Base Requiem (by Smile44)

I am starting this build as promised on my other thread in this section. This pack will only contain Requiem and patches to get it working with all the DLC and Unofficial patches. I've also included an extra patch for potions.

Requiem - Guide

This pack is based on a CORE STEP install, and is compatible with my weather and lighting pack, no extra patching required.

:)

EDIT: Modlist is not showing yet it is saved but hopefully it will show itself soon.

EDIT 2: Modlist is up pack is live.

EDIT 3: Modlist includes more instructions attached to each mod. Options are given and all is updated to work with latest Unofficial patches.

Edit: Here are some nifty videos detailing how Requiem works and includes plenty of detail including perk trees - hope this suffices.

Introduction -

Levelling System -

Atmosphere -

Skills and Perks -

Magic -

Combat and Attributes -

Items -

Finale -

Playing Requiem Part 1 -

Playing Requiem Part 2 -

Or an even more complete series these look great with STEP like graphics and really good detail - there is literally hours of stuff here. - LINK

If I had the time I would be moving the many threads you just made on the matter into this one..... just silly really :P They might be seperate but clearly all are part of the same thing. :P

Yes this is true I added them because as as far as I know each mod needs a forum entry and needs to be on the wiki. So if it is not necessary to add in the mods as I have done I would be happier as there are bigger packs in the offing and all of this extra stuff is fiddly extra work.

Yeah you are doing it right Smile, everything on the wiki needs a thread, and everything on your pack will need a thread and wiki page. This is all by design for users of the pack when things are more official later down the road.

Thanks a lot for doing this, and of course thanks a lot for the whole STEP community and all the mod creators for making this possible.

I'm currently planning my first Skyrim playthrough and decided to try STEP+your lighting solution (ELFX)+Requiem. I hope to be able to play when my 280x arrives so I thought I'll have to start reading :)

What baseline STEP mods have you found compatible with Requiem? Since core works, wouldn't trying to add the baseline mods one by one be the next step?

Thanks a lot! Regards,

Indeed, I agree. This seems redundant, but it keeps forum and wiki interconnected, albeit archaically. The goal is to eventual integrate the two seamlessly, such that creation of one yields the other. Need IPB though.

@Smile

I fixed the issues you were having with this Pack. It turns out that you cannot use apostrophes in the Pack name. I don't fully understand why, but it screws with the parser somehow.

s4n or Farlo could explain probably.

Thanks.

P.S. in the Pre-installation box, at the end of my sentence it says "Various stuff" this is somehow embedded in the page and I can't find an obvious way to get rid of it. It was not added by me.

Uhuru added that for some reason to the template. Fixed.

Again, there is no reason for anyone other than the admin and developers to edit the templates and forms. Screwing around in these areas just breaks things.

Seconded - these things are tricky enough as it is.

I've decided to run with this Requiem pack. This is exactly what I'm looking for... something realistic, deep and methodical. Thanks Smile 44 !

I seem to have everything up and running, patches too, all but Hard Times. I'm having a tough time troubleshooting this mod. Per my mod and load order I have no issues until I check and initiate the hard times.esp. I do have it low in the order below all the other requiem esps and before alternate start. What I get is the launch of ENB and then the skyrim emblem. It no longer spins and the menu options bottom right do not show. Out of all the problems I've encountered (and believe me they are legion) this is a new one. Either it launches or I get a quick CTD. This is new.

Any advice on how to trouble shoot this ? Thanks

EDIT: actually there seems to be a bug in the new 1.08v. There have been similar posts on the nexus board for the mod.

I would suggest just using the USP patch for now until it settles down. Do you have all of STEP installed? If so you probably have some redundant mods installed, I made the pack for CORE STEP and or SR:LE. The problem with these overhauls is that they do change a lot and conflicts can appear anywhere, I assume that your full modlist loads up in TES5Edit, and if so then it is likely to be script related (guess). I would reinstall Requiem Resources and Hard Times as the second relies on the first.

@Smile44

I have a heavy (not the latest) SR setup. But have culled alot of that other than the textures.

Are you using the latest 1.08 or 1.03 ?   As per the nexus boards I'm not the only one having issues but that doesn't mean I'm clear of any mod conflict.  I'm going to go through your mod list setup and see what I have that your don't.

Here is my current order :   If you see any redundancies can you let me know ?  I've cut alot but I'm not adverse to cutting more... thanks

From a quick look, I would get rid of coin replacer and anything to do with traps as Requiem already handles those. SoS can likely cause problems but there are many things that could conceivably be causing issues with Requiem - I would have a good look through what Requiem does and then check that against you mod list. Your list by the way is based on the old SR which is likely to be redundant as so many mods have been updated. You don't seem to have added the patches either which may be the cause of your problems with this. I have SR:LE installed and have removed or replaced a few mods and then added Requiem on top with all the Azirok patches I also have Immersive patrols which makes the game tougher it seems. I am playing as a Ningheim vampire and everybody is attacking me - harsh, as I only want to drink their blood and chew their bones - where's the harm? Some form of malignant speciesism I suspect.

Anyway less is definitely more as Requiem does touch on just about everything. My OP for Requiem with SR worked at the time but I have not updated it since producing the pack. I would advise installing STEP CORE then adding the pack or packs - Weather and Survival are compatible, then see how you go, Followers are handy but not too many. Or do the same with SR:LE but there are few redundancies in that though not many similar to what is outlined in the Base Requiem pack. I am thinking of adding some other packs that will be compatible because they work with Requiem and STEP as is so some instruction is worthwhile - when I have time.

Happy hunting.
