loaded earlier in the list; it's probably that. I'm tempted to give Ordinator a go though too. It looks like there could be some good stuff in there. One thing I wasn't too sure about is how LOOT handles modified/merged plugins. I've used BOSS until recently so I'm still getting to grips with LOOT. With BOSS, it obviously wouldn't recognise any non-standard esp names so you'd make your own load order rules in those situations. I've yet to see LOOT highlight any unrecognised plugins... is there still need for some manual intervention beyond the mods highlighted in the packs?
  4. Whoops! I've just spotted that CoT - Sounds is active in my load order, I'll scrap that first and see if I can still replicate that rather persistent bird. I did recently reinstall AOS with a few extra patches so I'll have a closer look at those and load order too. Thanks for offering to help, possibly a user error though! Yep, I'm using TTRSO, I disabled the attack fix speed yesterday.... and that may well be the answer. With the fix disabled, the bow draw is reeeeally slow, but with it active it seem fine (or possibly a little too fast - not sure what the default is like from recollection).
  5. Finally got the full MMO pack up and running - seems good and stable so far. I'm looking forward to the starting the first proper play through. I'm just trying to squish a few glitches at the moment - Bow draw speed: I created a new character yesterday that I've played for about 2 hours, but now that I'm loading the game up again, the bow draw speed takes a full 10 seconds to max out, similar to what you see below. There is a link posted in the same video that offers a fix of sorts, but it goes on to say that it may only work temporarily. Reloading doesn't clear it, and the same issue has cropped up with two different characters. Maybe a new arm-cramp feature? :D I also seem to get a certain bird call stuck on loop almost constantly - it's pretty shrill and is quite a bit louder than all other ambient sounds. It seems to stick with me at a constant volume throughout the whole Riverwood area until I duck into a cave or house. I can't actually tell if it's even a glitch of sorts, but I've never noticed it before. I assume AOS is the only file the modifies bird call and ambient sounds out of STEP Extended / MMO?
  6. No probs mate, thanks for all the work on the smaller MMO packs so far (and MMO in general). It's definitely a little easier to follow (and less intimidating) in this updated format. I'm pretty close to my first full MMO installation being complete... just Deleveled Loot and Survival to add. I hope the old 'puter remains up to the task!
  7. It looks as if the patch in your current Deleveled Loot file is missing the .esp extension. Is it safe just to add the extension manually?
  8. Vega Extended? Is that the one that states "DEVELOPMENT STAGE: ALPHA. DO NOT USE....pack cannot guarantee that you will be crash-free" ? If it's still the case that VEGA runs off STEP 2.2.7 and is unsupported, then it becomes a little more difficult to do the bug-squashing. VEGA (basic) was also designed to run with STEP Core if the comments in the original VEGA pack are anything to go (i.e. largely untested with SRLE), and the Extended guide isn't actually complete by an means, so a bumpy ride is perhaps to be expected. I was tempted to have a stab at the basic VEGA pack, but decided to go with a combination that's fully supported and up-to-date, because it means you really get to pick the brains of the people that are putting it together while it's a work-in-progress and add in your own comments to help with fine-tuning. I've had great success with Core/REGS/Requiem, and might start looking at Core/Regs/MMO now that it's out of WIP status. None of this helps you of course, so my apologies for waffling on, but personally I find Core + REGS to be an excellent and stable starting point. it might be worth trimming back to the VEGA:Core pack at least...
