Tagged topics not showing in filtered results

Just something I noticed today as I was properly marking some threads for testings. Some threads that are tagged are not showing in the results. For example:

 

https://forum.step-project.com/topic/3813-amidianborn-imperial-forts-by-cabal/ (marked with the testing prefix)

 

https://forum.step-project.com/tags/forums/testing/ (not showing up in results)

 

I should mention that it was tagged with 'testing' in the Topic Tags. When I deleted that tag and added the proper Topic Prefix (testing), it disappeared from the results and as not shown back up. I've waited all day for this think it might be a forum cache issue and will resolve itself, but it was yet to do that. This has effect multiple mods that I added the correct prefix to today.

 

I did see the option to rebuild the cache in the AP, but didn't want to touch that as I'm not positive the issue is the cache.

I've noticed that changing a prefix most often times invalidates the search completely, and the items never show back up, at least in the immediate term. The application extends the default tag system, so who knows what it's doing and why it has a hard time with this.

 

Rebuilding the tag cache is not viable for this issue. I believe it to be a bug in the addon.

So the fix would be to add the topic tags back in?

Prefixes are tags, they are just an extension of them. If you look at the threads, they have the tag of "testing" on them. Which is why I'm calling this a bug.

Ah, how inconvenient. That's going to make it a chore to find all the threads marked for testing unless the search function works. Though the tags do seem to be working now: https://forum.step-project.com/tags/forums/testing/

Then it must be associated with thread/post cache somehow. If that is the case, it could take some time for those caches to get updated with tag changes.

it is partially cache and partially 'bug' I think. There is also the issue of Prefixes not always showing correctly in the recently updated threads on the top page of the forums.

 

IPB v4 should significantly improve the default tagging system, and the developer of Tags & Prefixes already has stated that he will update his add-on to support IPB v4 where it remains lacking.

 

We shall see once IPB finally releases this century.

We'll need time to play with IPB v4 before going live. Ideally, I hope default capabilities will be sufficient and we won't need to rely on an addon.

I edited the title of Stealth Skills Rebalanced to add the the mod author's name and it fell off the testing tag search.

Just click the Topic Moderation next to the big black reply button and select Add to Testing.

I clicked Mark for Testing and it's still not in the testing tag search even through it has the yellow TESTING tag.

I noticed it usually takes a day or so for the testing tag search to include newly added items. Cache needs to be refreshed, I imagine.

Yes, it just takes some time for the tags to register.

Please do not add a 'testing' tag for mods in testing ... use the TESTING prefix tag so that there is a visual marker (edit post > use full editor). This also effectively adds the 'testing' tag.

 

The addon for tags & prefixes does not capture changes to existing tags (or maybe even new tags) immediately. It takes a day or two ... or a week, but changes eventually update with the tag search functionality. It is an issue with the IPB tags search functionality and buggy integration of AT&P addon ... works, but not immediate.

So to mark a topic for testing, click Edit on the first post in the top then click Use Full Editor. In the full editor, change the Top Prefix to testing, and click Submit Modified Post?
