  1. I really hope it isnt Win 8.1. I really dont wanna downgrade, but if i cant play games then i might have too. Windows 8 hasn't been too bad. once i figure out you need to set most programs to run as admin. I have all of the Skyrim tools/progs running as admin anyway. Tommorrow im gonna try a few things......reset everything to stock values.... and im going to try a lil "i cant defrag a dam SSD trick".....namely copy the entire drive....reformat it and copy everything back. It.s not a script issue, as far as i can tell.....my papyrus logs dont have VM freezing. I can see exactly whats happening....after a few minutes of play....the game begins to twitch when new items are popping in at the edge of the ugrids.....then the game freezes and stutters as they load in and it continues this way...off and on...The grass just doesnt load up in new cells and can take upto a minute to reappear. I used to get similar effects when i was more heavily modded on a plain old HDD but when i upgraded to my SSD it fixed all that. My thinking is that with the all the installing.upgrading, deleting, and general usage my SSD is past the point that it NEEDS a defrag, but as they cant be defrag'd im gonna copy everything off it....reformat the drive thoroughly....and copy everything back on. Its a linux trick for ext3/4 partitions, but im hoping it might work for the SSD. I will have a check with the ConHorses script delay tool, and have a quick run with Skyrim PerfMon, and post the results up.
  2. Hey guys, getting really REALLY annoyed with my PC. Ive recently reinstalled my PC upto win 8.1. I have 2 SSD's, one with windows (60GB M4) and one with all my games on (250GB M500). Skyrim has had a full reinstall, but my mods i left as they were. My PC i5 2500K @ 4 GHz 8GB Dominator RAM ASUS GTX 670 4GB For some reason, since updating to windows 8.1 my game is getting some really sluggish loading ingame.....You knwo when you do a stress test....player.setav speedmult 500.....and you run arounbd for ages the world starts to take a while to catchup with you.....takes a few seconds before the grass/trees and sometimes if you run stupidly fast buildings and rocks to appear. I am using SKSE 1.7a, everything has been cleaned etc. I just want to make clear, that this was not an issue when i was on windows 7. I was even running more mods than i am now. Well im getting that when running at normal speed, from the bridge at the meaqdery, to the Western Watchtower. I mean REALLY bad. By the time im at the tower.....there are no trees, no grass, only LODS. And your talking 30 seconds or more before things BEGIN to load up. I've loaded my game up through Mod Organizer on vanilla. No mods at all, and my game runs perfectly well. I can sprint at speedmult 1200 without issue. This leads me to decide that it's either one fo my mods, or something else. I have gone through my mod list and removed a fair few mods. I've taken out as many texture mods as i can. I even loaded my game up with no texture mods at all and it still happened. All i had loaded were gameplay mods. So im thinking that its just the sheer amount of mods i have are taking a while to load up. but then why wasnt it an issue on windows 7? I have also noticed that on windows 7, with the new SKSE, my RAM usage would hit abour 5-6GB in game, but now it never goes above 4GB. (again the onloy thing that hass changed is windows, teh PC is still the same, the mods are actually less) Is there something about windows 8.1 thats causing my SSD to load slowly? I have all my drivers/firmwares updated. This is just getting rediculous, i cant run 100yrds without cell load stutter. This is not an ENB problem. I load my game with ENB off and i still get it plugins.txt modlist.txt loadorder.txt Skyrim.ini SkyrimPrefs.ini
  3. Calling all mod authors.....help. Firstly this is a non-step question, but i dont know where else to ask. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I have been given permission by Outlaw666 to create a Leveled List patch for the mod Sniper Bows Pack -Â https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50528/? I have already made a SkyRe patch for it. And now im looking to make a leveled list patch. I've spent most of the day trying my googlefu, but its no good. Been looking at the CK for a while and i think i can do it pretty simply, by just adding the new bows to the already existing "LItemWeaponBow" list from the vanilla game. But i wanna check: 1 - Will this work? Will the new bows be found randomly throughout the game? 2 - Will this add the bows to the vendor lists aswell? Or do i need to edit/create another list? 3 - Does anyone know of a decent tut/guide for my purpose that i can read? Thanks
  4. After updating to the latest skse, and fixing a few issues with that. I began having this probkem again. Sometimes it would bounce and sometimes it wouldnt. Still using EWI's ini files, and E ENB. But after some messing around, i found that by turning off ImmersiveFP and Face to Face it went away....5 starts and not a single bounce....figured out that ImmFP and face to Face dont play well together, and decided to leave out F2F for now. See how that goes.