  9. You could try dropping back to an older version of ENB, such as 236 or 221 - https://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.html The Optimus/ddl fix seems to run into issues with more recent ENB releases, whereas the posts going back a few months seems to report a better success rate https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33227
  10. You may wish to ask on the forums that provide the HDT Physics mods - https://www.loverslab.com/forum/52-hdt-physics-extension/
  11. Aiyen - Thanks for the input on this one, you've clarified the issue for me here. Now that I think about it, one of the mods I was removing was Flora Overhaul by Vurt... which of course adds new meshes as well as new textures. In fact, if I recall, Step Core + Requiem seemed perfectly stable to begin with. It was perhaps only when adding in things like body mods and SIC that I noticed a few occasional CTDs, which would point towards the detailed meshes and extra NPCs being the issue. So, removing any of these (Vurt's, SIC etc) would naturally ease the load. It's pretty well documented that certain types of NPC mod can make a PC crumble, but I didn't consider the stuff that adds static/scenic meshes. It was definitely an issue that came about when changing cells or moving indoor to outdoor, and might explain why it appears that my new GPU is handling the load better. Anyways, I'll stop hi-jacking now :)
  12. Kuldebar - My own system specs are an i5 3570K, 8GB RAM, Samsung 840Pro SSD, MSI 780GTX. Quite interesting to note that you wouldn't expect highres textures to cause CTDs; maybe I need to go back and check my SSME/ENBoost settings. It was quite noticeable how the stability (regarding those occasional CTDs) changed when moving from the 660 to the 780, even though the older GPU has otherwise been rock solid since it was installed. Maybe it just doesn't want to play Skyrim anymore :/ Alone? Of course not. As you say, it has some uses if you're trying to smooth out some frame rate issues, but anecdotally, a reduction of CTDs seemed to accompany a leaner selection of textures in my case. I guess it might have been a driver or hardware issue (or memory management), but it worked for me all the same. And yeah, ASIS turned a previous installation of mine in an entertaining mess.
  13. The panel on the left could be considered your mod installation order, which is vital for getting Step running exactly as intended. The mods listed here should (for the most part) match the order of whichever guide you're following. Also, the VEGA pack is specifically designed with Step Core 2.2.7 in mind, and is no longer supported. Running VEGA without any Step installation also kinda defeats the purpose of the guides on here, and may alone throw up problems and force you to do quite a bit or troubleshooting yourself. Not trying to sound negative by any means, but there's good reason for following a guide to the very letter until you're able to muddle through off your own back.
  14. I've previously narrowed down my own random CTDs to how my rig is handling the big texture packs. Try not to rule anything out until you absolutely know. It may not be a performance issue in the typical sense - we all know that most games running on a low-end machine will simply run badly, but often without any crashes. Planetside 2 on my old machine could hit 10fps in the beta test, but it never crashed once. It's more how a heavily modded Skyrim can simply start to show some natural limitations on a given system. I found that once my VRAM use was up into the upper 3/4 on my 660ti (approx 1.7gb out of 2gb), the CTDs would creep in without actually hitting the upper limit. Having a 'perfect' and correct mod installation without any conflicts doesn't guarantee a working game. 'Tis the nature of the beast.Out of curiosity, trying deactivating the likes of Flora Overhaul / SRO / Serious HD or any of the other big texture packs, and carry on playing for a day or so. Deactivate the ENB if needed too. My game became 100% stable once I did this, so either texture optimization or simply deactivating a few texture heavy mods was a viable fix. For me though, my crashes were almost entirely external, where I would expect VRAM use to spike from time to time. Still, it might help you rule out one possibility. You could also trying deactivating your mods that add/modify NPCs, such as SIC, OBIS and ASIS.On a completely personal note, I've recently invested in a 780GTX, and this runs everything I can possibly throw at it without batting an eyelid, including a mods list + ENB that would make my 660ti CTD frequently and at random. That's not to say my 660ti was insufficient or faulty, just that a modded Skyrim can be a flaky and temperamental swine.
