Started a new topic so we have a better place to discuss. Don't know if you have seen this Neov, but it puts it into a good perspective. I really like the analogy in the beginning. Here's the link.

Sure, unless you read the comments where the analogy is flawed. Lol :)

In any case, yes it is a good card. No, I'm not planning to return it but I'm definitely going to be skeptical before touching Nvidia again. I will no longer trust them on their word alone and a form of compensation for the deception would be nice.

Agreed, I still have faith they'll do something about it. But maybe it's misguided. If they don't, it is setting a very bad precedence for other parts makers. It's a slippery slope, if you live in the USSA then you understand all too well. Our system does this kind of smoke and mirrors sh!!t all the time!

Somehow this makes it even more impressive just how good that chip actually is.

Ofc. it is not okay that one part of the company did not talk properly with the other part to make it all right.

Boris has been chiming in on the Nvidia forums and on ENBDev... he is pissed off.

More I read the more it makes me want to return as I know future games will use even more vram.

It's a lot of money, and if they don't right the wrong, again, I think people should stand up for it. If we bend over, they will think it's ok and get worse and worse over time. It's human nature. It reminds me of the good old days when game developers started releasing games "unfinished" with the promise of "patching", which was very far-fetched at the time. Gamers let it slip and for a while and many games were released practically unplayable. Speaking of which, look at skyrim. It is a bit ridiculous that to this day we have "unofficial patches" to clean up the mess they left in game. I'm not saying we should not have some patches for unforeseen technology upgrades, but the level we're at now is a bit obscene.

Agreed, last few years game releases have been really bad. Let's hope 2015 fares better.

In any case, it looks like a lot of people have had luck with Newegg returns. Problem is, of course, that I won't have a card for awhile.

Just makes me more and more certain I'll be going 980 single.

I still wont touch Team Red with a 40 foot barge pole.

That's actually what I'm thinking of doing if I do get my refund.

I hope Boris rethinks his last post on Nvidia. Of course maybe he has enough weight to throw around that someone there recognizes him and does something. One can dream.

It's disappointing that the card has less VRAM that I original hoped. Well, at the very least, it does distributed computing tasks very well, so there's that. (Haven't tried modded Skyrim with it)
