  1. Try again now ... also, be sure to use Page Tools > Edit With Form. Lastly, be sure that you are editing the Pack page (Pack:SomePack) and not the subpage (PackSomePack/SubPage). I just tested with a test account sharing your privileges, and there is no problem saving revisions to your Pack page.
  2. Naw, you weren't hostile at all. It was a fair question, and I just responded factually without any "softening" indicators ;)
  3. One more good thing about RW2 over Water is that the "greenish paint" look of distant waters is not apparent: Water RW2
  4. Thanks! I had great source ;) Red aspen is still in 179e, so only that LOD has it. 18+ uses same LOD with yellow version. Rennn used vanilla source and simply added some color changes and no new bits, so it's OK. Completely changed now, so this could just as easily have been derived from the original vanilla version.
  5. Which source LOD are you referring to? The default 179e verses the "new" 182b? My new revisions are also desaturated a bit from previous, especially for snowy pines. I have been tying to keep the snow part pure white while only allowing color to shadow and midtones.
  6. Thanks Guys. I went ahead and mad a few more revisions. Mainly, I remade the maple LOD in the regular versions from scratch using the actual in-game maple close-up as a source. Much better now.
  7. I have not inspected every single change this mod brings, but the overarching concept of scrunching up the textures around the models is flawed, IMO. From what I have seen, what applies to the mountains also applies to the other rocks in this mod. I recommend waiting ro the proper fixes to evolve rather than apply this mod. Do please look at some of the other comparisons under Core. If they look better, then post the screens and we will consider using the "good stuff" from this mod.
  8. I finally finished revising LODs for 179e, 181b-Basic and 182/3. I also modified a few of the snowy pines branches and bark. Everything matches nicely under vanilla lighting (and it should match under any lighting ... i.e., artifacts should be similar for close-up and LOD alike). Textures modifed for the "Recolored" versions: 179e & 182/3 - Regular textures\landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnow.dds (brightened up a bit, and added more red to stems and green to branches) textures\landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnowl.dds (brightened up a bit, and added more red to stems and green to branches) textures\landscape\trees\vurt_pbark.dds (made bark more orang-ish) textures\landscape\trees\vurt_pbarksnowy.dds (made bark more orang-ish) textures\landscape\trees\vurt_PineSnowy.dds (added more 'snow') textures\terrain\tamriel\trees\tamrieltreelod.dds (lots and lots of very small changes with a few larger ones as well) 181b - Basic textures\landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnow.dds (same texture as above) textures\landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnowl.dds (same texture as above) textures\terrain\tamriel\trees\tamrieltreelod.dds (lots and lots of very small changes with a few larger ones as well) I am also using the following grass from 179e in 183: textures\landscape\grass\tundragrassobj01.dds textures\landscape\grass\tundragrassobj04.dds textures\landscape\grass\Vurt_TundraRedFlora.dds The image names identify the content (modified versions appear ath #3, #5 & #8 in each image set): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pg61v11af77munn/aTGmHkQMCL HINT: When viewing the gallery, let it load for a few minutes before flipping through the images. These are PNG, so they are rather large. Keep the mous cursor off of the image space and in the lower left corner to keep the navigation bar in view. Use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate, toggling back and forth as necessary! ... I'll package these up this weekend and post on Vurt's page.
  9. These look fine to me as well.
  10. hmmm. Not necessarily a good thing. Will need to evaluate.
  11. Yep, that's mine. Trying to do something similar for 182 but including more changes. Yep, I use the same, but the Lanczos filter. It takes about 3 minutes for the export to save ... assume it is the mipmapping, but I suppose it could also be the conversion and dithering.
  12. Z, why do you feel that 181b basic with recolored pines/lod looks the best? Are you saying that because of stability? Or actual visual look? I'm thinking about switching to 182 but I'm afraid of the same wacky LOD issues I had gotten before plus instability. I recolored the snowy pines and most of the LOD for 181b, so that is why I think it looks the best ;) You will see in the gallery I link this evening. Not sure how well it looks with ENB, but either way, 181b has mismatched default LOD for most tree colors for some reason. Basic version is also best for stability. I use Lanczos per SparrowPrince's recommendation. It works very nicely for the 2k LOD I did for 181b, but I am still trying to get a good result with 182 4k .... I am assuming it is the mips, but I could be wrong (using DXT5 compression). I might try DDSopt though next time. I don't know of the automatic plugin you speak of.
  13. I am in the middle of a comprehensive compare of all of the latest Vurts. I'll post a gallery later this evening. observations: 182 LODs blend better in generalThere is still inconsistency in snowy pines versus snowy pine LOD (182 snowy pines are same as 179e, but LOD is a little different)I prefer the aspens and their LOD in 179e (more red variation ... 182 converted all to yellow)Tundra grass around Whiterun no longer matches LOD grass (179e did)181b basic with the recolored pines/LOD still looks best overall, IMO. I am working on some fixes to 182 and will upload a patch once I finish ... the 4k LODs are not easy to work with, because mipmaps come out too dark in most of my attempts (and generating mips takes too long in Gimp). Aspen from 179ecertain grass textures from 179e (agree that the yellow grass did not work in many areas)whiter snowy minesfixed LOD where applicable
  14. I think that EBT INI just overrides the Skyrim.ini setting since it is loaded with the plugin (I assume). There should not be any problem but for the fact that EBT scripting can contribute to freezing and CTDs. We should not be using this INI tweak in the guide, I'd say.
  15. STEP does not officially recommend anything. I think SR might recommend 10 (default is 30). I like using 10, but if you do then scripted events can go haywire (e.g., the opening carriage ride, carts will often make that first hard left turn way too early and get stuck... or you could arrive at Helgen gate after the doors close). I agree that the general issue here likely has to do with the game engine and resource management. The only consistent culprit is "lots of mods", which includes heavy taxes on VRAM, process threads, and memory management. Pretty general and tough to pin down. Definitely there is something going on in that cell that tends to push the limits.
  16. The Semantic wiki is a bit slow due to i/o limitations and current config. I have no doubt that we will see much faster page loading for uncached pages very soon as we migrate to the new server. @Farlo Yes, I agree that we can open up the permissions for the Pack namespace. However, I'll do that once we have more activity. Hoping that we'll get an idea of how many are interested in helping out by requiring them to ask for permissions. We should create an announcement about this and sticky the info on this thread ... (settings are in LocalSettings)
  17. In WB, right click on the installers header and select "List plugins" (or something close to that). Just copy to your clipboard ... it provides spoiler and XML tags as well. A new idea: What are you all using for your timescale? I have noticed very strange and inexplicable behaviors using a timescale=10, particularly with travel and scripting. Can we rule this out?
  18. This is the real thread! Merged both relevant threads into this one.
  19. Me three. Monty and Sparrow may have some insights though. I believe that the issues of the past don't apply though.
  20. that was logged int the 2.2.6 Changelog
  21. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31256 Anyone have any XP with this one?
