  1. Yeah, I've already got my setup ddsopt'd. Is there any limit to how many AV packs to use, or can I just bat crap crazy and get everything? Probs just gonna use the main ones on AV page and maybe starx Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  2. Awesome. I was using AV, ASIS, and the full SkyRe installation but I just couldn't get my game stable. Now that it's good, and the enb has started working on memory issues I think it's time to start adding them back in Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  3. Got my skyrim running good and strong. "touch wood" no CTD's only the very occasional freeze. Just wondering is it safe to add automatic variant half way through a playthrough? I stopped using it due to the memory issues and a very u stable game, but now with the new enb and it's tweaks, and some very good tes5editing I got a rock solid game. And want to add this back in without restarting Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  4. Real clouds would do just that, but unfortunately it needs to mature. The screens host of it are amazing, and the with it is very impressive. But imho it needs work. Causes a few issues like white aliasing outlines on trees and overly bright for etc Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  5. The Z-fighting tweaks were a set of initiatives tweaks designed to stop the long distance texture flickering you sometimes get in the great outdoors, they pushed back a bunch of distances but caused frequent infinite load screens, no matter how much you molded or how good your system was. Best not to use them Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  6. Z-fighting tweaks...... Find them and remove them Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  7. WOOHOO!!! 64bit fallout 4 maybe? Ooo! Ooo! Ooo! Perhaps Bethesda could finally get around to updating and upgrading this ancient piece of skunk poop they call a game engine Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  8. I know this is sacrilege but thank jeebus for the ps4 and Xbox one. x86 and big ram for games from now on. And less cross platform reductions to give us with true gaming rigs something to play with Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  9. I know! It makes no sense at all.... The only thing I can think of is SkyRe and the quotsafans patches.... Been using SkyRe so long now I refuse to play without it and I know it can cause ALOT of gremlins in the cogs. As I said above, I was running without SMIM for a while coz I just couldn't get the game to run with it. Only reason I found this out was coz I forgot to delete the esp after the latest update Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  10. A while ago I was running without SMIM because I found the game ran better without it. Now I'm thinking it was just this issue. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  11. So..... According to step, and Neovalen. When installing SMIM you don't need the main esp, only the 2 add on esp's are needed. You should delete it as it's made obsolete by the uskp. So can anyone explain to me why when I forgot to remove it on my latest playthrough I managed 25 hours of game play without a single stutter, freeze, or ctd. But when I took it out and started fresh game to test I got 2 ctds and several crashes in the first hour... My game is quite heavily nodded with SkyRe, most of SR and a good few extra mods. All have been checked in tes5edit, and the relevant patches made. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta

  13. Thanks for answers you've given me. After a few long long hours staring at CK and pulling out hair, I've given up on my idea. I've realised that even if I can get the courier (was trying to revive the one in the mod) and therefore make the mod start up at a later point there would still be the mesh issues that you've mentioned. Damn fine mod though sir! Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  14. 255 is the maximum. I had this a while back. Just use tes5edit and create a merged patch for all the SR patches.... Just load them all up, expand each one, and select the item eg cells or dialogue..... The right click "deep copy as override into..." that should free up a good 15-20 esp slots for ya Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  15. Your using SkyRe right? I think ive already told you about https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=2252 that guide. But one thing its has changed is it removed a skyre skript fix. I don`t understand why they removed it coz its NOT included in quotsafans patches nor is it fixed in SkyRe itself.....The error causes alot of xxxmagicsneak script spamming in the papyrus logs, and thats the reason why you get freezes during combat... Heres the thread.....https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=2523 Heres the fix.....https://www.mediafire.com/download/iw1pijrw51kzn0m/SkyRe_Script_Fix_v1.2.esp BUM setting - Bottom > SkyRe
  16. Nope, boss for the load order and bum to tweak it. Theres nothing else to worry about. I do want to know myself what ppl are saying about water and blood, coz im sure i`ve DDSopt those myself. and havn`t had any issues with them. Just reffer back to my post on pg7. Its got my DDSopt choices, and the list of know freeze points. They were freezing for me, untill i got my load order sorted out. But since then i have gone through and changed a few things, but i posted my latest load order earlier for you. Just remember, no stupid ini tweaks, and a new game. You should be fine. As for SkyRe.....https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=2252 You dont have to use the extra stuff, but its got some good info in it......im also using skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=37605 instead of the FCqt tweaks
  17. Best thing to do IMHO, is DDSopt your mods, make sure you`ve got all of the SR patches, take out little mods that dont really do alot, such as birds of skyrim, wet n cold, footprints, etc. Use only the ini settings in SR guide. Don`t bother with any sudo-science tweaks for optimizing the game etc, they dont work. And most important....get your load order sorted, then start a new game! all the scripts from old mods, the changes they make, adding new things into old saves etc....never ever good
  18. Just try taking off AV, and load a fresh game up into Markarth home, set convienient horses to 1000% extra stamina and 100% speed. Run to the know freeze point and keep going all the way to whiterun. Then turn round and run to falkreath to test the other known freeze point. This is how i was testing my game when setting it up and making this thread. It only takes about 20 mins from starting character to test both of these points (in 1 run through) p.s. your not using any of the z-fighting tweaks are you? they tend to screw things up
  19. I removed SMIM and it fixed ALOT of my freezes, but now im using it again. But im not using AV, coz it does add alot of stress to the outdoors... Heres my current mod list...All have been DDSopt`d to the settings in my other post
  20. yeah, just make sure the AV files in "overwrite" are deleted first. Optimize the files in mods folder then re-run AV. Just to make sure AV uses the new optimized files
  21. Even DDSopting mods to the size they already are can help. The amount of textures that arn`t optimized fully is amazing. Try doing all of your mods at 2048x2048 first. (it wont upscale anything just sets the MAX size to 2048x2048) Do "The big 3" at 1024x1024 - SRO, Skyrim HD, Serious HD, Failing that, do your mods with half sized normals. Honestly. you wont notice any difference in quality, but you will notice a dramatic drop in RAM usage
  22. Best thing i can think of is, just bite the bullet and remove AV. I dont use it myself. With all the extra creatures and things added to the outdoors, as phazer11 says, its ALOT. I just found that having a shed load of extra textures and a complex mod running just to decide which of the 13 textures to use on that 1 wolf (of which there are 5800 in the area) to use. The benefit of not using it far outweighed the benifit of having a few different coloured creatures
  23. Thinking about it lvl, days, and quest completion requirement could be too much...... If i just go with days passed and quest completed....i could use the greybeards quest. And have my initial note saying something like... "OMG asif its really the dragonborn.....Asif you are actually like really here, and you seen the dragon at Helgen init bruv...Someone be lookin for ya, and they`re gonna be heading to the drunken huntsman. Go there now or else"
  24. Thats pretty kool. I might just do that... I was thinking lvl 15 coz mod author recommends lvl 20 due to the combat etc, etc. lvl 10 might be better as default setting, but i like that. Let ppl set their own. It would still only activate, after the dragon rising, and 4 days passed though yeah?
  25. Oh i have no doubt it would be the simplest. But i figure whle im doing this, i might as well add something to give a reason for why you suddenly gained this book, and quest at lvl 15. Thanks for the node bits. Im just in the process of setting up the courier now. Ive found a tutorial for setting up a 3 stage courier quest. So my plan -Get courier to find me, at lvl 15 only if Dragon rising has been completed. -Read note saying "Someone is looking for me, with great urgency. Please goto The Drunken Huntsman and wait for him to find you" -Set quest marker for a chair and once sat down quest completes -First quest of HR starts, given the book, and everything carries on from there.
