  1. In regards to this Lexy, I'm finally on the last part of this play through (LE), just Beyond Reach..though having a little issue with it...quests not triggering, and, to do the last LOTD quest, then i can finally say i have played Skyrim from start to finish. That said, is THE MAN still reading any of the comments...i would really love to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU TO HIM for his brilliant guide, that i have loved immensely (yes you TOO...your efforts on it). I guess he is busy with other endeavors and would appreciate it if you could mention this to him or if he would prefer a message direct. Once done, i can finally look forward to building the SE guide and enjoy the pains, frustration, hair pulling, tears, anguish etc that so many have ENJOYED HERE lol....only kidding of cause. All my best!!
  2. Lexy.....WOW, how has this guide gone from excel spreadsheet and thinking about putting together a SE guide, at the beginning on the year, to a full blown setup with dev team etc. Girl...when you set your mind to something, heaven and earth is moved (figuratively speaking)....AGAIN can only say WOW well done
  3. Wow a submariner and twenty years of it! hats off to you SIR...would have loved to have been in the navy, unfortunately not possible in the country i grew up in....still had time in the army and a sure way to grow up fast lol..have a wonderful night, speak again later
  4. Shadriss hi! Nah I'm not bashing teachers....they do a lot a good hard work etc. My friends wife is a teacher due to be vice head and i know she does a lot of work at home after time, and gets paid rather well with a healthy pension pot (supported by our taxes)......but have seen the amount of holiday she gets as well. Still i like to tease a little, as they get (in my opinion) more then what people realize...still good luck to them, as said they DO DO wonderful work and i know i could not put up with a bunch of kids all day, without climbing the wall....that said one person isn't the measure for all teachers. Good luck in your new career, you had a wonderful one to start with....i hope
  5. Ahh the joys of being a parent, the longggggggg school breaks, that teachers always tell us THEY NEVER have enough time off for, the cost of child care, the cost of holidays, the fights, the cries, the screams, the tittle tails of "MOM SHE DID THIS", and to think we chose to have kids....still there is light at the end of the tunnel with a tee shirt inscribed with "Been there, done that" the smirk on the face, self satisfied glow of smuggness...........WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE IS GRAND KIDS TO COME, and you are going to do what to me!!!! Oh God why ME!!!!!!!!!. P.S Lexy did Darth and the girls have a good birthday party on Saturday? Hope all was good and well
  6. Or he will have your second born as well!!!!!!
  7. VortigernBede Hi! No, if i remember Darth has said that there will still be answers to query's, but the response may not be as often or forthcoming as it was whilst the guide was still active...it is his baby after all lol. At present he is away with the family on holiday, and I'm sure there will be people still popping in from time to time. In terms of Lexy's guide, the beta testing is now largely redundant, as most of the mods to be in the guide are now in, bar a few well known authors mods, that still need to be ported to SE...and by all accounts its pretty stable and people are loving it. Personally i haven't started yet, as i built a new game mid Christmas on this guide, and am determined to complete a full run through, and not be sucked into the other game of "NON STOP MODDING". So for me i still have to do Skyrim Underground and Beyond Reach on my build...yes not on this guide, and then i will seriously get to modding SE...and yes it will be a stretch, new things to learn etc, but if we don't try we will never learn to expand our gaming knowledge.....any way best of luck
  8. RandolphCarter hi! Warning: THIS GUIDE IS NO LONGER BEING MAINTAINED OR IN ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY, as this warning is found on the top of the guides page, it explains why there will be mods out of date. As is, the guide is stable with conflicts resolved. If you update xp32 Maximum Skeleton Extended to the latest version or any other mods, you will have to do your own conflict patching. If you just wish to play and experience this guide, follow it as is, if you do not feel confident to fix problems yourself. Most Skyrim players have now moved on to the x64 bit Skyrim SE, and Lexy has a guide out based on this guide largely....https://wiki.step-project.com/User:DarkladyLexy/Lexys_LOTD_SE. The options should be pretty much the same, however i have not seen the newer version to say with certainty
