  1. double post...still need help w/ this one though. Thanks.
  2. MO is not updating itself with the new info after I generate each of the three patches. Instead, the files and folders from each of these three patches appear in Overwrite section only after I finish generating ALL THREE of the patches. Not helpful at all, seeing as I need to be working with each in isolation to complete the Create Mod function in Overwrite. So, with files and folders from the three patches listed below, I was didn't want to do the "Create Mod" action for the Overwrite b/c that would have created a combination of three mods. MO is making this process more difficult than it need be, by not reflecting the changes I make by following the applicable numbered steps for each patch below. For example, I rebuild the bashed patch and then open MO, but there's nothing in the Overwrite section (text is still greyed out, not red) and right-clicking Overwrite doesn't give me a Create Mod option. I am running MO 1.2.9. Anyone have any advice? MO-relevant steps below, which I cannot complete until the files and folders are visible in the Overwrite folder 3.A.2. Create the Bashed Patch Users: After closing Wrye Bash and returning to MO, the "bashed patch, 0.esp" will be located in the "Overwrite" folder. A different Bashed Patch can be created for every MO profile, so it is advised to move the Bashed Patch and its data to a separate mod folder. Simply right click the "Overwrite" folder and select 'Create Mod', then name it. Example is STEP Core Bashed Patch. You will then need to check it to enable it. Each subsequent time you rebuild the patch, you must open Overwrite and drag the new files back to this mod. 3.A.3 Fore's New Idle System (STEP Extended Only) Users: After closing FNIS, there shall be files in Overwrite (essentially a fake mod located at the bottom of the left pane if sorted by priority ascending) created by FNIS. Right-click Overwrite and select Create Mod, name it FNIS Output and click OK. This will create a new mod listing in the left pane for the FNIS generated files. You will then need to check it to enable it. Each subsequent time you update FNIS behavior, you must open Overwrite and drag the new files back to this mod. 3.A.4. Dual Sheath Redux Patch (STEP Extended Only) Users: After closing the Dual Sheath Redux Patch, there shall be files in Overwrite (essentially a fake mod located at the bottom of the left pane if sorted by priority ascending) created by DSR. Right-click Overwrite and select Create Mod, name it DSR Output and click OK. This will create a new mod listing in the left pane for the DSR patch generated files. You will then need to check it to enable it. Each subsequent time you rebuild the patch, you must open Overwrite and drag the new files back to this mod.
  3. Even though it's a non-MO, shouldn't I move the bashed patch, 0 to the final priority item in the Mod column, so that it appears in teh Overwrite section? Thanks. It's currently inbetween the Further Dark Dungeons for ENB (also non-MO) and Hearthfires.
  4. OK. I unchecked the UnofficialHighResolutionPatch.esp. I don't see the UnofficialHighResolutionPatch.bsa listed in my MO Archives tab, though. There is no UnofficialHighResolutionTexturePatch in the MO Archives at all. Maybe I installed the non-BSA verison by mistake? I do have the three HighResTexturePack.bsas checked. Edit- I think I solved this. I redownloaded the UHRP and did a manual install, making sure to uncheck the esp. Now the bsa is in the MO Archives tab. I was able to rebuild my bashed patch. Thanks.
  5. Resuming this topic since I am just now getting back to the bashed patch rebuilding: There are not 3 Highres packs listed in Wryebash. There is only the Unofficial High Resolution Resolution Patch, and it is red not green. In MO, the three HighResTexturePack esps are dummy files (in italics): "It exists only so the BSA with the same name gets loaded." Instead, I have each HighResTexturePack.bsa checked in the MO Archives tab. Something must not be working right though, becuase Wrye Bash is not happy about how these texture packs are installed, and tells me so with that message I quoted in my first post. What should I do here?
  6. For some reason, Dual Sheath Redux Patch.esp is at the very end of the install list after BOSS runs, even after the bashed patch, 0.esp. I haven't used Wrye Bash yet to rebuild my bashed patch, if that's a factor. Is there some tweaking in BUM I need to do to move Dual Sheath Redux Patch? Mod Order has it listed as 7A in the Mod Index, after 79, which is the bashed patch Thanks.
