Question

I have been trying to find the download site for ENBoost.  While I seem to be finding the parent site (https://enbdev.com/), all I find are downloads for other apps, adware and third party software.

Having been hacked on my WoW account, I am very suspicious of downloads from web sites pushing adware.  All I want is ENBoost, not a toolbar, a mod manager, a download manager, a pc doctor, etc. ad nausium.

I can't believe I am having so much trouble actually getting to ENBoost.  Can someone help?

https://enbdev.com/mod_tesskyrim_v0243.htm

Go to that link and click the black arrow that has 'ENBSeries v0.243 for TES Skyrim' next to it. Then you extract the d3d9.dll, enblocal.ini and enboost.exe to your Skyrim folder where the Skyrim.exe is. Then open up the enbseries.ini and change the line: UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false to true, it is under [GLOBAL]. That will turn off any enb graphics features and only use the ENBoost stuff.

From there go to the [MEMORY] section and change the parameters in that section based on this link's recommendation: https://www.iparadigm.org/pages/pnenb/ENBoost.html

Only problem with it is that it only really provides the base value you should be testing with first. It cannot find the most optimal value for your setup! ;)

Problem is that it depends on the entire rig, not just some general stats of certain components. You can have a beast graphics card, but then a discount Motherboard, and you would get massive bottlenecks due to that, which would prevent you from using certain values as effectively as the next guy with a godlike motherboard, and a less good graphics card.

It is just a matter of trial and error until the amount of stuttering you experience is acceptable for your gameplay. With proper values you should only really experience stuttering etc. during transitions, and cell changes etc. If you get it all the time, then you clearly have entirely wrong values for your system!