  9. Baubledorst hi! I don't believe you can and yes i think it is random..hence why we keep the profiles for each merge and why its "Rebuilt each time" with updates etc. Also those merges that Relinker adjust........STILL i'm not technically minded it terms of how mods work etc and OPEN to be corrected by wiser heads here.........vaguely recall a similar question why back on LE guide being asked and if memory serves the answer was no on building on top of, an already built merge. As said if I'm wrong i would love to know the correct answer
  10. VortigernBede hi! This guide at present has come to a halt, in the sense that it, has stopped being updated, adding to and being maintained...largely due to the fact that most Skyrim players have moved on to Skyrim SE on x64 bit platform, that is more stable etc. Having said that, the authors of the guide have always maintained that the guide is simply that....A GUIDE. It's your game to use the guide as you see fit, to subtract from or add to. The only rule though, is that you will need to resolve an conflicts yourself. The guide as it stands is stable with all (or at least should be) conflicts resolve as is. Your best bet with LOTD v General stores is ask on the LOTD patch central page, on advise regarding the playing together...i sort of remember something along the line of what you have stated about autosorting, but they would be best to ask. With the other mods, most will have known conflicting mods on their web page..I'm sure you know this. So try creating a new profile in MO called test game, and enable the mods from the guide you wish to use, and add one new mod at a time and check for conflicts in xedit, it LOOT position and then try the mod in game. If all is well then the next etc, until you are happy, then go back to your main game profile and start a new game with those mods chosen. Off the top of my head i think there will be a conflict of interest with Signature Equipment, and The Great Equalizer...one scales you weapons up with your character, the other levels all weapons of like equal...though with TGE you can make a mod an exception as can be read on it's web page. Any way happy modding..PS responses here may be slow due to the reason mentioned above
  11. godescalcus hi! Well the Thalmor heard that you visited the priest of Talos at the Whiterun shrine, and agreeing with him on his preaching. Not to mention the fact that you proclaimed that you will worship whom you please...Thalmor be damned, and i will wear my Talos amulet.....besides they are the Thalmor..what excuse do they really need?. Shouting in Solitude "Up with the Stormclocks and Ulfric for high king, may have irritated the imperials a wee bit, and as to all that horker meat that you are carrying, it has drawn the attention of the dogs, who have decided Christmas has come early...I'm just saying!!!!!!! The first thought that came to mind whilst reading your query
  12. Meowww!!! lol....bit of tongue in cheek humor
  13. Small query boys and girls....I have just finished Falskaar on LE and found a bug with the boat travel, that leads to ctd, and a recommended fix was to use a mod called "IslandFastTravel". With the SE version of Falskaar 2.2, has this bug been addressed or will a alternative travel back to Skyrim mod be required?
  14. Swed_DR_Plastic hi! Just a little confused in regards to your post. Firstly if you are following the guide, then you know the preferred mod manager is Mod Organizer 1. NMM IS NOT RECOMMENDED as it has problems installing LOTD further into the guide properly(as you may read about on LOTD post page if you dig in it a little). MO is far better then it. Secondly, as mentioned on the prerequisite page, MANUALLY down load the SKSE plugin preloader, extract the d3dx9_42.dll and install in your skyrim folder, as you have already done. IF USING MO, open it and follow the link to crashfixplugin on nexus. Once there use the mod manager button under files, to have MO download it into it's download folder. Once done, then click on the download button in the right pane of MO and double click the downloaded crashfix plugin. It will ask you to name the folder if not automatically (crash fixes). Once installed, go on the left pane of MO where the new folder is, right click on it and then "open in explorer", and you should have a "skse" and a "meta i.n.i" file/folder. Double click the skse reveals plugins folder, double click this folder reveals three files (CrashFixPlugin.ini and CrashFixPlugin.dll and CrashFixPlugin_preload.txt). The instruction is only there in case the last mentioned .txt isn't found, then and only then, does it need to be created in Crash fixes/skse/plugins/ folder. Yes it can be done manually but NOT recommended, as MO will install the plugin exactly were it needs to be installed, and less likely for errors to occur, by manually installing....unless the guide SPECIFICALLY requires you to do so. The beauty of installing through MO is that when you double click to install, it shows you exactly what is going to be install and the file tree...i.e you name the file and click manual and it shows you the file tree...click the arrow to the left of skse, it shows plugins and again files in there proper order. Anyway hope this may help
