Try getting the archive from my post #136 above. Yes, it's part of patch mod, that effectively merges scripts from other mods. You'd need manually edit out the changes from that mod - they're contained in r4player.ws file. Easiest thing to do is get the vanilla file, compare it with the No Soft Lock file to see what's been changed, and then replace these changes in the file from the patch mod. Unfortunately that's the only way of getting rid of it. ::EDIT:: OK, instructions here (note due to forum formatting the script formatting is not retained): Bear in mind you'll need to do that every time an update to Assorted Mod Patches is released, as I don't think I'll remove this mod from the guide, unless it plays badly with New Game+ for some reason. ::EDIT2:: Sorry, there is also combat.ws file, that need these changes: enableSoftLock = false; Change this to true.

OK, change these lines to: const var userMarkerTextFont : string; default userMarkerTextFont = "";const var currentMarkerTextFont : string; default currentMarkerTextFont = "";const var otherMarkerTextFont : string; default otherMarkerTextFont = ""; Sorry, that's the STEP Wiki reformatting the code from the file and removing parts of it. I changed the instructions in the guide. Thanks for flagging this up :)

It seems you have incorrectly added a "\" character in lines 55-57 in the modfriendlyhudconfig.ws file. Post the file contents here and I'll have a look.

GUIDE W3R: The Wild Hunt Revisited (Witcher 3)
rootsrat replied to Neovalen's topic in Unsupported Game Guides
@Neo - I noticed you do your patches by manually editing the scripts (me too, always the best way!). Here's a very handy Notepad++ plugin that will recognise .ws script language in NP++ https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/357/? -
I know what was wrong. You've had FH 7.1 installed, while the guide specifically says to install the old 7.0 version. It used to be in the main files section, but the author moved it to the Old Files now. I updated the relevant part of the guide. I've had some problems before when merging some 7.1 scripts, but I managed to sort it out just now. 7.1 will be coming in the next update. In the meantime, if anyone wants to use 7.1 feel free to: 1. Uninstall Friendly HUD 7.0 2. Install Friendly HUD 7.1 from Nexus 3. Grab this archive and unpack it directly into your Mods folder, overwriting all files. LINK

Ah, for the "R" key - it's set to use Quickslot Item 1 by default - I completely forgot about that, sorry. I use some extra mouse buttons for the quickslot items. You can change that to "P" in the input.settings, I don't think "P" is assigned to anything by default. Just find-replace this line: "IK_R=(Action=Photomode2inOne)" to "IK_P=(Action=Photomode2inOne)" in the input.settings. As for the compilation error, here are Friendly HUD and AMP mods that I have installed, place those in your Mods folder and see if that helps. It's definitely Friendly HUD that causes the problem, so it's either a) you installed it incorrectly (corrupted files perhaps?) or something's wrong with the Patch. (Are you using the 2.0 version with only modAMP or the old multi-file version?) LINK This should hopefully solve the problem.
-
Thanks Astakos, it may be that as well. I keep forgetting about this problem, as I've never had it. Thorgal, try what Astakos suggested and see if that helps. If not, we'll try some troubleshooting. BTW, cool nick! Not many people know Thorgal! It was a very popular comic book in Poland when I was a kid/teenager, but nobody in the UK (where I live now) seems to know it.

1. Did you download the Assorted Mod Patches? If yes: 2. Is your mods.settigs file set up correctly? It should have these entries:
-
If you have everyting on default, the entries won't be shown. You can simply paste them into the file. I'll add this information to the guide, well spotted!

No, Nexus had problems with it's upload system. Grab it from here: https://copy.com/v30YhouYhiKh4oPx I was going to put up a public link yesterday, but it was 3:30 AM when I finished and I was totally knackered ;)