  7. I clicked the Installers tab in Wrye Bash and got this message while it was loading: Traceback (most recent call last): File "bashbasher.pyo", line 5159, in OnShowPage File "bashbasher.pyo", line 3821, in OnShow File "bashbosh.pyo", line 9128, in refresh File "bashbosh.pyo", line 7422, in refreshSizeCrcDate File "bashbolt.pyo", line 1191, in size File "genericpath.pyo", line 49, in getsizeWindowsError: [Error 3] The system cannot find the path specified: u'F:Steam LibrarySteamAppscommonSkyrimDataSoundVoiceSkyrim.esmfemaleargonianvoicepowers_shout01b_000683b1_1.fuz' I have finished a STEP Extended install and am about to build my bashed patch.
  8. I encounter this message when I start Wrye Bash 304.3 Is this somehting I need to fix? Thanks.
  9. Finishing up a STEP Extended install and don't see a clear answer as to what the order is for the final two- is it STEP EXtended Patch, then Bashed Patch, or the other way around? Thanks. Also, if someone could sanity check my BOSS load order, that would be much appreciated. Thanks. 10. Thanks. I was able to add a rule for SMIM-Merged-All.esp based on his page. However, I didn't see advice on where to place the AOS2.esps I have; AOS2_EBT Patch, GDO Patch, RealisticWaterTwo Patch, and WAF Patch. Neovalen's guide only offers advice for this variant of AOS2: BOSS Masterlist Update Required: (Updating Guide) AOS2_CoT3_1_patch.esp AFTER AOS_COT Patch.espI don't have the CoT3_1_patch. Could someone help me create rules for the AOS2 esps I listed above? Becuase the STEP recommendations for Extended STEP users who use the STEP Extended Patch is as follows: For STEP Extended users that are NOT using the STEP Extended Patch, also get the following optional files: AOS_Enhanced_Blood_Textures_Compatibility_PatchAOS_Guard_Dialog_Overhaul_Compatibility_PatchAOS_Realistic_Water2_Compatibility_PatchAOS_Unofficial_Skyrim_PatchAOS_Weapons_and_Armor_Fixes_Compatibility_PatchAOS_Wet_and_Cold_Compatibility_Patch Does that mean that I can remove the AOS EBT Patch, AOS GDO Patch, AOS2 and Realstic Water Patch esps from Mod Ogranzier? Currently they are in my Plugins tab, but are unchecked. Sounds like I can remove them though b/c I have the STEP EXtended Patch. Correct? Edit---Hmmm, I cannot remove them from the MO Plugins tab, only disalbe them. Any advice how I should proceed? I found the SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG+ DB.esp instructions a bit confusing, too. OSS Masterlist Update Required: (Updating Guide) SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB + FS + WT.esp AFTER SkyFalls + SkyMills Total edition.espSkyFalls DB + FS Small Waterfalls.esp AFTER SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB + FS + WT.esp I am using SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG+ DB.esp so I am ignoring the above and using STEP's advice: Currently BOSS doesn't recognize the Skyfalls + Skymills + DG + DB.esp, so you will have to manually move it in your load order to come immediately after Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp. LOOT users disregard. Last but not least, does the STEP Extended Patch go before or after the bashed patch? Based on the STEP page, it's not clear where exactly in the install the STEP Extended Patch goes (only that it's towards the end). BOSS doesn't recognize it. Thanks.
  11. Hey folks...I'm at 1.2.7. Should I update to 1.2.9?
  12. OK just read that. Thanks. I grabbed the Bring Out your Dead compatible version. Was that what you had in mind?
  13. Hmmm not seeing anything Extended related in STEP for Consistent Older People: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19730/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D19730&pUp=1 Core users NOT using the STEP Core patch install DiversePriests_ConsistentOlderPeoplePatch.esp. Extended users NOT using the STEP Extended Patch install DiversePriests_ConsistentOlderPeoplePatch.esp and DiversePriests_BringOutYourDeadPatch.esp.
