  1. Perhaps this is all news to me because I am a religious user of the Python versions of all Wrye *ash interfaces ;) For me the SVN was a mere overwrite of my Mopy directory and deletion of my *.pyc files... just haven't used the BP yet, so it sounds like I am good to go, woohoo!
  2. Interested, but way too busy with other priorities right now. I will maybe contribute piecemeal or verify other's findings at random opportunities.
  3. Agree that this stuff is all either known or generic "fixes" compiled from "Win 7 tips and tweaks" type sites. I can agree with the sound card tweaks as not being as widely known, but the rest is mostly drivel.
  4. I think that your box is "good" but a just a bit short of "great" The save hang could also be uGrids related. Are you using default for that? If not, then I think it is Fri's suggestion in concordance with one or two of the mods you are running.
  5. @Fri This is what I was doing for 295.5 and was planning to also do so for the SVN; however, I have not yet used the BP for the SVN. I do know that the Game Definitions had to be installed from the WB Skyrim Nexus in order to get the BP to work correctly as well, so I am assuming that this also applies to the SVN?
  6. Good ideas. whatever bugs we can document may be useful for the entire community, and we should definitely be transparent about it and rais awareness to any effort towards that on this site ;)
  7. No worries. We've got it covered. Thanks for creating the guide I moved the page Beald created (thanks mate!) to the "Guide" namespace that Farlo set up and also added it to the "Guides" category that I set up. Link is now on the main page with the other guides. Also added header tags that I am hoping all agree is an acceptable standard (there is that word again emanating from my fingertips!). I left two redirects behind for those of you that click the preceding link... yes, I named it wrong the first time, so now we have a trail Lastly, I shortened up a few of the longer page titles to reduce the overall size of the TOC box. In the wiki, reverting is very easy, so no worries about losing anything in case someone thinks I F%@$ed up!
  8. You may need a framerate capper then, I have no such issue with or without that TESV profile. Otherwise, you have a driver issue or some other comparability issue. I'd look on 3dguru.com
  9. AMD Catalyst Control Center Guide Guide Thread This thread is for discussion and improvement of the AMD Catalyst Control Center Guide on the wiki. As of this moment, the "guide" is just a few screenshots of my own CCC 3D App Settings setup. I use 2Xfire 6950 1Gb. I recommend these settings for anyone though.
  10. Ahh yes, you mean by ticking "dont process any of the known file types" good point. The 102 are a combo of *.png, that I know DDSopt will process into DDS... not sure if this is a problem or not, but these are all book images, and I think that they should be left along, as mips probably do not apply. Two of the others (hotiron, and gray) are confirmed, and the others were found by Vond I think, so he can address that. EDIT: Sorry, getting you two mixed up!, will correct!
  11. Only problem is that now we must rely on Skyrim Unplugged to stop automatic updates, which will break they system, no? Or does Skyrim.ini remain untouched? Either way, this adds a layer of complexity and represents "user preference". Given the potential level of maintenance and vigilance, I am inclined to let modders figure that out for themselves. Once a modder begins thinking like this, they have graduated past the point of the guide maybe :P ***However, I welcome any +1 to EDIT: torm's Vond's ideas here.***
  12. Very good point. Will update EDIT: actually, copying is more of a PITA, as you have to hunt each one down. The filter should be quicker (and see my edit to prev post)
  13. Yep, you are correct on that EDIT: tormVond. I meant to change it but never got around to it. EDIT: Furthermore, just remembered that it should be OK if these textures are missing, as Skyrim - Textures.bsa should fill in the gaps ;)

  15. Discussion thread: Mod Organizer by Tannin42 Wiki Link Wiki Guide A popular mod manager prefered by intermediate users. One drawback to this app is that it requires a background process. Need a full review. [Moderator Edit] Historic Mod Organizer Mod Thread Should No Longer be being used with New Forum Available Kept for Reference Only and No Longer Stickied
  16. NMM is a mod manager that takes over where OBMM left off. This is a mod manager that is simplest to use for novice modders. The program has many great advantages for this group, but many drawbacks for the more experienced modder. Download NMM

  19. @Monty Good point, I second that motion. (PM me if you aren't sure how to do that.)
  20. Thanks guys, glad to be of use and provide something useful ;)
  21. I finished adding all of the data for each texture overhaul. Currently working on adding screenshot links to each bench. Next, I will add performance summary comparisons and general recommendations.
  22. DOF is certainly not for everyone due to the performance hit (like some forms of SSAO), but I like a subtle DOF effect. Note also that Xfire/SLI significantly mitigate all FPS hits, so folks with those kinds of setups are best suited to applying such enhancements. I would guess that all FPS hits will be cut in nearly half with 2x Xfire/SLI.
  23. DOF is one of my very favorite effects. Very realistic, but for the fact that in reality, you only experience the blur in your periphery ... Makes it look more cinematic though.
  24. Sounds like good info for the hardware and/or/ troubleshooting guides ...
  25. Sin? what the hell is that? OK, I will look to confirm z-fighting in my next load up. I am fairly certain that I have seen it in the past, but try hard to push such displeasing thoughts and events from memory. EDIT: z-fighting confirmed on my system (ATI 6950 2Xfire CCC 12.3)
