  1. If MountainTrimAlphaLOD.dds has an alpha channel, it may be a different texture. You need to go close to the object in the game to get its reference form id with open console and clicking on the object. Lookup the reference form id in DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\Export\LODGen_SSE_Tamriel.txt. The last 3 NIF files mentioned for the line are the used LOD models. Open the LOD model in NifSkope to find out the texture used for the shapes with the problem. Let me know what you find out.
  2. The DynDOLOD patcher does a simple check if a few key files from DynDOLOD Resources SE Core Files exist in the load order. If the files do not exist, then the error message is issued. Since you are using MO2, you also need to start every tool and the game from the MO2 executable drop down.
  3. The error message is self explanatory. Make sure the DynDOLOD Resource SE archive downloaded completely and the Core Files were installed completely. Sometimes downloads are incomplete and/or not all files are extracted without error message. If there are problems with following 3rd party instructions, you need to ask its author.
  4. Looks like a texture has no alpha. It is probably textures\lod\MountainTrimAlphaLOD.dds Find out which mod changes it and check if the texture has an alpha channel.
  5. First post is still from before there was Papyrus Util for VR. As always, read the included manual DynDOLOD_Manual_TES5VR.html. Either PapyruUtil for VR or DynDOLOD DLL is required for dynamic LOD. Read the included manual DynDOLOD_DLL.html for the requirements and installation instructions. The papyrus command to show a message command does not have coordinates. Request a better UI mod for Skyrim from SkyUI guys for example. Enable Papyrus logging in Skyrim.INI and then check the papyrus log for the error message.
  6. It is unrelated because writing new or existing files into the games data folder that is under control of a mod manager is always a very bad idea, regardless of the tool or the particular files. The negative effects or issues that arise from writing or having loose and uncontrolled files in the data folder applies to all files, regardless how they got there. Also, the solution is always the same, remove the loose files and install with the mod manager.
  7. This is a basic modding question unrelated to xLODGen about loose files in the data folder and loose files installed by the mod manager. Typically there should be no loose files in the data folder and everything should be installed only with a proper mod manager.
  8. To troubleshoot this particular error look at the mentioned form id of the REFR, CELL and WRLD specifically and if they show any unresolved errors. Also check / test without the last plugins to overwrite each. Whatever the cause of the error, it should be fixed so to not have any errors or problems in the game later.
  9. The download / programs folder is probably under special protection by the OS or antivirus and moving executables out of it resolves that issue.
  10. Following the suggestion of the log messages to check the FAQ to find this: FAQ: DynDOLOD.exe: Can not copy xxxx from xxxx.esp into xxx.esp A: Often caused by a broken bashed patch. Use a newer Wrye Bash version to create the patch or do not use the merge patches option. A: There is a plugin in the load order with errors. Check the load order for errors with xEdit.exe before generating LOD. Fix all errors. See this video for help. 11. FAQ: Game: Tree LOD: LOD trees do not match close-up full model trees A: If the billboard tree LOD seems overly dark or bright, use the tree LOD brightness setting on the advanced options to account for lighting changes made by ENBs or weather mods. A: Doublecheck billboards and billboard load order. Open console, click on full model tree to get form id like 000185C7. Lookup this FormID top left in xEdit, bringing up the tree reference in the right pane. Find the form id of the 'NAME - Base', like TreeAspen01 [TREE:0006A9E6]. Search in Textures\Terrain\LODGen\ subfolders for files with that number, like TreeAspen01_0006A9E6.dds and TreeAspen01_0006A9E6.txt. Replace files with correct versions. A: The DynDOLOD log will print a detailed list for each tree which billboard (and 3D LOD model if applicable) it is using. Use the base form id like 0006A9E6 to easily find the entries in the log. A: Find better matching billboards for the tree mods or create them. See this video Do not install billboard for small bushes or shrubs if you do not want LOD for them.

  13. Since years I preach to use dedicated output folders outside of game and mod manager folders to avoid overwriting files accidentally . DynDOLOD/TexGen try to protect users from themselves and automatically set a dedicated output folder. Use MO2 right window data tab to find loose files and their mods.
