ACCEPTED Enhanced Blood Textures (by dDefinder)
darqnite replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
@Vulgar1. Sorry to disappoint, I'm not even considering any EBT-like option; bloodletting, gratuitous or not, is not on my modding agenda. I am simply trying to save esp slots as and where I can; that is until I'm forced to learn how to merge them. -

@phryxolydian. Thank you very much, both for the super-fast response and for your words of wisdom. So much learned, so much more to learn. TY -

Like Vulgar1, I would like to know how I can remove EBT from my installation of Pack:STEP:Extended, not because of any CTD, ILS or freezing concerns, but because, for me at least, copious amounts of blood and twitching decapitated bodies don't "yield an overall more immersive experience" (to quote the STEP Mandate). Besides, if I can remove the 2 esp's, EBT and its DB+DG patch, from my Extended install, I could then replace them with 2 esp's that would give me a much more immersive and lore-friendly experience, which after all is the aim of this modding mire I now find myself in. -

@Smile44 - Thank you very much; your directions saved what little sanity I had left! My seeing RED instead of ORANGE didn't help much at all, I guess. -

Having come back to Skyrim modding, and specifically the Weather Pack, to update it to include RealisticNights, I, too, find that RealisticNights+COT+DB+DG.esp indicates missing masters in Wyre Bash. Using B.U.M., I organized my load order as you suggested, but that did not solve the problem. I also tried all combinations of RealisticNight Fmod install options, and all worked well except for RealisticNights+COT+DB+DG, AND RealisticNights+COT+DB, the latter of which could not find ClimatesOfTameriel.esm and dragonborn.esm. So, just like Vulgar1, ... In WyreBash, RealisticNights+COT+DB is the ONLY ONE which indicates that the CoT, DG and DB masters are missing. If I ignore WB's warning and create the Bashed Patch, Skyrim loads and seemingly plays OK; it certainly does not CTD during startup which is what I would expect with missing masters. Other than the following, I have no other mods installed: 1. STEP Core v2.2.8 2. STEP:Pack:Extended 3. STEP:Pack:Weather and Lighting [Weather ONLY so far] 4. Moon Phase Affects Brightness at Night (which I have confirmed does not affect the problem) [spoiler=My Load Order] # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer.Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmUnofficial Skyrim Patch.espDawnguard.esmUnofficial Dawnguard Patch.espHearthFires.esmUnofficial Hearthfire Patch.espDragonborn.esmUnofficial Dragonborn Patch.espSkyrim Project Optimization - No Homes - Full Version.esmClimatesOfTamriel.esmLanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esmHighResTexturePack01.espHighResTexturePack02.espHighResTexturePack03.espBrawl Bugs CE.espUnofficial High Resolution Patch.espWeapons & Armor Fixes_Remade.espMorning Fogs.espRainbows.espSplashofRain.espADS.espAOS.espAOS2_WAF Patch.espBWS.espClimatesOfTamriel-Sound.espDragonShoutVoice.espIHSS.espImproved Combat Sounds v2.2.esprandomthunder.espThundering Shouts.espmintylightningmod.espMintyLightningMod_COT_Patch.espSMIM-DungeonsCliffsIceSkirts.espSMIM-FarmhouseFlickeringFix.espSMIM-ShackRoofFixes.espSMIM-ShackRoofFixesDragonborn.espTradeBarter.esp83Willows_101BUGS_V4_LowRes.espArs Metallica.espArs Metallica - Dawnguard.espArs Metallica - Hearthfire.espArs Metallica - Dragonborn.espAuto Unequip Ammo.espBirdsHFclean.espBLESSINGS - Altar Descriptions.espBring Out Your Dead.espClamsDropPearls.espDead Body Collision.espDisease Descriptions.espDD_Dawnguard Additions.espDD_Dragonborn Additions.espDual Sheath Redux.espDungeonQuestAwareness.espfFastTravelSpeedMult_4.espmanny Lantern Caretakers.espMore Salt Please.espMore Salt Please - Dragonborn addon.espMoss Rocks.espMoss Rocks_DB.espORM-Arvak.espPilgrimsDelight.espPoint The Way.espRabbitsPlus.espRadiant and Unique Potions Poisons and Booze.espShootingStars.espSkyrim Flora Overhaul.espSkyrimImprovedPuddles-DG-HF-DB.espSMDropLitTorch.espTraps Make Noise.espWetandCold.espWetandCold - Ashes.espChesko_LoreBasedLoadingScreens.espFootprints.espFootprints - Ash.espNoxUE2.00.espRaceMenu.espRaceMenuPlugin.espSkyUI.espiHUD.espElemental Staves.espExplosiveBoltsVisualized.espImproved Closefaced Helmets_Legendary.espComplete Crafting Overhaul_Remade.espLock Overhaul.espGildergreen Regrown.espRun For Your Lives.espWhen Vampires Attack.espThe Paarthurnax Dilemma.espSkyrimCoinReplacerRedux.espAppropriately Attired Jarls Redux.espBetterQuestObjectives.espBetterQuestObjectives-Dawnguard.espBetterQuestObjectives-Hearthfire.espBlockSparkles.espDistant DetailHF.espDiversePriests.espdynamic fires.espSkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB.espGuard Dialogue Overhaul.espAOS2_GDO Patch.espConvenient Horses.espdD - Enhanced Blood Main.espdD-Dragonborn-Dawnguard-EBT Patch.espSoul Gems Differ - E.espTheChoiceIsYours.espTheChoiceIsYours_Dawnguard.espThieves Guild Requirements.espBetterQuestObjectives-ThievesGuildRequirementsPatch.espaMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.espBetterQuestObjectives-AMBSkyforgePatch.espChesko_Step418_SN.espOblivion Gates v3 without Markers - Skyrim + Dawnguard DLC.espMPAB.espClimatesOfTamriel-Dawnguard-Patch.espClimatesOfTamriel-Dragonborn-Patch.espSupreme Storms - Cot Version.espExpandedSnowSystems-CoT.espCoT-WeatherPatch.espCoT-WeatherPatch_DB.espCoT-WeatherPatch_Snow-40.espCoT-WeatherPatch_SupStorms.espCoT-WeatherPatch_ESS.espRealisticNights+COT+DB+DG.espRealisticNights-COTWP-SS-ESSpatch.espRealistic Nights NightEyePredatorVision.espRealisticNights torches magic lights.espRealisticNights-MPABpatch.espBFSEffects.espDeadlySpellImpacts.espDual Wield Parrying_SKSE.espdD-No Spinning Death Animation.espBeards.espBrows.espSPTConsistentOlderPeople.espmoveitLWT.espNonEssentialChildren.espdD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.espAnimated Weapon Enchants.espDawnguardRuneWeaponsFXSReplacer.espRealisticWaterTwo.espAOS2_RealisticWaterTwo Patch.espRealisticWaterTwo - Legendary.espSTEP Extended Patch.espDual Sheath Redux Patch.espBashed Patch, 0.esp Do I just ignore WB's notice re missing masters, and move on to Lighting? ... or what? -

