  1. Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for this guide. Using with STEP Extended + Visual Overhaul, I am really enjoying the game. I ended up going with SPERG only because I've already tried SkyRe about a year ago: wanted to try something new. There's definitely a lot to configure initially but then it gets out of your way and let's you play. I am curious if anyone has tried Sneak Tools and if it is worth it? In Oblivion, I have a Khajiit who uses gas and water arrows - it's a lot of fun. Am curious to try something similar in Skyrim. Regardless, keep up the good work with this guide! Truly appreciate it :)
  2. I've done Gopher's Fallout 3/NV mod tutorials, which are really well done. But they aren't on the level of SR/STEP. I'd definitely support something like this for Fallout and even Oblivion!
  3. Fortunately, I haven't had any crashes or freezing in combat. But, I do concur about the AI. In my new playthrough I was heading up to Bleak Falls Barrow and my fight both at the Tower and at the entrance was totally different than I remember in vanilla. Enemy archers stayed at a distance and used trees for cover, only to pop out to take a shot at me. I got flanked several times at the Tower as well. I can't really talk about staggering as I don't use melee/close combat often but I can say when I stagger its the same animation regardless of weapon hit (not sure if this is engine limited, although he says in his critique it can be varied).
  4. So, first time I ran SUM I did not check 'Merge Patches'. So I have a couple .esp patches in my load order. If I go back and do 'Merge Patches', do I just delete the existing ones first? Is there any benefit to merging the patches (ASIS, Dual Sheath, Reproccer)? I'm not close to the 250 esp zone yet.
  5. Wow, impressive read. I'm not qualified enough to lean one way or the other, and I only played vanilla briefly. But I don't remember the enemy tactics when using archery, for example, being as varied as they are when Duel is enabled. I could be wrong though and now I'm interested for sure.
  6. Hey, congrats Aiyen! *endorsed* Really good work man.
  7. How much of a difference memory-wise will using the Lite Skyrim HD packs get me? I'm getting CTD around Whiterun and although my VRAM is showing 1650mb usage, in Task Manager Skyrim is eating 3.1GB...which will CTD the game, right?
  8. Just so I understand this right: I would still pick a perk (say, Marksmanship, from SkyRe) and then this mod will do the math to distribute to the Health-Stamina-Magicka points? If so, I'll have to try this out. I really dislike vanilla Skyrim's stat system - much prefer Oblivion's.
  9. If we use DoF with the ENB, do we need it enabled in the .ini? Does it even matter?
  10. Yup, had same problem and using the fomod installer worked. Had a similar issue with another mod before so, fortunately, I knew to go that route.Â
  11. Enjoying the ENB so far. Usually around 35fps for me. Have had a couple CTD but for the most part its been stable. I did download a DoF pack from Nexus and am using a static DoF - just personal preference. Hey Aiyen, is it supposed to get this dark when cloudy? This was at 3:15pm.
  12. So far, SIC has been running well for me (ASIS, SkyRe, High Level). I'm still hanging around Riverwood though so have only ran into a couple monsters from the mod. Loving the mod so far.
  13. Comparing the screenshots from Dungeon Treasure and Skyrim Coin Replacer, I much prefer the look of the latter. The appearance of the SCR coins is more realistic for the setting.I agree. Is there a mod or an edit where we can replace 'Septim' with 'Gold'? Or vice versa? It seems that some places in the game refer to it as Gold and some places its Septim. Septim is the proper term (according to every other elder scroll game in existance but skyrim).Right, but when you look in your Inventory screen it says Gold on the bottom. Guess its just an oversight from Beth?

  15. Is Realistic Room Rental working correctly for others? I checked in TESEdit and am not seeing any indication of an overwrite but Riverwood Trader is still at default 10 gold.
  16. I installed Higher Level Enemies - Hardcore and its made the game really tough (and actually how I want it). I am able to be deadly as archer but just 2 hits from a wolf and I wipe. We'll see how this plays out later in the game but I'm satisfied for now. Thanks for the help here :)
  17. I messed around with RealVision as well as E ENB Final (which I just happened by on Nexus). I actually like E ENB outside but it does give a more fantasy feel which a lot of folks don't like. RV is pretty good, too.
  18. Thanks, Neo, I completely overlooked the actual mechanics of the mod  I have been watching Gopher and I just never put 2 and 2 together. I did install ERSO with its leveling module and everything is working as intended (hard enemies in the wild, ass kicked in Embershard). I'll keep playing with SkyRe to see if I can find a good balance. Will increasing in-game difficulty help at all?
  19. I read that the latest version of Afterburner (3.0.0 beta 9 I think) works with ENBs, but I haven't tried it out myself. I personally use EVGA Precision X (latest version), but I don't do any overclocking with it. It works fine with any ENB, but I only use it to control the GPU's fan and to see the temp on my gaming keyboard's LCD. Good call man. Just updated and it works, thanks.
  20. Is there a trick to getting ENBs to load when using SKSE? Whenever I install the .dll and enb files, I get CTD before main menu loads. Edit: Nevermind, Afterburner was causing the CTD.
  21. Thanks. How would I go about finding what mod is conflicting? Up to this point I've only modded with guides or not had glaring issues with conflicts. Do I load up my entire order in TES5Edit? I did try using SkyRe's scaling and had the same result.Â
  22. I must have messed something up but on Expert I'm still one-shotting enemies. I use Alternate Start and I started out near Helgen with just a long bow and I was able to take down any wolves, bandits, and even elk with just one hit. Certainly something is screwed up? My mods again are SkyRe (no level scaling), ASIS, Duel, the reproccers, High Level Enemies. Is this due to encounter zones from SkyRe since Helgen is a starting point maybe?
  23. Immersive Potions was great in my last build - I loved the time healing. There was a similar mod for Oblivion...this is how the potions should have been in vanilla. My only use for alchemy has been to craft healing potions (playing as a ranger). Since I don't use magic, relying on pots is a necessity. I don't remember now what mod I was using before but it really jacked up the prices and lowered availability in shops of pots and I couldn't sell for anything worthwhile (it would take a ton of time to make a living off it). But, I definitely see the gamey-ness of alchemy and I agree, the system really needs an overhaul. Hopefully one of these days.
