SSE 1.6.1170 or MO2 Now Making Skyrim.INI Folder?

Hi,

I just upgraded to SSE 1.6.1170, and I also installed the latest MO2 2.5.0. Since making these upgrades, I now noticed in \Documents\My Game path a Skyrim.INI folder being created, and I never had this before with SSE 1.6.640.0 and MO2 2.4.4, so I'm not sure where this is coming from.

I've attached a few screen shots showing this Skyrim.INI folder, if anyone knows what's happening? Because all the files use to go under this path; \Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE

Some file are still using \Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE but I'm still not sure why there is now this Skyrim.INI folder.

I've created a MO2 plugin to band-aid this issue.

Thanks for information provided here.

 

Plugin just redirects anything that goes to Documents/Skyrim.INI back to Documents/Skyrim Special Edition via MO2 VFS, it's not a real fix but enough to satisfy my OCD for now.

I have this folder too and am not sure what creates it:

\Documents\My Games\Skyrim.INI\SKSE

It seems like an alternative location for logs of some SKSE-dependent mods. The traditional location is:

\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE

Notes:

• I deleted both of these folders from \Documents\My Games\ (Skyrim.INI and Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE).
• Both locations are created on launch of the game via MO but not via Steam.
• Only the traditional location (Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE) is created when launching via skse64_loader.exe directly from my game folder.

... so \Documents\My Games\Skyrim.INI\SKSE is created either by MO or one of the SKSE-dependent runtime mods.

Google tells me nothing.

I went back to 1.6.640.0 for now, some mods I'm using aren't updated.

Yeah, and that it's not some wacky anomaly with the game or MO

Shouldn't really matter. It's just going to bother those of us with OCD over file organization.

One of the reason that occurs is that some old skse dll plugin is using function:

SKSE::log::log_directory()

to get log directory. It is currently return path of ~\My Games\Skyrim.INI\SKSE instead of My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE on latest skse with game version AE 1.6.1170

So what's should be the new method to get log_directory in latest 1.6.1170? 
Edit: I see, if we update to use latest SKSE it should go in the right directory I guess.

Sadly no, at least for me, just re-installing everything after a windows re-install the occurrence persists, with the latest SKSE 2.2.6 and SE AE 1.6.1170. Here are both my INI folders just after the Game-Launch Smoke Test.
