STEP 2.2.9 possible Redundant mods
TechAngel85 replied to camaro_69_327's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The UDBP includes the bug fix #11940; however, these meshes are not actually in the Patch. This probably needs to be reported. EDIT: Sent Arthmoor a PM about this. -
This is the third time I've answered this just today today...but you are forgiven. Search the forum next time, though. Distant Decal Fix is not redundant. There are in-fact, 20 files that the USKP doesn't cover which can be seen in the conflicts tab of MO.

STEP 2.2.9 possible Redundant mods
TechAngel85 replied to camaro_69_327's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Distant Decal has been discussed many times. It's not redundant and it's loaded before the USKP for that reason. It still has 20 non-conflicted files. Cultist Mask do appear to be in the changelog (bug #11940); however, that they are not showing up on the conflicts tab has me wary that the fixed meshes are not, in fac,t in the UDBP. Investigation will have to be done. All of Weapon and Armor Fixes isn't in the USKP either. Tannin has a bug tracker where you can officially request features for MO: https://issue.tannin.eu/tbg/modorganizer/issues/open -
Okay here is the installation order for the Female Overhaul: Skin Mod (like Mature Skin...for Mature Skin you need to download and install both UNP normals and texture files of your choice. Both the main file and Alternativ have been tested and work.)STEP Female Overhaul (the FOMOD: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1_Nlyy2ueu0RzZ6Mmx6Y3lHX1E/edit?usp=sharing )I've left out the scar mods as those don't really fit into the female overhaul. They should be handled as separate mods entirely. The skin mod must be compatible with a vanilla body. The only things that are changed on the body are the maps for the muscle tone and the foot meshes. Mature Skin for UNP happens to fit nicely over the vanilla body. Other skin mods may as well; however, they have not been tested. You MUST hide any of the *head_msn.dds files that are present in Mature Skin for all the races or you WILL have neck seams on the NPCs. Other skin mods, again, have not been tested. The FOMOD has FemFeet meshes included as well as options for female muscle tone using a combination of Diverse Muscle and Fitness Body assets. It's been set up with example images and should be ready to go. I just need testers to test this out, read over the FOMOD, etc to make sure everything is a go. If it's good, this will be added to v2.3.0 as Core.

FOMOD and install order will be posted in a bit. I still have to finish up the FOMOD. But first...bills must be paid.

DROPPED Better Shadowmarks (by Funsize)
TechAngel85 replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod overwrites the USKP so you would have to compare the two to see which one is the better quality. -
I got some extreme close up face shots and I honestly can't tell a difference with or without No More Blocky Faces. They look the same on both the PC and the NPCs to me. So unless someone and show me the difference then they're just not going to be included.
-
Idk, I haven't tested them out besides making sure the neck seam wasn't showing. Was going to take a compare later to view side-by-side before adding it, though.
-
I tested No More Blocky Faces from Xenius. This mod covers the same files that were messing up in Mature Skin. The files are to smooth out the faces and Xenius's seems (no pun intended) to be working for both PC and NCPs. It's open source and I've already contacted Xenius about using his files so we're good to use that instead. I won't be fixing the compilation at this point but if you've kept up with the thread you should be able to get this running in vanilla without UNP installed. I'll be posting an installation order tonight (or most likely tomorrow) with the FOMOD for testing. The FOMOD has 6 muscle tone options available to fit all players from the Mage to the battle hardened Warrior.

