Mod Organizer 2 and BSA extraction

I have been unsuccessfully trying to extract BSA's when installing a mod. I have the  bsa extractor plugin set to true, but I am given no option to extract bsa's from a mod when installing, and when i check the file location after the install, I don't see any BSA files. what am i doing wrong?

If you're using Mod Organizer 2.1.3 from Nexus, you might also download one of the newer developer builds in #builds on the Mod Organizer discord.

If you are not seeing the BSA files, it seems like they are being extracted (unpacked). You will see meshes and textures, not the BSA. I've had one mod "Grim Grass" that the textures would fail to load unless I unpacked the BSA.

Two other possibilities:

 

1) The mod you are installing already uses loose files.

 

2) You previously checked the box to remove the prompt by accident.
