Sorry I don't know what FPMOD is. If installing the manual method and there is a "Data" directory below the "<data>" on the top level then click on the "data or Data" below it and right click and select "Set data directory". The text in the bottom of the window will change from "No game data on top level" to "Looks good".

I am Sorry for the typo.  It Should Read FOMOD.

When I do as I know and what you describe I get nothing.  No response.  I have tried all of the files in the folder and none of them will except being set as a data directory.

Sorry I should have picked that up. If the default Fomod is not working you can go into Settings, Plugins Tab, in left pane scroll down to "Fomod Installer" and click on it, the right pane will change with a few options. In the right pane click on the "prefer" to highlight it and fast double click on true and you will be able to change it to false. Try installing your mod again.

Just to be clear if it is a fomod installer you would want to let it do its thing and not click on the manual button.  If you can list the mods you are having a problem with and maybe a screen shot of the install.

Installing mod “CBBE-Beautiful Nails FOmod – Pedicure-7981-1.zip

I did as you stated and made the changes in the settings

I right click the mod to install it.  A window comes up “Confirm Mod Nameâ€.  It is the name of the mod so I click OK.  Now a window comes up and says “Install Failed†is says, Could not load file or assembly ‘GamebryoBase, Virsion=1.1.6703.18486, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null’ or one of it’s dependencies.  The system cannot find the file specified.  When I close this window an error comes up “installation failed (errorcode 5).

I have two mods that will not install.  “CBBE-Beautiful Nails POmod – Pedcure-7981-1.zip) and (CBBE-Beautiful Nails Mod – Scratch Edition).

I am not sure exactly what you would like a screen shot of.

GamebryoBase? I know that's the engine that Skyrim is built on, but why would a mod installer be looking for that?

Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, or is unclear, could you clear up a question or two for me?

1) I know that MO is used for both MO1 and MO2 here, but I think it may be a good idea to clarify which version you are using.

2) Likewise, which version of Skyrim.

3) If Skyrim SE, is that mod a port to the SE version that is supposed to work, or a LE mod that is still unported?

4) You mentioned that this is a FOMOD based install (normally). Have you successfully installed any other FOMOD based mods at all?

I don't know what GSD is thinking, but right now, I'm wondering if the mod itself might be the problem, so I'd also recommend looking at the mod's Nexus page comments and see if others are having problems with install as well. If not, we'll look at other areas.

  1. I am using MO2

I am not using this for Skyrim at this time I am using Fallout 4

All I know is I have used it through NMM recently.  I downloaded it from Fallout 4 Nexus as All of the mods I use.

Yes I have without a hitch.

I have looked all over and found nothing.  Also as I stated earlier I have used this mod for a long time through NMM and have had no problems.

The other mod (CBBE-Beautiful Nails Mod – Scratch Edition) is doing the same thing.  It is not a FOMOD.

Sorry - used to answering Skyrim questions, and this being a CBBE made me think this was.

Ok, random thought. If it's looking for a file that is likely associated with the game itself (the GamebryoBase file), then have you tried validating all files through STEAM for FO4? Barring that, I'd next try a re-download of both files, on the off chance of a corrupted download file.

Here is the situation.  This morning because of all this I decided to do a total re-do of the set up.  I uninstalled 120 mods and everything else.  I reinstalled MO2 and at this time I am working on re-installing all 120 mods.  Yesterday I had everything installed and all was working good until BodySlide refused to work and with the problem with these two mods and (Neutral vertibird) I decided to make the plunge and make sure everything with the setup is correct.  SO far thinks are looking UP!

Also Yes I have tried multiple times to re-install those mods to no avail.

I can confirm that the CBBE ped mod mentioned is not installed properly setting the "Fomod Installer" to true or false". The second CBBE mod Scratchy nails installs the mod with a data folder so there will not be any game data for the mod. You have to double click the mod and go to the Filetree and expand the Data folder there and drag the meshes and textures folders down in the window a little to set them in the right position.

I am just going to scrap the whole thing and start over for the third time.  You guys have been great so thank you for the help.  I am sure I will be back screaming for help on my third go round.  I might even go as far as re-downloading Fallout 4 on Steam.

I have three mods for Skyrim that have the same problem, no data directory can be set.

Two of the mods are presets for bodyslide, the third was a remesh for armor.

Can I open the mod and create a data folder, or will I have to take it into the creation kit in order to rebuild it?
