xedit scrolling is driving me nuts

Can someone please explain how to disable the ridiculous resetting xedit does when scrolling up and down? When set to viewing the records standard, it's fine, but the columns are too narrow to view all info. When changing from standard, this weird scrolling reset happens that sometimes pushes pertinent columns off screen. How can I disable this so that scrolling up and down does nothing with the horizontal positioning of the records?
