Please, I urge you to make a similar program to optimize Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It's a great game and I had been waiting for ages to play it, but when it finally got launched, I realized how horribly optimized it is and I can barely play it, even with a 6GB GTX 1060.

What Should my v-sync settings be?
Avastgard replied to HyperSlayer72's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Pardon me, but I'm not sure I understand what this setting will fix. Will it reduce normal stuttering or only microstuttering? I have recently started to experience some stuttering that I had not seen since I edited enblocal.ini according to the Step Guide. I had my game running pretty smoothly, but all of a sudden I started getting massive sutttering. I am currently trying everything I can to get rid of it or at least reduce it, but so far to no avail. -
Does the flickering you guys are mentioning include the situation in which, for example, a wall will be lit by the light of a torch I am carrying, but, depending on the angle I look at the wall, it will be dark (i.e., look as if there was no torch lit)? I've heard that this could be caused by too many light sources acting on the same object. Is that correct? Is there a way to fix that?

Here's the thing: I installed Enderal through Mod Organizer following Gopher's instruction video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C74LjT96pr0. Long story short, I created a profile where Enderal is the only mod installed. Will the ini files be correctly assigned to the Enderal profile folder in MO? If I tell BethINI to look there for the .ini files, will it change them correctly?
-
How exactly does the Enderal support work? On the drop down menu to choose the game there is no Enderal option, so how does Bethini know that I want to setup Enderal besides the path to the .ini? I would like to know this because I have been experiencing low framerate and a lot of stuttering even with my GTX 1060. I assume there is something not configured right.

Are you sure about this? I just had my laptop repaired and they said the weld that joins the GPU to the processor broke due to the heat. I don't know if this has anything to do with the tweaks I made.
-
Make sure to check your GPU's temperature often, then. I didn't even use ENB (only ENBoost) and my GPU got toasted (though I am not sure that was the reason).
-
Do not recommend it, unless you have very good cooling. I set mine to 64 and I suspect this is the reason my laptop's GPU has apparently fried!
-
Stuttering is my big issue as well. I play on a mid-range laptop (AMD Radeon R9 M265X) and, even though my FPS rarely drops below 40, the constant stuttering just kills what would otherwise be a smooth experience. My setting is ReservedMemorySizeMb=256. Should I lower it as well? P.S.: I have no graphical modification enabled, I just use ENB for performance improvement. EDIT: Does it make a difference if I use Crash Fixes by meh321?

SKYRIMLE Mod Organizer messes up load order when switching profiles
Avastgard replied to Avastgard's question in Mod Organizer Support
Yes. C:\Games\Mod Organizer C:\Games\Steam In the end I think it is only a matter of wating enough time until both lists update. Clicking the refresh button seems to solve the problem. However, I still hold on to my points about a more fleshed out load order backup system with the ability to name them for better sorting. -
SKYRIMLE Mod Organizer messes up load order when switching profiles