  15. Are you trying to launch SKSE via MOD Manager? MO should be pointed at your skse.exe file via the "edit > Modify Executable" tab in MO. The use of BOSS isn't perhaps 100% vital at the start because there aren't many esp files running in the really stages, mostly just fixes and textures, but there's no reason not to use just to make sure the load order isn't breaking something. It's a good habit to get into. STEP is much easier to run through if you're as methodical as possible, so run BOSS at each benchmark step (again making sure it runs via MO and not by itself). Are you starting with Step Core only (i.e. everything with a green mark on the left)? Ignore all the files that aren't strictly marked as part of the Core install. For example, the DDsopt guide is not part of Step Core (not green marked), so you can and should ignore this until the Core install is working as slick as a greased ferret. It's worth taking some time to go through the guides for Mod Organizer too, as this should remove any need to reinstall the game. Make absolutely sure that you followed each step of, erm, STEP to the letter. Read and re-read additional instructions even if they seem fairly arbitrary. The basic fixes shouldn't have any major negative impact on the game if installed correctly (same goes for the whole guide), so you've definitely gone awry somewhere... and apologies if I've gone over stuff you already know! It's safest to start at the beginning :) edit - As for the CTD, make sure your STEP patch isn't active in MO while you run through the guide...
  16. An ENB with some/any of the heavy-hitters turned on (DoF / Ambient Occlusion etc) can make most PCs go into flick book mode on top of a reasonable mod list. If I switch from a performance .ini to a 'max graphics' .ini it will drop my average FPS from about 45-50 down to 30 or less (Step Core + Requiem). If I add the REGs pack and run with a fairly meaty ENB, I can hear my 660TI squeal in pain at certain points on the map.
  17. The forum search function is your friend; enter "moonpath" at the top and you'll seem some relevant discussion, such as this from CJ (near the bottom of his post).
  18. Hey noobzor, check your PMs mate.
  19. Nope. Requiem and Skyre are both major overhauls, and both are very different in how they're put together. Out of interest, if I load both of them in Mod Organizer (Requiem Core + Skyre Main), there are well over 200 conflicting files, be it meshes, textures, scripts or animations.
  20. Possible dumb question: If I'm adding REGS to an existing mod list such as Step + Requiem Core, is it recommended to start a new game? Edit - Basically, I'm trying to do some extended CTD squashing, so it'd be nice if I could play a character for the next few weeks without having to start afresh when I add REGS back in...
  21. On a different note - It looks like there are a few small fixes needed to the Requiem patch for ETaC. I've been having problems with duplicated doors at Dawnstar that have been driving me to the brink of insanity in my attempt to narrow down the cause (and part of the reason I had dropped ETaC for a while). Jenna has spotted a few things she missed from Requiem patch in the recent update, so there should be a further update soon if anyone is having issues.
  22. I'm not sure that it does. From reading the patch description after a recent install, the RRR+NSutR patch is there to deal with a small incompatibility between RRR & NSutR i.e. both mods are running in the REGS pack. The ETaC patch for NSutR should still be needed if running both ETaC and No Snow.
  23. Yeah, I'll give it another shot. I've been having a few issues with out-of-places meshes and flashing textures - hopefully just load order issues. I'll see if the userlist update does the trick. CJ - Thanks for the guide update and the clarification on the current state of the pack. REGS is fast becoming a vital part of my current setup.
  24. Thanks Keithinhanoi, that makes sense. I might just leave ETaC out of my REGS profile for just now and keep an eye out for further updates.
  25. Step Core or Extended (currently 2.2.8 - your 2nd link) should always be the starting point for anyone new to these guides. They are the basis that all other packs and guides are built on. Once you have spent some time getting a stable Core or Extended installation up and running, then you might look at Neovalen's guide or any of the other packs. Your first link does say that the SR:LE guide is for advanced users and is still a work-in-process, so it might not be an easy place to start. You can add UNP armour and body mods + to a Core/Ext installation in a seperate profile from Core/Ext if you want. With Mod Organizer you can have as many profiles as you like, and it's worth taking some time to get most out this excellent program. I have profiles for Step Core 2.2.8, Step Extended, Extended + Requiem + REGS plus a few others that I'm toying with for my own fun. Start with Core 2.2.8 and then see how you get on. You can easily add to it in a seperate profile later.