The shadows are horrible on the body in vanilla and that is why I took the screens with an ENB enabled. (If you're talking about my screens it's just the position of the sun) Okay, I have a fix but I need to test it to see if the PC is affected. Hiding all the *head_msn.dds files fixed the issue for me on the NPCs. This simply means the faces will not be as smooth. EDIT: Please test to confirm. The is one file in each folder for each race. I just hid the whole folders and then one file in the female folder for it.
-
The problem with UNP was that the body shape changes shape when the armors are equipped. It's not a 100% vanilla compatible mod. This is well documented in this forum and is the reason we started a compilation. The change when equipping armor was unacceptable.
-
You are correct. The neck seams are on the NPCs...odd how they show on the NPCs but not the PC.
-
Let me load it up and look at some NPCs. I had checked them out yet actually. I thought you were talking about your player character.
-
The shots I've posted are with both old saves and a new game so that shouldn't matter. You must have something installed that is messing it up or did and it's cooked in your save. It shouldn't matter with Better Males. The only assets that are conflicting there are the scars which according to the Better Males mod page are the same assets (Xenius), but I do have it loading after just because I didn't move it up when I installed it...so it's setting at the bottom of my mod list. The only female conflicts are with HRDLC.
-
Thanks and no problem. It was one of the things I wanted to tackle while I was on vacation because it needed to get done.
-
I've just realized that without including the scar mods or a skin mod the only thing the FOMOD will be doing is providing the foot meshes and giving the choice in the muscle tone which is, in reality, only one file for the muscle tone. Still worth doing to give users a choice based on their planned character.
-
The compilation has Body and face texture UNP main file. The Alternativ body and face textures UNP is an option that works just fine as well. I wish these weren't 2048x textures. I'd be more comfortable with 1024x texture for STEP but Mature Skin doesn't come in a lower file size option and we don't have permission (yet) to use the assets to attempt to constrain them in DDSopt.
-
It's included in the compilation so you should deactivate it for the compilation. In fact, all the above mentioned mods should be deactivated for the compilation...the point of it was to include all the mods pre-configured. Even Mature Skin is included; however, it will not be in the final product.
-
I'm going to go ahead and start putting together a compilation and FOMOD with varying muscle tone options while I wait for the other STEP Staff to check this out. I did have a though though... Should XCE-Scarface and High Resolution Scars be a part of the compilation or would they better fit as separate mods. They both include scars for both males and females; not just females. I think Z included them because they were included in XCE.
-
Thought this was a bit of interesting news. Gopher, who has used NMM forever, has been testing out Mod Organizer and will probably be switching over to it (at least for a while he says). This is big news only because he has so much influence in the community and because of this influence, we could be seeing a lot more users switching to MO. Since STEP hosts the official MO Support Threads, this also means a potential increase in STEP users as well.

There's not a choice for the male replacer as it is simply Better Males and the files that the Team chose. We would have to get permission to use the assets of Better Males in order to create a FOMOD with more options. I'll think about this for a bit. I'll have to look into the different options with those files first. For now, I think we have a really good solution for the females. The FOMOD was an excellent idea, thank you for that!Just need some other staff to post opinions before moving on to making this more final. The only thing I don't care for is the makeup with Mature Skin, but I can look past this. The Alternativ version might be less "done up". I'll have to look at it.EDIT:Nope, both versions have the same amount of makeup.
-
That's a very good point. Since we have permission to use these assets, it would be possible to make a FOMOD with a couple different options for the user to choose from.
-
Okay, I've been comparing the muscle tone options we have from the mods we have permissions to use assets from. I've picked the two best ones and compared it to vanilla. Tell me which you like best: Vanilla >> Diverse Muscle Tone (option 3) >> Fitness Body Full Size: https://i.imgur.com/CJDatVG.jpg The first is vanilla for comparison sake. The second is option 3 from Diverse Muscle Tones. The complication I posted had option 4 in it as Z recommended. Option three is slightly less pronounced in the arms and ribs making the shadows in these area much better. The third is the Less Abs option from Fitness Body. This is far closer to vanilla with less pronounced toning on the arms and ribs but still an improvement over vanilla. @Covert This is an option in Fitness Body that is closer to option 4 that is in the compilation; however, has more abs. This is it: Full Size: https://i.imgur.com/3VcoLcc.jpg You can vote if you like this one best as well. You can see it comes with very light veins.
-
I'm gather some better shots. With a few different muscle tone options for us to look at.
-
Vanilla >>> Compilation (forgive the lighting...it's hard to predict the weather and wasn't going to force it just for this) I don't really know what the compliant is. There is very little difference in the body shape. The Compilation is more toned and has a bit more muscle definition than vanilla. That's about all as far as body shape is concerned. Yes, this means the ribs are more visible but if you don't know that comes with a toned body, then you haven't seen many really toned bodies in real life. I've been in martial arts most my life and when the shirts come off this is basically what you see. Granted the ribs might be a slight exaggerated, but all-in-all I say it's pretty realistic.
