  1. Looks like you are being hit by the favorite weapons bug. (See DSR description)
  2. I'm running a high quality Corsair 750W, should be more than enough since I was running TWO 970s for months on it. :)
  3. Argh, sorry guys I know this is frustrating. I'm going to RMA (again), the card started putting out a high pitched sound when frame rate goes over 60 (old games and benches) and crashes even at stock settings. Likely be another 4-5 days to get the new card. *sigh* I just have no luck with this upgrade. On the (plus?) side, I now know why it was such a dud for overclocking.
  4. Animations are tied to right hand, it doesn't matter what's in your left hand to the game.
  5. Actually, I dropped post processing (blur/dof) in DA:I by one level and disabled aa, smooth 60. It's just maxed out that hurt :)
  6. I never had an issue in my testing before adding it to the guide but will try more.
  7. Odd. Remove shield, save, then reload. Does the problem go away?
  8. Lots of updates tonight... mostly catch up. Still need to evaluate the updated merge script. I think Sparrows now (mostly) all-in-one mod can be placed where Better Dynamic Snow currently sits for best results however I did not have time to write up the installer so I'll do that tomorrow. Someday I will have all the mods converted to the FOMOD installer format...
  9. I'm on my mobile device so hard to find but if you check the Duel comments thread from months back your likely to find all the drama filled discussion. Not sure if he ever wrote an article or something like that which is easily linkable.
  10. Mutant Crabs....bonus points if they sound like this.
  11. That is a really old critique someone wrote about Duel and been pretty soundly refuted months ago. Was a huge drama fest when it happened too.
  12. This looks to be max that I can do with stock bios, I MAY be able to tweak the memory some more but honestly its not going to buy me any more fps. I pretty much lost the silicon lottery on the memory. Been playing Tomb Raider 2013 maxed out with 2xSSAA and its running great. Boost clock shows 1512 in game and with a manual set 60% fan speed I never go above 60c! Now that everything appears stable I will get back to business as usual. :) Check out my sig for 3dMark link if curious.
  13. Analysis/Experience so far based on the changeover from 970 sli to a single 980. The 980 simply can not maintain a solid vsynced 60fps 100% of the time at max settings at 2560x1600 in DA:I. In fact, with 4xMSAA it got down to the 30s in places. Removing MSAA was a constant 54+fps, mostly 60fps capped and I did not notice any stutter or frame oddities with naked eye when it went down. Battlefield 4, not a problem, always over 60 with Ultra including 4xMSAA. These are both in the "notorious" Frostbite 3 engine. I plan to test other games tonight. I think DA:I is more exception rather than rule as its obviously more optimized for consoles. PC is still in the process of being patched massively for various things. That being said, I am actually quite happy moving away from SLI. A lot of flickering and other bothersome graphics bugs are gone and I can actually use borderless full screen without disabling half my graphics power...
  14. His new version 1.8 works differently. I haven't yet had a chance to evaluate... maybe tonight if I can finalise my Gpu oc.
  15. No military experience here. However, I do work on government contracts so I see military folk (active and former) on a daily basis. On the video card front, spent time last night working on my overclock. So far not able to get it as high as I was hoping but still tweaking more tonight. It appears I did not win the Silicon lottery, ofc I have always been fairly unlucky in that regard. If I want to push higher (really feel I could) then I will need to bios mod, not sure it's worth the effort. So far max temp is 67c on load with max software boosted voltage. Getting ~1500 on observed boost clock with 8000Mhz memory.
  16. Two 8 pin power connectors, higher quality build. Higher max wattage. Not as much as a classy mind you, but a classy is $699.99 whereas I only paid $580. The cooler on this thing is the best there is also.
  17. Here we are ladies and gents, card is installed! Now to see what it can do.
  18. "The" Warden is the original games protagonist. You will find that there are many Grey Wardens in the various games. He may also be referenced as "The Hero of Ferelden".
  19. Card is at home, just now leaving work. So I will get to fondle it and install in about 2 hours :).
  20. Should be there when I get home from work tonight. I already know of a few bugs that will be fixed just by getting rid of SLI in general: 1) Overly thick white fog in DA:I and occasional texture flickering. 2) Texture flickering in AC: Unity. 3) Adaptation and Water ripple flickering in Skyrim. 4) Over darkened shadows in FC4. Tbh it seems like many of the latest games have at least minor quirks with SLI. However, that seems a more recent development with new AAA engines as I never had much trouble with most older titles. I suspect in the end to get smoother gameplay (since getting rid of the memory issue) but with less raw fps overall.
  21. Delivery is scheduled for Tuesday.
  22. I'm suspecting a bash tagging problem for the overlevelled bandits cause I have never seen the issue... however will have a deeper look when I can turn on my PC on Tuesday.
  23. Feels like the end of an era, my original g15 is finally being retired to a backup box after many, many, years.
  24. Wierd, I have never had this issue before... what level are you?
  25. I have a Naga mouse, when it dies I'll likely pick up the matching one.
