Testing required, but it looks interesting on its face.

This should really be posted in the SkyrimSE Mods forum using the editor tool.

Step Only --------                           Step + Mod -----------          Step + Mod - SRO

L9jER0X.pngmLPjszb.pngHNhRGwZ.png

This mod is placed in the begining of 04- Foundation so Step is overwriting. In the last picture i deactivated SRO who overwrote 1241 files from this mod.

To be honest my old eyes see no changes. (Ofc Step already covers most of the game)

In Step this mods has 21030 files overwritten by Step and 10922 files with no conflicts.

Might this be interesting to use as a baseline to potentially replace 'Skyrim Realistic Overhaul' to preserve some RAM? On the other hand, even 'Skyrim Realistic Overhaul' brings its own aesthetics to the game.

Added a pic with SRO deactivated. Look at the floor and the stonework around the fire pit, there you see what SRO brings. (i am using Step Heavy ENB in all pictures)

My concern with this is the same as it was for "Cleaned Skyrim SE Textures". Looks good on the surface, but when you start digging how is it? Cleaned Skyrim SE Textures pretty much used a single or couple upscale models to achieve what they did. The issue with that is the results are all over the place. We didn't add Cleaned Skyrim SE Textures because many of the texture had issues that weren't present in vanilla such as pixelation, removed details, fake looking averaging and sharpening, color shifting, re-adding fake shadowing, etc. This is mainly caused by not adjusting to use the best model for the texture because the best model for a stone texture isn't going to be the best model for a fur texture, and so on.

This mod does make the claim of editing textures post-upscale to further fix them, so I have a bit more faith that it will be better than Cleaned Skyrim SE Textures was. In fact, I had started working on doing the very exact thing. If it's good, I guess I don't need to worry about that work anymore.

The floor seems to show what this mod brings (not SRO), just to be clear. There seems to be a stylistic change with the stone floor texture being one example?

Same.

A good evaluation probably requires randomly comparing a hefty sample of raw textures as well as several different scenes in the game with this mod winning all conflicts.

I just got a new video card, and after several days of using it, my monitor stopped working (most likely unrelated), so I got a better monitor as well. I should be able to see differences if they exist once I set it all up.