Right, the massive update is here! I consider the guide completed for now. I'll probably add/update some new mods in due course, but the guide updates won't be as frequent now. My plan is to start New Game+ and see how the modded game fares there. I also have a couple of ideas for mods and I'd like to focus on that too. Your feedback as always is much appreciated! If you have any ideas or suggestions don't hesitate to post them here. I hope you enjoy using this guide, I put a lot of my time into it and I'm quite proud of the result :) Now, without any further ado... 12/09/2015 - MAJOR UPDATE! Hey there. If you have limited number of keys you can easily skip the weather, effects and time control keys if you want. They're there for testing purposes mainly and to be honest I never use them in game. The most important one is R key really, as it allows you to pause the game at any time (including cutscenes!) and turn on the free camera mode to take a cool screenshot :) If you really want the extra controls, the available keys would be F6 through to F12, so maybe use those? You can also use Insert, Home, Page Up etc. You need 10 in total for full controls, including "R". However - if you're just starting with the guide I'd wait until the next update, as it's going to be a massive one - about 10 mods were removed and over 20 new ones added, plus a few were updated. I was going to spend most of the weekend testing the new lighting mod and sorting all the new patches, but after some initial testing today I decided not to include it in the guide, so I'm just finishing off some final stuff and I should be releasing the update later on today or tomorrow at the latest.
-
I'm just making the comparisons. It doesn't look that good. There are certain areas it looks absolutely stunning but a lot of the time it's just really bad, overbloomed or too dark or a bit on a washed out side... A lot, and I mean A LOT, depends on the weather and time of the day. From what I've seen so far I don't think it will make it to the guide. And I know not a lot can be improved because of limited possibilities of current modding tools - if you can call it that at all, as all Modkit allows for is uncooking and unpacking the game files... You'd need access to proper editor to resolve those issues and as we know we're not getting one... So unless an upcoming update to Modkit allows for access to more file types this mod will have a lot of issues.
-
I have tested it briefly yesterday and yes, it looks amazing, however some users were reporting issues with weather etc. That was one of the reasons the update was slightly delayed as I had to create a whole set of patches for Cutscene Lighting and the new mods I've addded and then Turbo Lighting was released (I was following the W3 forums thread for it closely, but didn't expect for it to be released yesterday!) and all the patches had to be redone. Since I do most of the patches manually... lots of work! I will be testing it extensively over this weekend to catch any issues or problems. One thing I noticed is that it removes a foggy overlay over LOD buildings and with ReShade Lumasharpen they're too gritty, so I'll be looking to sort that out too. I'm hoping to have the update released before Monday. Quick teaser - over 20 new mods added to the guide, patch mods combined into a single mod, and many more changes incoming! It really is a massive update, the biggest yet. Watch this space and book some time off ;)

Thanks for confirming! I may have to revalidate my game files. I've been messing about quite a lot for the upcoming massive update of the guide.

Help request: can anyone test any horse texture mod please? I noticed that mine just stopped working recently and I have no idea why. Even if it's the only mod installed it doesn't do anything. Not sure what causes this (unless CDPR changed the filename of the texture in the bundle pack - which is unlikely). I'd like to find out if it affects anyone else. Just make a copy of your Mods folder, create a new one Mods folder and install any horse texture mod like Fera's Roach Variants or Black and Grey Mare Roach

GUIDE W3R: The Wild Hunt Revisited (Witcher 3)
rootsrat replied to Neovalen's topic in Unsupported Game Guides
There's not much to NMM when it comes to modding Witcher 3. I use it in my W3 guide too and it's the matter of double-clicking the file to install and same to uninstall. One thing to notice is that if you modify a mod directory content (for example when changing mod settings via a config file, like Friendly HUD does), NMM will not delete this directory when you uninstall the mod and you need to remove it manually. A minor disadvantage really, but worth noting. -
Yeah, I loved the teaser! Looks like Shani's back too! From what I've heard you'll be able to get a special physical edition with full set of Gwent cards, but it's very limited number. I kind of regret getting expansion pass now... As for the guide - the major update is coming soon! A significant amount of mods were removed and there will be lots of new additions, some changes to mods.settings and user.settings file, some text changes and much more. Watch this space :) Following this major update I will start New Game+ and I'll start testing how the guide works with NG+ to further improve on it so it's suitable for both normal playthrough and NG+. Compatibility with Hearts of Stone will be of course ensured. In other news - not sure if you're aware but CDPR confirmed now that they won't be releasing Mod Kit 2, however they will keep updating and improving Mod Kit. This news left a bit of bitter taste in my mouth, following what they were claiming before the game was even released, i.e. full support for mods and modding community, which included release of the world editor for the community to create new adventures etc. At least the Mod Kit will be improved upon and update. There should be an update coming soon, so I'm eagerly waiting to see the changelog. Hopefully they will expand the tool's capabilities rather than just fixing the bugs...

GUIDE W3R: The Wild Hunt Revisited (Witcher 3)
rootsrat replied to Neovalen's topic in Unsupported Game Guides
Nice one! Looking forward to the development of your guide Neo. I'm sure we can learn from one another :) -
V8 was a spin off of my beloved Interstate '76. I always wanted a remake of the latter... Luckily the new Mad Max kind of fullfils that need. Rollcage is a bit different to all those games though due to the fast paced racing - it was VERY fast game and I mean it. You could really feel the speed! I really really hope that Grip succeeds :) Come on people, throw your money at them! :D

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I have a fov mod in the testing queue :) I think the guide will have a major update next. I have recently finished the game and I have now enough gameplay time behind me to assess the usefulness of some mods, so I'm in the process of reworking the whole mod build, creating new patches etc. and once I'm done the new build will become Guide version 1.0 recommended for normal game and I'll start New Game + to enhance the guide further.
