venkman781 Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Quote I use Dxtory to cap at 40fps, with no probs. Makes everything feel smoother, and removes mouse lag. I wouldn't be without it. Thanks Monty. I'll try that. I'm getting the classic splashing effect and other odd physics glitches when maxing out my refresh rate.
stoppingby4now Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 It's all those XP users that are bringing us down. DirectX12 will be out with Windows 8, and 98% of the games are still primarily developed against DirectX9.
MontyMM Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 That and the xbox. But don't get me started on everything being designed for seven year-old hardware. I remember when you had to have a shiny new PC to play the best stuff. I haven't upgraded for years, and I don't think I'm missing much.
stoppingby4now Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I think it comes down to laziness. I've seen games support multiple versions of DirectX (9 & 10) and do a good job at it, but it certainly is easier to pick one target and stick with it.