  15. Kneph13 hi! I would respectively disagree here..i understand where you are coming from in terms of x64 v x32 platforms, but i started in mid December with a new game on the LE Darth's guide, with PCE(Palaces and castles enhanced), Clockwork Castle, Darkend, Beyond reach, Wyrmstooth, ETC, Settlements Expanded, JK's Cities lite, Raven Rock Expanded plus many more added on top of the guide. Yes i had to first create my own pre-smash as it were and forward the fixes to the Cr patch mod by Lexy, plus merging for space. I determined that i would see this game though to the bitter end, before completing my SE build. At present playing in Falskaar and only have Beyond reach, Vigilant, Undeath (my lest favorite mod) and misc. odd quest from notice boards, before i have done it all. SO the big question in terms of performance....maybe 10 ctd in all this time, and that normally if i have play for a long period of time before my cpu says enough for now. x64 will be much more stable and better, but that doesn't mean that you cannot achieve a stable game on x32 and crash fixes mod is a god send for this. If, by chances, i have misunderstood what you meant, my apologies before hand. PS loved your remark on the skooma looking eyes in the closed helm.......you can imagine what Darth faced each day when Lexy was on the skooma and red bull when putting this guide together in the early part on the year..lol love Darth and Lexy, but better duck out before she brings out the stick Godescalcus hi! Yes i have seen that mod...not into the wings so much, more the super woman flying style and for someone that love eye candy, cannot beat the view of the terrain from above...ta Good modding ALL!!
  16. Well then i'm truly an odd ball, as my favorite mode of transport is flying/levitating. Nothing like a birds eye view of the landscape etc. Lore wise......probably not since Oblivion, but was a spell in Morrowind and sure BEATS PONY RIDING and a sore backside lol
  17. For what it might be worth this is how i see it...Lexy's guide and that of Darth's, brings about a balance between realistic and game play styles. It try's to address the needs of people, with different play styles i.e those that love "realism" there are survival mods, combat mods etc. Those that just wish to experience and enjoy the game, there are enough quest, graphic mods etc to satisfy there needs. Its down to the individual to adapt the guide to their personal needs/requirements. I, for example, love to explore the world and so for me survival, combat, a realistic experience, are irrelevant in comparison to ambient/graphic mods, landscape, sounds and eye candy, and so i remove and adapt my game accordingly. If i find caves too dark, i use a ring or amulet of light ( preferred weapon a bow, so this frees the hands) to lighten the cave just enough to see clearly without losing the atmosphere etc. It would be impossible for Lexy to create a guide that's going to meet EVERY BODIES requirements, so this guide like Darth's is wonderfully put together to give a fair all round experience for all to enjoy......with their own tailoring added
  18. Shabdez and Blackjackel hi! From the time you press "New" game, All mods in your load order, have there information baked into you game save, literally from the start...hence as you know the golden rule to not remove mods on a play through(what you have, is what you end with). When mods are updated it's important to follow the mod authors instructions on "how to", to avoid problems in game. So removing or upgrading wrongly means the game, when loading, is looking for information from mods thats baked in and when it cannot find it, leads to ctd and problems...as the info has been removed/changed. Though at present I'm not using Resaver, it should be similar to saved game script cleaner tool (now outdated).....So with LOTD and the clear info on what scripts need to be cleaned, i first save, prior to updating and make a backup of that save. Update the mod and then clean/delete the save, of said scripts...then "Remove Scripts Attached to Nonexistent Created Forms(as with the old tool..I'm still at present on LE)", follow Resavers instructions. This then causes/forces, the game to now load and look for the "New" scripts and not the old scripts that have been removed....This is my understanding of this process, hope it may help and open to correction if wiser heads understand better..happy modding