  5. So after spending all day and many brain cells getting this sorted out, all i had to do was add "-forcesteamloader" to the shortcut???? Well why the didnt the SKSE guys put that in the "whats new" file? It took someone to pick apart the source code to find it? After they said they would not be making skse non-steam ever. Pfft....now im upset :P
  6. OMFG! REALLY?!?!?! Well atleast i got this sorted Where, on here? or nexus
  7. Well, had I known that I would not have spent the past hour getting Visual Studio working and rebuilt my own skse_loader :P If you could find that command again that would be awesome, plus it'll help others if we can get someone to put a sticky about it somewhere.
  8. 1. I dont still have it, i was just using the ini sent to me by another poster. 2. It doesnt matter because the problem is that skse wont read the ini file. 3. I have found out what the problem is...Im using a non-steam setup. And as such the skse_steam_launcher.dll isnt running. So in order to get it working skse has to be patched to run without steam. 3.1 - https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=4646&pid=63950#pid63950 3.2 - https://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=45776#p45776 My new MemoryLog logging of blocks enabled logging max values only Timer disabled Block1 Block2 512MB 256MB 85 8 85 8 85 9 85 10 85 11 85 12 85 13 SORTED! WOOHOO!!!! I think there should be a sticky or a mention about this somewhere in the forums. I've been sat here since 10am (Now 5pm) looking for answeres to this, ive signed upto and looked at so many forums im going blind. But finally i have the answer. Thank god someone uploaded their own skse_loader.exe.....Otherwise i'd have to learn to use visual studio to get this wokring.
  9. i know MO can be a bugger.....so i installed skse directly into skyrim install folder, now MO has nothing to do with skse other than hooking to it to run the game, ini files and everything are in the main folder. But still no avail. I've emailed the skse team asking them if they know whats up. Doubt ill get a reply but worth a shot
  10. ssme works, but if i try and change the values it CTDS on startup But atleast it works. Thing is though, if my game isnt reading my skse.ini with either 1.6.16 or 1.7alpha then how long has it been happening, is it gonna continue to happen and why does it happen? Theres has to be something causing it
  11. Nope still not working
  12. Tried, and no luck Re-installed skyrim only the other day. Just been playing around in game trying to see what i can find.. GetINISetting ClearInvalidRegistrations returns ClearInvalidRegistrations >>> NOT FOUND I tested it with sLanguage to make sure the command wasnt to read the skyrim ini's and that didnt work either. So for some reason, SKSE is just incapable of reading the ini file...And i cant figure out why
  13. My SKSE [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 [Display] iTintTextureResolution=2048 [NotPlacebo] GiveFirstBornToSheson=1 [Memory] defaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 scrapHeapSizeMB=256 MemoryBlocksLog logging of blocks enabled logging max values only Timer disabled Block1 Block2 256MB 256MB 85 8 85 8 85 9 85 10 85 11 85 12 85 13 85 14 SKSE Log This shows that the SKSE folder is in the right place, coz all my plugins are working, the skse.ini is deffinately in the right folder SKSE Loader log skse loader 01070000 01CF20231B447072 6.1 (7601) runtime root = D:\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\ config path = D:\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\SKSE\skse.ini procPath = D:\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\\TESV.exe launching: TESV.exe (D:\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\\TESV.exe) dwSignature = FEEF04BD dwStrucVersion = 00010000 dwFileVersionMS = 00010009 dwFileVersionLS = 00200000 dwProductVersionMS = 00010009 dwProductVersionLS = 00200000 dwFileFlagsMask = 00000017 dwFileFlags = 00000000 dwFileOS = 00000004 dwFileType = 00000001 dwFileSubtype = 00000000 dwFileDateMS = 00000000 dwFileDateLS = 00000000 version = 0001000900200000 normal exe hook call addr = 00F56831 load lib addr = 0106B0B4 dll = D:\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\\skse_1_9_32.dll main thread id = 6272 remote memory = 001F0000 old winmain = 0069D1D0 launching Everything should be working fine. But it isn't And here you can see that my files are in the correct place, and it's deffinately a config ini not a .txt. Its asif the SKSE wont read the settings in the ini file
