GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
hishutup replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
I have a grudge against DDSopt, I think its fairly pointless but hey everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just refuse write anything about it in the guide. The highest amount of VRAM I have seen Oblivion use is around 1.6GB, most modern cards have >2GB VRAM. -
I disagree with it being the worst, its actually one of the better in my opinion. You can delete the bloatware via PowerShell. If you search for it, you'll find that there are several tutorials out there. I deleted pretty much everything that came with windows that was a metro app(sadly one cannot delete Edge). As for the spying that windows does, its not 100% atypical of companies to do this. Apple does this way more than you think, they're just quiet about it. Corona, is something I disable because I am a PC user and I can type faster than its "search". As for the memory thing, why are people SOOO worried about 100MB, 16GB is typical of systems today. I much rather have higher ram usage verses pagefile. For me personally, linux is higher maintenance, which is not something I look for in a computer.

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

OHHH, I think github is outdated... I was trying one of mator's newest scripts that he just wrote and I completely forgot he add those functions. You can choose to overwrite or not, it doesnt matter because I dont think anyone is using those functions yet. However, I may be switching to his mxpf script as a proof of concept. -
XD I didnt know that you could right click that. I always used the link on the ribbon on the My Computer window.

I wouldnt hold your breath, there is a lot still to do. -
I immediately disabled UAC because it annoys the ____ outta me. The forced updates is unwanted and should be toggle-able because I get really tired when programs suddenly break for no apparent reason. As for the bloatware, I am totally with you, Im on a PC, I have no need for an app to handle mail. There is a way to delete those apps in powershell IDE, even though this is specifically for xbox app there is a line that lists all the current apps Control panel is still a thing, they just made it super hard to find.

Trust me, I had my reasons. :P I don't remember the number precisely but I remember it being stupid low. I can do the BCFs, they're fairly easy. -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: Gateway to Oblivion WIP

I have not tested it nor do I intend on using it in Oblivion because Bash takes care of a good number of the small plugins. Its not that I dont trust it, its that I do not see a reason for it. If I was going to incorporate anything like that, it would be the standalone version because well, its better. -

When you unpack them, they are easier to edit and that is pretty much it. MO operates in a similar fashion. The downside is that it has a greater waiting time to refresh the installers but I have users disable the auto refresh and ask them to manually do it and another small downside is that it takes up more room. -

You will likely get a significantly better framerate compared to myself because you have an intel, even though I have a 970 :/ I remember it killing my fps, from 50ish to like 20 for no reason and I doubt that has changed because its the same engine. Im hoping that ramdisk will improve it. -

Switching to LOOT should greatly decrease the number of required rules. Really AEVWD is something I would like to include but the frames, its too much but that is my hardware, what is yours like, what do you recommend? shadeMe is cool but it visually conflicted with something, I just cant remember what it was. -

If something goes horribly wrong(unlikely but possible) and someone reinstall Obivion, they would have to reclean the files. I dont know about you but I find this annoying.. This is also the way it would be done with MO when someone updates the plugin so that it works with the steam version and the OBSE dlls *hint* *hint* -

I believe I bring good news, BCFs actually work in Wrye's beta. Im thinking about using it for the guide because BCFs will help out with some installs like the dreaded QTP3. For OR's RAMDisk, I think it would need to be a sub guide for advanced users. Basically short and to the point. Its not that hard to setup but can be a pain when closing. -

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
hishutup replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Currently its the same as what it on github, but I can almost say that you can use any version because the only function that I use is StrEndsWith() which I think has been around for quite some time. I could even remove the requirement by adding the function into the code. -
