WB or MO- Switching from STEP to SR
rootsrat replied to Luisangre's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I have a mix of STEP, SR and SkyRe + my personal preference selection of mods - over 400 mods currently. Working pretty stable, still polishing it off. Quite a few custom patches are required for SkyRe and STEP/SR to work though. Ars Metallica, Destructible Bottles, Explosive Bolts are the ones that come to my mind straight away, but there are many more. -

I've read some positive reviews, that's why I decided to buy it. A friend was saying it's not that good, but he's usually very sceptical towards lots of things, so I just ignored his oppinion :P If you want to read something scary, go to https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26800/? comments tab and click on "DO NOT CLICK THIS IF YOU DO NOT LIKE A JOKE" link, than scroll down to read the comic. It made me JUMP! My girlfriend screamed so hard, that I felt really sorry for showing her this :D -
It really dependson the timescale value you use in the game. I use 8 and must age that 10/30 is an overkill though Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
rootsrat replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
@Neo - hope it will go smooth and that the final-new version of SR is even better than this one. 1 quesion - SR suggests to install unofficial patches as first and thrn other fixes, where STEP recommends to install them after some fixes were installed. Is there any reason/difference? -

No, as all the changes you've already made are saved into the esp files. I was referring to, whether TESVedit cleaning has to be redone, because it now finds more issues or sth comparable. The mod cleaning bit - possibly. I guess the easiest way to find out is to load up one of main ESM files, the ones that you've already cleaned and apply the cleaning filter again, then clean. If any new ITM will be removed and any reference undeleted, then all the other dirty files will require cleaning again. If no new ITM records or references to undelete are found, I'd presume it's ok to leave them as they are. -
Yeah, it would probably depends on amount and size of textures, scripts that need kick in when a new location is loaded up etc... I will try those 2 anyway.

You need to drag 2 RED conditions from Hearthfire.esm into 2 new conditions. So 1) Red "Less Than/Or" from HF.esm drag onto the orange "Equal to" in AS.esp 2) Red "Greater then or equal/Or" from HF.esm drag onto green "Equal to" in AS.esp Remember to "grab" them with your mouse in "Condition" row, i.e. click and hold the FIRST RED ROW of the condition (which is empty, no text in it). Effectively, you need all the conditions present in the last file to load (Alt. Start in this case). The 2nd condition in AS (the one with orange text) overwrites the condition from HF.esm, and then the 1st newly created condition again overwrites the one from HF.esm. The condition that you created last does not overwrite anything. Hope that makes sense. No, as all the changes you've already made are saved into the esp files. -
I can test it tonight, although I've never had any issues either. Can anyone recommend a vanilla interior that would likely cause a crash?

WB or MO- Switching from STEP to SR
rootsrat replied to Luisangre's question in General Skyrim LE Support
It's easy with MO. If you double click on any installed mod, you get a pop up with multiple tabs, one of the being Conflicts. This is divided in 2 parts. The top half is the mods (individual files even) that are overwritten by the mod you selected, and the bottom half lists the files that overwrite the mod you selected. If you wish to change the order there is no need to reinstall a mod - all you do is just move the mod in the left pane in MO to a desired position in the install order and the overwrites will happen automatically. If the changes are not reflected, just right click the left pane and select Refresh. -

Fair enough - depends on your playstyle. I have about 10 different characters planned, but because I use over 400 mods, I am utilising all 255 ESPs available for each profile, so I have to change profile dependant stuff to get what I want for given character. I.e. for my Khajiit explorer-merchant I have Wisplicker follower, Moonpath To Elsweyr quest mod and another quest mod + Your Market Stall mod and I used all 255 ESP slots, meaning I had to give up some weapon mods etc. Anyway, BSA unpacking is helpful, if you unpack all of them, as loose files ALWAYS overwrite BSAs. On the other hand BSAs is better handled on HDD drives (faster access as far as I'm aware). So there are pros and cons. But generally with big amount of mods installed it's better to unpack them all, as if some mod provides loose files version only, these files will overwrite any relevant BSAs, even if the install order dictates otherwise. -
WB or MO- Switching from STEP to SR
rootsrat replied to Luisangre's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yes. MO installs each mod in it's own directory. Mods that you activate for a given profile are then used to create a virtual Data folder. You can create multiple profiles with different mod set up - it's really helpful with multiple characters (I don't tend to use additional spell mods for my warrior char, or lots of weapon mods for my mage char etc.). You can then run various applications (configurator, WB, TES5EDIT, BOSS etc.) through MO and they will recognise the virtual Data folder for the given profile. Each profile has it's own INI files as well. -

I use MO for mod management, and I run WB through MO for bashed patch and conflict resolution. -
In Mod Suggestions forum anyone can suggest any mod, even if it's outside of STEP mandate. Shall a mod be chosen as a STEP candidate it will be moved to Mod Testing forums for closer investigation.

I change my mind, this doesn't work well with Frostfall. Besides I my character stands up after I select bed, then Wait menu appears with my char standing. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

How about the quests, Eliian? Would you actually be able to do a full review? The size of this mod is massive and it certainly adds a lot of content...

https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36306/? An interesting one. Adds animations to lots of actions: Quite impressive. I have just added it to my load order, I'll feed back if there are any issues. No conflicts present in ESP. Author seems to be actively working on this, judging by comments.

Unlimited Bookshelves is full of errors. DO NOT USE IT, seriously. This is a safe replacement.
