Hi guys! I really want to replay Skyrim after many years and I really want to follow this guide, but I'm a beginner in the world of mods and I already have doubts about the first part of the guide (setup). If you could help me, I would really appreciate it!

First question: right after installing the game and opening MO2 for the first time, what appears to me is completely different from what is shown in the guide. Is this normal?

https://ibb.co/BgQd0ny

Second question: in the system setup guide, under display configuration, the part that talks about important considerations: 1 - Configure driver software and frame-rate caps as described on SSE Display Tweaks .... really confused me.

Should I really install SSE Display Tweaks in the system setup? When I go to install it, it says that it needs SKSE, which I don't think we have installed yet.

Thank you very much everyone.

To your first question, that is correct. The color theme can be changed in options (my favorite is called dark)

Second question, you want SSE Display Tweaks 100%. What GPU do you have? Do not tweak anything in Nvidia control panel (CP) or AMD yet. I can help with this, send me a PM if you need further assistance!

Thank you for your answer and help! Dear friend D1Z4STR, I wasn't referring to the skin when I said that my newly installed MO2 was different from the guide, but rather to the huge number of things that are in mine.

Regarding your question about GPU, I have an RX 5500XT 8GB.

About the second question, I just started the guide, I just installed the game and the tools according to the setup guide. However, right at the end of the initial basic setup guide (on display configuration - important consideration) it says this: 1 - Configure driver software and frame-rate caps as described in SSE Display Tweaks. This really left me confused. Should I do this right there in this part of the guide? Don't I need to install other tools first before doing this at this point?

Anyway, thanks for helping!

I would not mess with your AMD driver software for anything at this time. Let SSE display tweaks handle what it does as it has v-sync on by default. Just double check over the guide and what it says and double check your actions since it is your first time. It is easy to miss over lines.

You will soon learn how to create MO2 separators in the left-hand side of MO2, it will help with organization.

Another very important tip is to read the actual mod page for each; many people do not read the mod page entirely and just quick to download/install.

Your screenshot shows the general MO GUI. The guide doesn't show any screenshots of this. It only shows screenshots of MO installation and configuration of instances on first launch. Please show us what you are referring to when "what appears to me is completely different from what is shown in the guide".

No, you should not install SSE Display Tweaks at this point in the guide. It's installed later, and I will modify this portion of the SSG to avoid confusion.

" Please show us what you are referring to when "what appears to me is completely different from what is shown in the guide".

- In the MO First-Launch Setup section, there is a link to "for more detailed information about the MO configuration" with several screenshots, and one of them is from the MO GUI. Here is the screenshot that I compared with my installation, and that's why I found it strange that mine has so much more stuff:

MOSetup15.PNG

- Is my installation correct then? There are 77 things on the left panel of the MO and 79 on the right. Will this all be sorted automatically when I use the loot later?

- Thank you very much for the clarification. You are right, I think it is good to review that instruction at that point, as I believe that other beginners will have the same doubt.

Got it. That shot of the MO interface pertains to SSE 1.5.97 and not the latest version of SSE. Also, that shot is specific to SSE, but MO is used across all games, so I simply removed it, because it's redundant and misleading.

I have yet to fix the SSE Display Tweaks piece, but have a look at the modified MO First Launch instructions, and see if that makes more sense.

Yes, this sounds about right to me if you have the latest version of Skyrim Special Edition with all of the mods from the Anniversary Edition bundle. As @z929669 mentioned, this was a really old screenshot of Mod Organizer that was taken before the Anniversary Edition bundle was released.

Can I take this opportunity to clear up two more doubts that arose while following the guide?

1 , when I created the empty mod for the xEdit output (tool setup session), a red x appeared in the MO. Is this normal?

https://ibb.co/BzCZPLJ

2 , in the initial part of the bethINI pie configuration, there are the following instructions in the tabs: Shadows - If ENB or other post-processing will be used, untick Ambient Occlusion, and in the visuals tab - Consider reducing the sun size if using ENB or other post-processing, If ENB or other post-processing will be used, set (particles) this to 7500 and If ENB or other post-processing will be used, untick Lens Flare and Anamorphic Lens Flare...... As a beginner, it is not clear to me whether the guide will use these ENBs later, and I do not know whether to follow these suggestions or not.

Hover your mouse over any icon in MO to learn what it means. This mod has no valid game data. This is normal and fine, because you have no plugins or game files in taht mod. Only things pertaining to xEdit.

Read the first part of the BethINI Pie section:

Those revisiting during Performance Tuning ...

You will revisit the BethINI configuration again later. The answer to your question is: It doesn't matter. Everything will be correct in the end. If you don't know if ENB will be used, you can presume it will or it won't and make the adjustments accordingly. Most people have a good idea, but it just doesn't matter either way.