  14. First post says "the lods do not look like the trees upclose". To me that means the used billboards for generating the tree LOD texture atlas do not match the full models. Until an image of the used billboard texture is posted and properly compared to the full model and to its LOD in game I have no idea what the problem is supposed to be or what to do about it.
  15. Billboard textures are a LOD resource that are used by DynDOLOD to generate the tree LOD atlas. The DynDOLOD log prints a list of the used billboard file paths. They can be found in the load order, typically added as separate mods or included with the tree mods. You were asked to check their overwrite order is correct in the first few posts. Use MO2 right window data tab to find loose files. It will also show which mod supplies each file.
  16. The link shows 2 images of billboards. They seem to be taken from the tree LOD atlas. One is named Billboard texture of Image 2 and the other for Image 3. How can there be a different billboard for the full model tree and then for its LOD? Instead, look up the source billboard dds for the base record of the tree in the textures/terrain/lodgen folder. Post the reference form ID.
  17. What does the billboard texture for the tree in image #2 and #3 look like?
  18. You posted 5 pictures without any description. Picture #2 seem to show a full model. Is picture #3 the LOD of that tree?
  19. DynDOLOD uses the LOD meshes/texture that are installed to the load order. Looks like you have a mod that replaced textures\lod\mtn*lod.dds and similar. Some mountains also use textures\lod\mountainslablod.dds which TexGen builds from textures\landscape\mountains\mountainslab02.dds. You have mods that either change some or all of those textures and/or maybe the mountain LOD models. xLODGen uses the full landscape textures to generate terrain LOD textures. If colors appear off, it maybe because you change brightness, contrast or gamma settings. I those settings were default, then the terrain LOD textures look exactly as they should according to the full terrain landscape as no color tone changes are applied. Either case, you obviously want to use the LOD level 32 terrain textures with the manually painted roads for the map anyways. However, the map also uses these default textures if the INI settings do not exist: sWorldMapOverlayNormalSnowTexture=Data\Textures\Terrain\WorldMapOverlaySnow_n.dds sWorldMapOverlayNormalTexture=Data\Textures\Terrain\WorldMapOverlay_n.dds
  20. The second img URL shows a bunch of textures, which I have no idea what they are supposed to show. If you have verified, that the correct billboard exist in the load order for its full model and that it is not overwritten by any other files and that this billboard is on the tree LOD atlas that is generated by DynDOLOD and that this tree LOD atlas is used in game, then the LOD for that tree has to match. If the wrong LOD shows for a tree in the game, then it is one of those things where the problem is. You might want to make screenshots of a LOD tree and its full model in the game.
  21. Use DynDOLOD 2.84 to generate LOD.
  22. Of course there is a tamrieltreelod.dds in the DynDLOD output folder if tree LOD generation was selected in the options. The term "bottom" doesn't mean anything, especially when using list views that can be sorted by different means or in reverse. Use the appropriate mod manager tools to verify overwrite order of conflicting files. To check if the correct billboard(s) made it onto the tree LOD texture atlas, open the atlas in an image viewer. There should be an exact copy of the correct billboard(s) textures you said do look exactly like the full model trees.
  23. Make sure the billboard texture that you are checking is not overwritten by other mods later. Make sure the billboard texture made it onto the generated tree LOD texture atlas textures\terrain\tamriel\trees\tamrieltreelod.dds in the DynDOLOD output folder. Make sure the output is installed properly and nothing overwrites any of its files.
  24. So you looked a billboard texture filename, but that does not really tell you if its image matches the tree model. You already seem to have found the billboard texture filename from the log. Open the billbpard texture in an image viewer. Open the model nif in NifSkope. It should visually match. If not replace the billboard texture with the correct one for the full model. DynDOLOD does not generate billboards, it generates tree LOD with them. The DynDOLOD output contains the generated tree and object LOD. Nothing should ever overwrite or replace it.
  25. See this video If a billboard does not match the close up tree at all, the wrong billboard for a tree is installed. Verify with the mod author/discussion forum the mod was installed correctly.
