  1. I apologize then. The mods can remove this entire thread if you'd like. I didn't think your messages were disrespectful or incorrect. they just seemed straight forward and had good information so that is why I thought it was okay to post them. Next time a situation like this arises, I will paraphrase it instead. Again, I apologize for posting our private conversation and if you'd like, I'm sure a mod would be more than happy to remove the thread. I am a great fan of your mods and I will be more respectful and aware in the future.
  2. Interesting. Here is what my SSAO Section is set to for Full Graphics Mode for Project ENB [sSAO_SSIL] UseIndirectLighting=true UseComplexIndirectLighting=true UseComplexAmbientOcclusion=true UseAmbientIndirectLighting=true SamplingQuality=-1 SamplingPrecision=-1 SamplingRange=0.2 FadeFogRange=0.4 SizeScale=0.5 SourceTexturesScale=0.5 FilterQuality=-1 FilterType=2 AOAmount=0.75 AOAmountInterior=0.75 ILAmount=3.0 ILAmountInterior=3.0 AOIntensity=1.0 AOIntensityInterior=1.125 AOType=2 AOMixingType=2 AOMixingTypeInterior=2 UseOldType=true
  3. Can you mention that in this thread that I started today? https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=3772
  4. I was going to make a thread asking about Crossfire and Skyrim. Now I won't even bother, lol. If there are problems with SLI, there will be 9000x more problems with Crossfire. Nothing ever works well with Crossfire :-/.
  5. Which kind of SSAO settings were you looking for? Just one that has the quality turned way up? Most ENBs come with different performance settings. For example, Project ENB has SSAO turned on by default, but barely. If you go into the performance folders in the ENB File, there is a "Full Graphics" version which cranks it up pretty high (for a performance drop, of course).
  6. Makes sense. Could be that it depends on the CPU. Maybe if you have a weaker CPU, it puts the load on the GPU. Kind of like using Physx on an AMD card. It's supposed to be processed by the GPU but since AMD doesnt' support Physx, it ends up putting it on the CPU which handles it WAY WAY worse.
  7. That part I understand. And yes, we did cover that. The part that I am wondering, is as to whether this is a GPU-related tweak or a CPU-related tweak. Salvador claims CPU. Prod80 claims GPU. Both are reputable and great mod authors so I'm 'interested' to see which it is. I guess I just have too much time on my hands.Â
  8. I just can't get over how ridiculously good Regular v186 looks, especially in the Whiterun Hold.
  9. Hm. Yea, beats me man, lol. I didn't notice a single FPS drop. Let's see what Salvador says when he reads this thread. I sent him a message.
  10. The Post skyrimprefs.ini tweak says to put [Particles] iMaxDesired=8000 This tweak is labeled as CPU dependent. I understand that this is due to SkyMills/Skyfalls. I asked Prod80 about this (author of the fog patch for COT who recommends to put it at 2500.) He said to me: "8000!???! that's nuts... your PC wont be able to handle more than 3000 anyway unless you run SLI Titans lol Then dont change a thing PS. what mod author got it in their heads to allow 8K particles?? My fog with ENB will drop a GTX670 to under 20 FPS and that's just ~1000-1200 particles (on heavy modded game though) the tweak is GPU dependant. Particles run on the GPU, not CPU. You cant run 8000 particles, your system would melt. Its very heavily exaggerated. author should know how many extra particles spawn, but for certain its nowhere near 8000. 8000 is a ridiculous amount of particles." I am confused because I notice NO FPS decrease when putting particles to 8,000 with RW2 and Skyfalls. I do not have SLI Titans. Neovalan, can you comment on this? Or Salvador?
  11. For anyone who uses this mod, can you check if the problem exists for you? I have marked the location in the Imgur link. It is the second image. When I get home today, I will test it with ENB off to rule out ENB as an issue although I do not think it is.