  19. redirishlord hi! As stated I'm behind on the debated issue, when this was first brought up here around January/Febuary time. Due to life issues and wanting to finish LE completely first, i had installed this guide as far as running bash etc, and as per this guide. But this was brought up on the LE guide and i said to install as on Lexy's prereq. page, but this was questioned, and looking at the MO2 page i found that there sticky post states to place the MO2 outside of the game folder, and as i understand that means the steam folder, not skyrim special edition folder within steam. If my understanding is wrong it would be good to know so that i may adjust my install. In terms of problems it's to do with the way MO2 uses the virtual filing system...apart from CCleaner and it's advanced feature "windows events log" being unticked, reports to the MO2 team have suggested that if MO2 is installed in the games folder, it can mess with the virtual filing system that MO2 uses. As said, if I'm wrong in my understand i would appreciate any correction, and mentioned it for OCDCoder to consider whilst she may be reinstalling every thing, and not have to adjust later if this comes up again later
  20. OCDCoder hi! If you are going to reinstall SE from the start you may what to consider this......Apologies from the start Lexy, but this was brought up on LE guide in regards to MO2(people wanting to swap from MO). On the prereq. page as per Dirty Weasels video, MO2 is installed in the Skyrim/common folder.....but the instruction from the MO2 team is to install MO2 outside of the steam folder altogether, as problems have been reported if installed in the steam folder(i.e steam/steamapps/skyrim/common) with the virtual filing system....Quote form MO2 sticky post "MO2 should not be installed in the game folder as it can cause issues with the vfs(Virtual File System)". I know this was brought up at the beginning of this guide, and I'm a bit behind the ball on the outcome decided here, in regards to this issue...Hence apologies as stated at the beginning Lexy if this info is outdated. If my info/understanding is wrong will be good to know to adapt my install, if not then the prereq. page may need updating. Just thought i would bring it up, whilst you are still on the prereq. page
  21. Mcshame Hi! Nexus lists it as a "cheat mod".....but it is so much more then that. No issue compatibility wise. As said you have an esm and esp versions of the mod. I prefer the esm..more stable. In left pane of MO i have it near the bottom and LOOT places it up with the esm's. If you use it for the weight only, it's still worth it. The author has made this mod with different titles from Morrowind days through Oblivion, Skyrim and now Skyrim SE. He is well respected and you won't be disappointed.....create a new profile and load a new game with it only. Head to Riverwood from the Helgen cave with Hadvar and you will see it on your left..Dwemer Tower. Go in and see it's SO MUCH MORE and then decide if it's for you.....LOTD Deno's back pack will help as well besides those suggestions by Sirgeoff above post
  22. uncleseano hi! We used relinker on the LE version guide, to allow the badgremlin mods(something fishy, trophy heads etc) to be merged. Relinker then replaced the merged maps, scripts and renamed old plugin names form id, in order for the mew merged mod to work with LOTD....without it we would have been unable to merge these mods for space. That the team on LOTD have a pre-made merge of these mods that works with LOTD, may mean this(relinker) is no longer required, unless it for use here for other merges.
  23. Mcshame hi! If you don't mind a "cheat mod" and i use that term lightly, then install Levelers Tower mod esm version. It has a button in the lab section that can increase your carrying ability in fractions, i.e x10 x100 etc. I love this mod as it a great house mod as well, besides if you have started this game a zillion times, it allows you to establish a character from a chosen level, skill etc to start exploring this world without the tedious having to build skills, level up etc. Lastly it gives you a spell for a dimensional chest to carry all those found items with NO weight restrictions.....enjoy!!
  24. Mcshame thank you for the clarification....wasn't aware that this issue had been addressed...goes to show if you are not on top of this every day things fly under the radar so to speak. Greg hi! I sort of remember something similar (memory not what it was), but that it still reflected on Lexy's preq.page as such, thought that this was addressed. Though i have SE installed to the point of having to just run bash etc, i determined to finish this play through to the bitter end....otherwise end up on the never ending true game of modding and not playing.....Legendrodrigo and Hawkpath, go with Greg's advise and install MO2 in it's own folder.....from MO2 sticky post...- MO2 should not be installed in the game folder as it can cause issues with the vfs(Virtual File System)..Thanks guys, good to know help is there with faulty info.
