I've been playing modded skyrim for about a month now, and I've gotten more and more comfortable with how the mods worked. Over time I've eliminated most of my CTDs, but I have two consistent issues that I can't solve.
1. When entering and exiting buildings, my computer seems to use an inordinate amount of RAM or VRAM. This causes purple and black textures, and is seemingly random. My game will CTD within 5 minutes of this happening.
2. Certain areas cause instant CTDs, like Dragon's Bridge and Dawnstar. This might be corrupted cells, but I tried waiting for 999 days and it didn't help.
Interestingly, I have not encountered either of these issues when playing in Solstheim or Falskarr; only mainland Skyrim is affected.
I installed STEP extended, and added some more mods that I liked. I have removed some scripted mods during gameplay, such as BFS Effects and EB Effects because this eliminated CTDs during combat.