That's the problem. What sometimes changes for me are the mods that are ticked on the left-hand pane, which in turn alter the plugin list. -
SKYRIMLE Mod Organizer messes up load order when switching profiles
Avastgard replied to Avastgard's question in Mod Organizer Support
I mean the left-hand side, but it consequently affects the plugin list by inserting plugins that were not supposed to be there. I don't recall exactly, but I thnik it also removed some of the plugins that were supposed to be there as well. But I think that this may all be a matter of both lists failing to refresh correctly. I suspect that if you press the refresh button on the data tab enough times it may solve the problem, but I'm not trying that out. -
SKYRIMLE Mod Organizer messes up load order when switching profiles
Avastgard replied to Avastgard's question in Mod Organizer Support
I guess that's a way around it, but it may be more hassle than what I am facing right now. Are there any plans to address any of the issues I mentioned on MO 2.0? -
SKYRIMLE Mod Organizer messes up load order when switching profiles
Avastgard posted a question in Mod Organizer Support
Recently, I've been building two profiles on MO and switching from one to the other quite frequently. I have noticed, however, that sometimes this makes a mess on the plugin load order. E.g.: I see plugins X, Y and Z from profile A on the load order of profile B, when that shouldn't be the case, since X, Y and Z are only selected to be shown on profile A. This has caused me a huge pain in the neck, since I have been forced to reconstruct the load orders several times. On the current version, at least for me switching profiles is unreliable. This could be remedied if the backup load order was reliable, but it is not either. As far as I know, you can only back up 3 plugin lists and 3 mod lists, and none of them have names, only the dates and time when they were created. I don't even know if they are separated by profile. Honestly, I think that a tool as advanced as MO should have a more sofisticated back up system. You could at least have more than just 3 lists and be able to name them. This would make organization so much easier. Another suggestion, perhaps a more advanced one, is the option to sort the left-hand pane removing mods only from one profile only. I had not used MO for a while and decided to clean some of the unused (unchecked) mods from one profile, only to find out that removing the mod from the left pane removes it from all of the profiles. If making one modlist for each profile is not feasible, you could at least right-click the unchecked mod and have an option to hide that mod from the current profile. I know you can filter the mods by checked and unchecked, but sometimes it is useful to have some unchecked mods visible, but without cluttering the list with hundreds of other ones that you only use on another profile. -
Will the actual .ini show 4 or will it keep the number you set to? Because I am pretty sure that the .ini with the value 3 was the one I was using at the time this bug was happening. Are there any other changes spini makes that change anything else other than the two .inis? If no, then the problem should be on ENB, although the developer claims it has nothing to do with it.
-
So I updated to enbseries v. 0.305 and ran spINI again, and the problem is gone. I just don't know what fixed it. Comparing both my .inis (one from when this bug was happening and the other from after the bug was fixed), I just found one different line in SkyrimPrefs.ini: Old file (from when some objects were shown semitransparent): New File (fixed)
-
I am experiencing a bug that started happening shortly after I ran the spINI app and updated ENB (without graphical modification), so I am assuming it's one of those that caused it, most likely because I didn't set something correctly. Some meshes (or textures, not sure) that should disappear don't do so. The most notorious examples are flowers and other harvestable ingredients. After being harvested, instead of disappearing, they actually remain there, only a little more transparent than before. Similar behavior is also observed on other cases, like some banners in dungeons or the Hermaeus Mora tentacles inside Septimus Signus' Outpost. I could see them on the entrance before Mora's actual appearance and conversation with me. Recently, I also noticed that the Steel Horned Helmet is also showing up semitransparent. Could this be a problem with an ini setting?
-
Oh, running outside MO did it. No duplicate entries and everything neatly organized in alphabetical order. I'd rather run it from MO just to keep all my Skyrim apps in one place, but having to run it from outside is a small price to pay for such a convenient tool. Thanks for the help!

I never got this message. By initial location do you mean Documents\My Games\Skyrim? Or does it automatically recognize MO's custom path? As I said on the previous post, version 2.4 did apply the changes made from the app, even though I got the message saying I didn't have writing access and even though I didn't manually change the path to MO's custom folder. As thing are right now, I'd better stick to 2.4, which seems to be working fine except for the duplicate entries thing.
-
This is what happened when I ran 2.4: 1) Got two separate messages saying the ini's could not be backed up because I didn't have writing access to Documents/My Games/Skyrim. This is not true, I have writing access to that folder, but I didn't have any ini's there previously because I use MO; 2) When I originally tried v. 2.4, I clicked OK for both messages and the app started. I changed the path to the ini's and didn't get the warning from item 1 again. I didn't actually change the ini's because they were already good enough for me. On the second time I ran 2.4, for troubleshooting purposes, I didn't change the ini path and ran the app. It edited the correct ini files on the correct MO location, even though the path was still incorrect on the first tab. I still got the duplicated entries bug, though. Nothing was changed on Documents/My Games/Skyrim. This is what happens when I run 2.4.1: I) I get one message saying that the ini's could not be backed up because I didn't have writing access to Documents/My Games/Skyrim and that the app will shut down. Can't you just allow the app to run so we can change the path to the ini files? Also, wouldn't it be a good idea to make spINI create a SkyrimCustom.ini file to overwrite Skyrim.ini and thus keep the original .ini intact?
-
I can't run the latest version because it tells me I don't have writing access to the Skyrim.ini location and closes the program. I'm pretty sure this is because I am using MO (and therefore have Skyrim.ini in a different location). This happened with version 2.4, but then the program would start and allow me to set the correct location for the ini's. With this version, I can't do anything.

Thanks for this update! It's a major improvement on user interface (being able to select ini location and the added tooltips).
