Gyro Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 So!  In the wait for the next STEP I have been coming the Nexus for mods that strike my fancy and way of play.  I think I'm pretty much done, and wanted to see if anybody had any particular input about my choices. As per the rules of STEP club, No NSFW links or attached pictures in this thread. I mention this because there are a couple of NSFW mods on the list. JudgmentJay Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I see you like player homes... I highly recommend Gleaming Falls, which is in my opinion the best-looking player home from an aesthetic standpoint. While I prefer the house version, the shelter version is the more unique of the two.

And yeah, I really do enjoy the housing aspect of the game.  I have a whole additional list of housing mods that haven't quite come far enough for me to include on my list but I have great hopes for :D For instance, the premise of the Riverhelm mod is exactly right for my particular sensibilities (favorite part of Baldur's Gate 2 was running a castle), but it still has a little ways to go yet.
skwareballz Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 More Dynamic Injuries should be avoided right now due to scripting issues, it will spam the crap out of your papyrus logs. The author is back working on his mods again, and might give this some needed attention, so until then skip it. Ars Metallica is in STEP, and with Complete Crafting Overhaul it might be smithing overkill, you should probably pick one or you'll have lots of redundant recipes. Amethyst Hollows is a crazy player home, if you like homes. Immersive armors is also the best armor mod out there, has a UNP file that supports 6 of the armors. If you like blunt weapons, 1H and 2H, then look at LSB Battlehammers, very underrated, but lore friendly and adds to vanilla sets plus adds unique weapons, the only draw back is that it disables the Boss Draugr disarm shout so your weapon doesn't fall through the floor. Also, it you really get used to ASIS or some other SkyProc mod then check out Automatic Variants.

I will also make a note not to include Ars Metallica; I think I'll go with CCO instead (for now, anyways!).  I'm also adding Immersive Armors.  I don't want to disable boss draugr disarm shouts, so I'll leave LSB Battlehammers for now.  I do love me some warhammers, though, so perhaps that will get fixed in the future... Automatic Variants is intriguing, but I'll probably wait a bit to see what kinds of combinations people are suggesting.  I initially discounted Amethyst Hollows because of its 'dreamworld' position (the implication seemed to be that it is in your head and not some kind of pocket dimensions), but I suppose there's no harm in adding it and seeing how it pans out :D
feenix1188 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I'm interested in a similar character textures setup, specifically UNP and Apachii SkyHair. Would you recommend completing the STEP installation and then installing those textures (as well as your other personalizations) at the very end?
Kelmych Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 That's what I do for the UNP textures and meshes.

I have updated the list.  I also need to do a bit of conflict/resource hog hunting.  Also, you should not use the Apachii NPC patch!  You will end up with the dreaded grey face on some NPCs. I removed Economics of Skyrim and replaced it and Real Unleveled Skyrim with Skyrim Scaling Stopper, which I like the feel and balance of better. I have also removed Cerwiden for a little bit for testing and plan on adding her back in in the future.
