Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Hi' date=' you can find it here. It is far from complete but works really well and is very stable as is. You can play it and your skyrim will look amazing. Very little patching needs to be done and that is just for OBIS - these patches also come with the mod itself but the idea is eventually to build all the patches into one new .esp file. It is a solid base upon which to try different mod builds but don't expect much support from Neo or Will, as it is labelled as do not use. Neo is taking a break (as much as he is able) so it will progress in it's own time.

:)

Thanks. So the mod is basically dead?

No. Taking a break does not mean dead. It was just "updated" today. Just realize neither of those may be able to help you if you have issues (coming back to the not suggested to use part).

AKA, what Z said ;)

Neo, the author of Vivid Landscapes just released a new mod.

Vivid Landscapes - Imperial Forts

It looks as great as all the others, so wondering if you will include in SR:LE as well. I'm surely going to be using the mod regardless though, parallax is awesome :P

Only thing is that this one requires FixParallaxBugs to FALSE... which seemingly conflicts with the Project Paralax Remastered ENB settings :(

I've got the forts mod in my testbed... I have mixed feelings about it. The stair textures and pillar textures in particular.

First of all, thanks Neo for doing this.  I just purchased Skyrim LE in the latest Steam sales and I wanted to make it look spectacular before I really dove into it and get full enjoyment.  After installing a couple dozen mods on my own, I stumbled across STEP and your install.  Your walkthrough has been very informative and helped me figure out MO, TES5Edit, and so forth.  A couple points I'd like to make.

1) The part on using TES5Edit to clean the base ESM files is a bit confusing, specifically the part about the files needing to be put back into the /Data folder and then the Overwrite -> Create Mod to import your cleaning edits.  I just couldn't get this right.  TES5Edit left the ESM files in /Data - so was I supposed to delete them and move the ones in /overwrite there?  Because when I did this then MO wouldn't let me Create Mod.  Perhaps it might benefit from a few screenshots?  The only way that seemed to make sense was leaving the /overwrite folder "backups" because then I could Create Mod and those files were moved into the corresponding folder under /mods.

2) Skyrim Immersive Creatures seems to be dead (your link can't be found).  I can only find translated versions of the Mod on Nexus.  Or are those suitable to use as well?

These Nexus problems are giving me fits. Looks like they re-enabled NMM downloads but MO still needs to be updated before it can download mods/info again.

In any case, once the Nexus is fixed I will do more updating. Manual downloading and page load failures suck. In the meantime, I've at least updated to the current Book Covers Skyrim and Vivid Landscapes series (these are likely to get more updates from the author soonish).