  14. based on the descriptions on the STEP install page, I just found Realistic Ragdolls and Force, which I don't need to install since I'm using the STEP Extended Patch. Ditto this: Extended users NOT using the STEP Extended Patch install DiversePriests_ConsistentOlderPeoplePatch.esp and DiversePriests_BringOutYourDeadPatch.esp. I don't have any of these mods installed. Are there any other mods anyone can think of that I will need to change from a Core variant to an Extended variant? Thanks.
  15. OK. Can you take a look at my prior post re: BUM, which I admit to being confused about. Many thanks.
  16. This isn't necessarily a problem, but I just realized this (haven't finished the install yet, just installed all the files, then ran BOSS and then cleaned dirty edits through TESEdit.). I know this will require a few changes. For example, I replaced the STEP Core Patch with the Extended Patch. And I will follow those final steps (3.A.3 and 3.A.4) for Fore's New Idle and Dual Sheath Redux. Are there other files I will need to replace in my load, ones where I had to choose between a Core and an Extended version, since I would have chosen incorrectly. Thanks a lot.
  17. Oh, I just realized that I did a full, extended STEP install, not a Core one. I installed everything on the list, not just those with the green Core Mod bar. So please ignore all mention of Core in earlier posts. My bad. I guess that means I better replace my STEP core patch with the extened patch. Are there other considerations I will need to go back an adjust for?
  18. No offense to the creator of BUM, but I don't find the instructions terribly clear. I know he (or she) knows how to use the app, so it's probably quite clear. I've read them a few times now and still cannot figure out how to use it properly. For example, I found Skyfalls + SkyMils + DG + DB and assigned Add>After> and then typed Ultimate HD Candle Flames in the After field. BUM lists that rule status as Invalid and "Sort Object (Ultimate HD Candle Flames) is not defined i teh Masterlist of Userlist. I haven't figured out how to fix this, based on the instructions. Maybe it's just me, but more user-friendly/hand holding help documentation and explanation on the STEP install page would be a godsend. I am *this* close to finishing my STEP core install, with BUM and Bashed Patch being the last steps. Thanks in advance to anyone who can walk this noob through the process. Thanks.
  19. Though at this point I do have a basic/top-level question: I have BUM open now, but it occurs to me that I don't know where the mods in red under Generated Rules should go in the Core STEP load order. (Skyfalls + Skymills + DG + DB, STEP Core --last I know, SMIM-Merged, AOS2 WAF, AOS2 Realistic Water Two Patch, AOS2 GDO, AOS2 EBT Patch-- none of these AOS2 are in the STEP Core patch) Is there a list of the load order for the final default Core STEP install posted somehere? Maybe it is the same as the install order that is posted on the STEP guide? Edit- thanks for your quick reply. Our posts crossed. :-)
  20. OK figured it out. Thanks.
  21. I am using the SMIM Merged, which has several patches that the STEP Core patch does not: Farmhouse flickering, Shackroof fixes, Dungeons Cliffs Ice Skirts, etc. What would the best procedure be, still use the SMIM Merged? It's only two esps that are redundant- Furniture Chest Snow and DragonbornTern Fix
  22. So I read Neovalen's guide but his mentions of BUM assume the user has a working knowledge of it. Which I don't. I ran BUM from MO and see the BOSS Userlist Manager Settings window, but there's no embedded help or help button that links to help. I haven't seen any good documentation on how to use BUM and I did look. I think it would be great if the STEP team could provide a brief how-to on their BUM page: https://wiki.step-project.com/BOSS_Userlist_Manager Basically, I am not sure what I need to enter in the fields in the Game Configuration screen. I assume BOSS program is the link to my BOSS.exe. Masterlist Path, Mod Path, and User Game (I have already selected Skyrim in the Game Selector drop box) are confusing to me. and I don't know if I need to adjust any of the options in the Preferences window. I am nearly finished with a core STEP install, and ran BOSS and took its advice on cleaning dirty edits. It found 7 unrecognized plugins (SkyFalls & Skymills & DB & DG, SMIM-Merged, AOS2 EBT Patch, AOS2 GDO Patch, AOS2 Realistic Water Two Patch, AOS2 WAF Patch, STEP Core Patch). So I would like to use BUM to order these. Thanks.