  14. Possitive. Explorer shows it as a Configuration file, not a txt file. I even remade it in notepad++ and maed sure to save as .ini I am now running SKSE directly from skyrim folder and nothing installed in MO. Tried with the ini file in MO, and in data/SKSE folder. But it just refuses to work. Running both TESV.exe and skse_loader.exe as administrator on Win7. Tried with them both set to normal aswell. Turned off my AV and Firewall to be sure. But it just refuses to read the ini file. 1.6.16 or 1.7alpha Im running Legendary edition if thats anything
  15. Question though......Are you most deffinately getting the memory alterations? Have you installed the Memory Blocks Log, and are you getting the values you want from your ini?
  16. Yes a no brainer....so why is it not working? I tried with the ini in every possible location i could think of. but no luck I've gone back to 1.6.16 and tried with sheson's updated skse_steam_loader.dll, and it wont work. The only way i can get it to work is with ssme...but that causes my game to CTD on load if i adjust the values. Been looking through the comments of Memory Blocks Log on nexus and it seems there are a few people that are having the same issue as me...With both the alpha 1.7 AND the 1.6.16 with the updated .dll For some reason some of us can't get any version of SKSE to read the ini file. Whether its put in MO or directly into the skyrim directory
  17. Hey guys, need help with this Using Mod Organizer and just updated to the SKSE 1.7 alpha. In my install directory i have put skse_loader.exe, skse_1_9_32.dll, skse_steam_loader.dll In Mod Organizer i have an SKSE folder which contains scripts folder from skse 1.7 and SKSE folder with skse.ini inside it. I've just started using the Memory Blocks Log by Sheson so i can fine tune the Memory Settings. When i check the MemoryBlocksLog.txt it says; logging of blocks enabled logging max values only Timer disabled Block1 Block2 256MB 256MB 85Â Â Â Â Â Â 8 85Â Â Â Â Â Â 8 85Â Â Â Â Â Â 9 85Â Â Â Â Â Â 10 85Â Â Â Â Â Â 11 This to me means that i havne't got the memory patch working. For some reason my game isn't reading the SKSE.ini....WHY????? In game i can see that im using SKSE 1.7 so it working fine, it just isnt reading the SKSE.ini from MO
  18. But there was nothing in there.... Saves (Empty) Logs (Papyrus) SKSE (logs) bash patch logs Render Info Ini's Out of all of those the only ones actually being used by the game, is the render info file. All the others are either made by the game, or not used. And i though render info was just created by the launcher and then used as refference. EDIT: I do wonder now just howe many of my previous fits of rage quit and restart could have been fixed this way
  19. OK IM SO DAM CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I fixed it.... Not by removing a mod Not from the full re-install i have just done Not by restoring the 60GB backup of my Mod Organizer folder (Thats 3 weeks out of date and missing all the new mods i chose) Not by tweaking the ini files Not by restoring Vannilla ini files But.... By deleting the entire Skyrim folder in My Documents and letting the Launcher rebuild it. This makes no sense. Because im not using the save files....Im starting fresh. The ini files are being used by Mod Organiser from its own profiles directory so its not those. The only things left are some log files, and the render info file.....It seems that somehow, the render info was causing my havok gen, to cause total havok ?!?!?!?! Im glad this is sorted now, but if someone out there could explain to me how the hell this has fixed it, I would gladly give you a beer
  20. Nope, that didnt work. Tried taking out the reproccer and all its patches too, but no luck. Just aswell MO has installation date on it....Im gonna try taking out all the mods installed/updated since it last worked and work from their. I have a sneaking suspicion its IA, but i haven't got a clue how it could be