@ Smile44 Wiki Page FeedbackYou note HQ Snow Texture as Optional, but under 2.G. Landscape & Environment in STEP 2.2.8 it is considered CORE.So is its inclusion in this pack really optional? -
Thank you. PS. Now that I am at the end of my STEP Core install, and loving the result, I am re-enthused to carry on to Extended and beyond. I appreciate the work and dedication you STEP team people have made.

Like sabreone, trying to find out why there was no Bash Patch in my Overwrite folder, I spent many an hour reading and watching videos before I stumbled on this thread. Perhaps, when you consider the experience level of the 'new' STEP Core user, there should be some mention of this possibility in the Note for MO Users at Step 3.A.2., or even a short paragraph in Step 4.A. Troubleshooting Common Problems.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
darqnite replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I finally ignored the STEP advice to not download the Nexus file and did download and examine it. It contains the enblocal.ini files referred to in STEP's instruction #3 (choose the enblocal.ini corresponding to your video card). After comparing the Nexus version with the enb version (enbseries_skyrim_v0252.zip), I believe Kuldebar is correct: The STEP detailed install instruction needs to be amended to reflect the changed rules. Thank you guys - problem resolved. -

Unfortunately, I get redirected to https://sites.securepaynet.net/redirect_0.html, an "Oops!!! This site is currently unavailable" message on that page. Thanks for trying, What is the name of the tool to which you are referring? -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
darqnite replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Thanks for replying. I had downloaded the ENB binary as advised by the STEP instructions, and had extracted the enblocal.ini contained therein, but there was only one enblocal.ini in the zipped archive. However, the instuction "Change parameters according to your video card (choose the enblocal.ini corresponding to your video card)" at https://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost#Recommendations indicates that there must be different enblocal.ini's for different video cards. My problem is locating those additional enblocal.ini's. -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
darqnite replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Guys, I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but the ENBoost detailed instructions for STEP link here, so please redirect me if inappropriate. I am trying to install the STEP: Core on my new computer, and instruction #3 says: "Find the section marked [MEMORY] and ... Change parameters according to your video card (choose the enblocal.ini corresponding to your video card).... "My question is: Where do I find the enblocal.ini archive so I can choose the correct ini? I haven't found it on Nexus or enbdev sites, and google is useless. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you. -
Sorry about that - my mind is so full of mods these days. First of all, ignore the repackaging advice in the special install instructions; there is absolutely no need to do that. Try these steps: 1. Place the <<skse_1_06_16.7z>> file in your ...Mod Organizerdownloadsfolder exactly as you downloaded it. 2. Extract the <<skse_loader.exe>>, the <<skse_1_9_32.dll>>, and the <<skse_steam_loader.dll>> files to your ..Skyrim directory. 3. Start Mod Organiser, double-click <<skse_1_06_16.7z>> under the downloads tab in the right-hand panel to start the install process. [iGNORE the exclamation mark next to the file] 4. Left-click the arrow next to <<skse_1_05_16>> to open the contents. You'll see a list of files and folders. The ONLY folder you are interested in is labelled "Data" the others are of no concern. If you left-click the arrow next to "Data", you'll see it contains a sub-folder labelled "scripts". 6 Right-click "Data" and select "Set data directory". 7 The red writing at the bottom of the panel will change to a green "Looks good". 8 Click OK, and you're done.

Try clicking the arrow to the left of "> [ ] Strategy" to see what that folder contains. Perhaps there is another folder below "Strategy" From my limited knowledge, you are looking for a folder that contains .esp files, .bsa files or contains sub-folders titled 'scripts', 'textures', or 'meshes'. The folder you need to right-click is the one containing things like this. If that still doesn't help you, go back to the mod's author page and see what he/she says about installing manually. That should point you to the folder you seek. Failing all of the above, tell us exactly what the mod is titled. Maybe someone who has more experience with mod-installing will be able to help.

You must expand the displayed <data> folder by clicking the arrow to its left. Usually you'll then see a folder called "Data". THAT is the one to right-click.