  12. Ok. Well looks like I can actually play the game tonight. By the way, I think I have done the impossible... I have been using the same Save File that I've had since 2011 (YES, IT IS TRUE) and I am using the highest res mods possible (2k exterior, 4k interior, with ENBBoost of course V.221 with Project ENB). I'm not using Ultra Textures from SMIM though since I have no idea what those even change. However, my point is, that my game is relatively stable even when using an old as he** save file. I only get a CTD/Freeze maybe once or twice and hour and sometimes I can go for multiple hours without any sort of problem.  I do use the 'clearinvalidregistrations' feature of SKSE so I'm not sure if that helped to remove old scripts.Â
  13. As long as I'm not missing out on any weathers by using both CoT - Sounds and Sounds of Skyrim.Â
  14. The author is actually a she :-P. Also, yea, I really just want to keep things as simple as possible. ESS is cool but honestly I could care less which direction the snow falls. HOWEVER, I also saw somebody say THIS regarding SoS and CoT - Sounds: "Use either CoT Sounds or SoS. The one loaded after will kill the other in many regions including weathers. Sounds and weathers use the same region sections." What did he mean by this? Isn't that the point of the compatibility patches and having SoS/CoT - Sounds loaded BEFORE weather mods?
  15. Sorry to Interrupt, but if my install order is currently: SFO Regular Edition v186 LOD Regular Edition Update High-Res Pines Where do I put the new Dragonborn file? In between SFO Regular Edition v186 and LOD Regular Edition Update?
  16. Yessss :-). The reason why I dropped ESS was because of those two yellow boxes in the load order and also because the author of the CoT Snow Patch said this: "You should remove CoT-Sounds module (and any patches related to it) if you are using Expanded Snow Systems with Sounds of Skyrim. The problem is the compatibility patches - essentially it's a three-way conflict. ESS + SoS or CoT-Sound + SoS is fine with the appropriate patches, but use all three and the patches will overwrite each other. In your current load order the SoS-patches are overwriting ESS's, so you would never actually see the new weathers in most regions. I think that is why those two esp's are orange, though I don't use Bash myself so it's just a guess. Removing CoT-Sounds and the two SoS-patches related to it should solve the issue. That's what I would recommend, SoS covers most of what Sounds does anyway, so you don't really need it. If you're hell bent on using all three, you could merge the patches in TES5Edit, it's not too difficult to do. Otherwise, the load order is looking good." Removing CoT - Sounds did NOT solve that issue though. The only thing that turns the boxes green is moving ESS above SOS. It all got too confusing so I just dropped ESS since it's by no means a must-have mod.
  17. So besides the ESS files, that load order is correct?
  18. Ok, yea. I believe that is what my Load Order shows. Here is a picture of my load order as it is now. Ignore any ESS files. I have removed those. https://i.imgur.com/eWhuEc4.png
  19. Good call. I'll give that a try and report back.Â
  20. Where is PatchCoTSounds? Are you referring to the optional compatibility patches included with each SoS mod?
  21. I found an area with messed up textures. My guess is it comes from Realistic Texture Overhaul for Dragonborn (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/42348/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D42348%26preview%3D&pUp=1) although the mod author claims that it isn't his mod's fault. I've marked the location on a screenshot of my map as well as a picture of the issue. Let me know if you have any ideas!! https://imgur.com/Tqfodo5,rNc7K6G
  22. What do you guys think? Should I be using these two together with the compatibility patches offered by SoS? I can't tell if the Patches on the SoS Mod Sites are for CoT - Sounds only or for the entire mod? I get strange messages when running BOSS as well. It recommends me to activate those compatibility patches even when not using CoT - Sounds? Any guidance would be appreciated.
  23. I love the blue/orange in the cinematic enbs...for exterior locations. I hate it indoors. It makes things way too red/orange. I like my Skyrim to look Vibrant and Fantasy-like in the exteriors but I want the interiors (especially dungeons/caves) to be dull-colored, scary and depressing.Â
  24. K. I'll just ignore the yellow boxes. I'm sure its not that big of a deal.
