rootsrat Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/38389 Fresh upload. Title says it all. I don't think there is ANY mod that touches that texture... It look really good, but the best part it's more than JUST a retexture! Features: 1. Real columns, and real (VANILLA) values which follow a calculation system explained below: Barter Ratio = A ratio that determines the selling price of the item (and income of merchant) according to the formulaSelling Price = Barter ratio X Cost Price (Merchant Expenditure) Then we have,Subtotal = Income total - Expenditure Total And finally,Total = Subtotal - Hold Tax For the eagle eyed amongst you, now you know why all merchants' gold (in vanilla game) wanders around 750. :) 2. Real Items, real costs and real customer names (almost each signature has a unique handwriting!)3. Skyrim inside jokes for the fans. :)4. Real antique paper textures and old style handwriting fonts have been used!5. A (not so hidden) easter egg. ;)
torminater Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Only issue I'ld have, is that it refers to Frodo Baggins who is not part of TES Lore. Not a mod for purists then. Also, the "inside jokes" are not really true to the story happening in Skyrim, even though it refers to stuff from encounters with various NPCs. Still, if there is no other option than vanilla (and we overlook the Frodo Baggins "issue") this mod might be included. Other question: Is it a dynamic plugin which changes the numbers and values for the different shops or is it the same texture used for all business ledgers? I guess the latter, although the former would be REALLY awesome in combination with kryptopyr's Trade and Barter or sth like that.
rootsrat Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 If this is indeed the case then I won't be using it :) Lore is lore! :P
exploiteddna Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Hmmmmm... Maybe the author will release a version without the Easter egg and sans jokes (and maybe replace the merchants name with a real TES merchant instead of his made-up name).
exploiteddna Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Hey guys, just curious where we stand with this mod? I have been talking with the author and we've been brainstorming some ideas for a new revision. I was curious about what the admins and longtime members think about this mod, which changes you would like to see the most that would give it more credibility in terms of consideration for STEP core. *For example, removing the Frodo Baggins would probably be a good start, right? *What about the random merchants name? Do you think the actual name of a bethesda merchant NPC would be appropriate/lore friendly? *Any other ideas or potential changes that may make this retexture more suited for STEP?