  21. I've got my FPS limited to 60 with ENB, might try lowering it to 55 I have been having this issue for about a week now. I've tried thousands of combinations and remade my SUM patch so many times im seeing it in my sleep. Im possitive that its a conflict with one o my mods, but i really REALLY dont like the process of add one, try again, add one, try again, add one, try again, add one, try again, add one, try again, add one, try again, add one, try again, add one, try again, add one, try again................. Im hoping someone out there has had this issue or knows of a reason why it happens. Wil try lowering the FPS limit though. Report back in 2 mins
  22. So yeah, starting a new play through. As soon as the bethesda loga and skyrim crud goes, the cart at the very begining of the game is bouncing around all over the place. Sometimes the cart is ok but then the horse tries to walk through the cliff on the left hand side. Whats causing this? I have checked all my mods for compatibility issues. I am upto date on all of my mods. I have run FNIS, very last of all, after bashed patches and SUM. Before i begin the LONG LONG LONG arduous journey of turning mods on one by one... Does anyone know of any issues that can cause this? Is there something im missing? Are there any know mods that cause this issue? Here is my latest mod list I have been using SR as a base for my mod list and tweaking it to my liking. Im running Mod Organizer (NOT the latest beta) I know this is a big mod list, but i have had it running awesomely in the past. But with all the major updates to mods, I decided to start a fresh playthrough. Newly added mods are just alternate textures packs, Complete Crafting Remade, Clock Widget, and some newer SkyRe patches. As i say i've had my game running great for ages, but with the new Memory patches/SKSE version and all the updates, decided it was time to start from scratch. Im thinking that maybe IA v7 or CCOr could be causing this, but not directly. Possibly a conflict with another mod?
  23. I have already done that As i have said i re-downloaded the files and re-installed them all. And i still have this problem. The only thing that has changed between working and not working is that i re-installed Legendary edition However... I do use ENB Manager....and i turned off the ENB profile and there were a couple of random SweetFX files remaining..... I have no idea where they came from, but removed them, applied the ENB and BANG!!! Working fine. That was by far the easiest Skyrim issue i have ever fixed.....Now to hope my setup is stable and playable........speedmult here i come :P
  24. OK so history... Fully working installation os Skyrim......many mods.....ENB fully working..... Recent update to SKSE.....many mods updated..... Start new game from scratch and everything working fine.....a few crashes, so decide to re-install Retail Legendary Edition again to ensure clean game......All mod working through Mod Organizer so no need to do anything with that. Start new game and wierd ENB effects. The entire screen is brown, and i have letterbox effect....which was NOT active ever...im using E ENB. Yes, this is the first room of the opening scene. Hadvar is actually stood in the background :) This is deffinately an ENB issue, coz if I hit Shift+F12 the ENB turns off and the screen returns to normal vanilla. If i turn ENB on again, i get the same issue E ENB is a fantasy style enb. Saturated colours and absolutely NO letterbox. Its never had it i dont want it. I installed Realvision and it was exactly the same. So I checked and re-installed the enb and the .dll file from the enb website. I changed nothign in the .ini's and loaded the game the same thing. So i re-installed GPU driver...latest NON-BETA from nvidia 322.21 I dewffinately have the correct version of .dll and ENB files. enb helper is included in the E ENB download so is enbhost.exe. I am running with ewi's ini files and its also his ENB. floatpointrender etc etc are all set correctly. The only thing i have done between ENB working and NOT, is that i reinstalled my legendary edition. So what the hell is going on? I feel like i've forgotten to put a file somewhere or something. But i really haven't. dll is there, enbhost is there, enbhelper is there. all the required files are there. Its the exact same files as was there when it worked.
  25. I had this when i forgot to run FNIS before starting a new run through. The exact same place too. My character was stuck inside the drivers seat of the cart. No other NPCs to be seen anywhere and helgen gate would refuse to open when we got there. But i re-ran FNIS and it was all sorted
