STEP - DDSopt - 4_mod_sorting.bat

Question

Posted

I am starting to get better at using DDSopt. I am using it alot more and testing alot more mods with it. I am using the batch file STEP provided (thank you for this) to sort everything and then rearchive it just to make my life easier.

For the past several hours I have been optimizing things with no troubles, but suddenly, the batch file that does the sorting is making Extra folders labeled "Mod DDS, Mod TMP". The TMP one is obviously ment to be a Temporary folder, which is all fine and dandy, but I wasnt seeing these things until just now.

Does it ALWAYS make those folders and for some reason it wasn't making them before? Or is something wrong? Should I be using these folders?

It always makes these folders (Mod DDS, Mod TMP, Mod TSN) while sorting the textures. It deletes them before it finishes; they are temporary folders. If they are still around when the processing finished there is a problem.

Ok. I deleted them. Ran the sort batch again, watched it remake the folders, and then it deleted them when it was done.

I dont know why it left them in there that one time....but w/e...seems to be working now.

None of the log files show any errors.

Sometimes the folders are left without any files inside. It is ok.

As long as everything else is okay, empty folders are fine. Windows can be weird about moving files around and leaving empty folders, but as long as files are in the right place it shouldn't be a problem.
