  1. Well Skyrim is what made modding popular in the mainstream scene, at least in more recent times. So it sounds reasonable that if you start something like monetizing mods for various games (allegedly they are going to do this for other games, my only hope being Bohemia (Arma) rejects a similar deal) to start from the bigger one. Also, Bethesda. Recent experiences with Zenimax Online ( Owned by Zenimax who owns Bethesda) has shown me the truth regarding them. There's many reasons why you might object to such a system as a developer, and if there is one company that doesn't give a damn about it, it probably is Bethesda.
  2. Nope. Aside from stuff I make for myself that I can't share due to copyright issues.
  3. Well, I know that STEP does not endorse this (obviously) but, if this kind of logic continues I will not be ashamed to hoist the Jolly Roger. Thank the lord for living in a backwater country where it's totally safe :P Support the developers, they said. Until they start milking you.
  4. Are you out of your mind? :P There's profit to be had. I think the last year or so major companies are testing the waters for even more aggressive monetization.
  5. Two things I'm curious about. This was known from the beginning, it's apparent, as some authors launched with it. The question is how were those people "chosen" and on what basis. Secondly, I wonder how customer protection EU laws apply to this. There are many problems with modding, and it's inherent to it. The issue only arises when we're talking monetization. On a sidenote, it's already happening, I see a couple mods already pulled from the Nexus and posted on the Workshop. Many will follow suit, I suppose.
  6. Well, you could try using the nifskope settings you just linked? I think you're paying too much attention to detail :P
  7. Haha, this got me intrigued. Anyone installed the ESP yet ? :P EDIT: I'd also like to suggest this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64282/?. Seems like a nice addition to immersion.
  8. It's just the linen. Linen is so tough to get right with textures, too low res and it's blurry, too sharp and it looks more ugly.
  9. I don't think the top one is worse, especially with ENB.
  10. Hmm with 0 mods enabled? Rose tinted glasses at it.
  11. Don't think this is a vanilla problem. It's a head mesh missmatch afaik (hair mesh is bigger than the head mesh). Or might just be the specific hairstyle (I have some too on some ghouls).
  12. Had no idea what this was. Googled. Best 10 minutes of my day. Thanks :D
  13. <- Forever alone T.T But nah, yeah, it can get inconvenient.
  14. Dunno, I'm using Voice Attack for Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous (or rather, used to use) and stopped using it because I felt awkward talking to my computer :P
  15. Aaaaaah someone help, I'm drowning in items! Please tell me one of the mods adds sortomatic function to the Novac room house?
  16. I mostly want to see a better engine, one that allows more PC resources to be used. The modding scene will take care of the rest. Oh and... if they keep the theme of "spells equipped in the hand" (which is something I completely dislike in skyrim), then at least add working bastard swords that can be used in one or two hands.
  17. I use the F&L recommended settings, looks fine to me.
  18. Souds oddly familiar to my issue... Is Experimental AI on in your MCM ?
  19. Thank you for pointing it out, at least I can be assured that it's not a major ****up on my part. Kill/Ressurect works for the time being. EDIT: Another issue I found but quickly resolved is enemy NPCs pausing in the middle of battle, doing nothing, just staring at me, unequipping their weapons. The fix was to untick experimental detection AI in PN, some 4 hours played now and it hasn't manifested again, while it was pretty consistent before (every second bandit camp or so). PS: Why does Google spell-check not include unequip and untick? :S EDIT 2: @Jax765 as Ess said, you can either keep the esp or hide. I have kept it, I think the moon needs to be slightly bigger (Using the F&L Suggestion). But then again, I'm a Greek that's never been to the Mojave, so I go by what feels right in my mind. And a big moon definitely feels right. EDIT 3 (because these forums tend to double-post and I don't like double-posts): The nuka cola mod is not just a texture replacer, also includes a higher poly mesh as far as I know. So yeah, if your system is already strained it's going to eat up resources.
  20. In my humble opinion, let MN replace RWL. So right before MN. EDIT: Words.
  21. It is supposed to be lighter than NS. Also, I quite like the "clear" weather lighting conditions more than the NS ones. Nevada skies adds many weather types, and it's what it does best. RWL is better at lighting but closer to vanilla weather. Personally, I just don't like many of the weather types introduced by Nevada Skies.
  22. Nope, I installed F&L, with the exception of Nevada Skies and an ENB (Got RWL instead). I went to the FNV wiki and grabbed all the codes for the merchants thinking I'd spawn each one of them and see which ones were nude. Turns out, if I spawn the same code sometimes they're naked (Carrying 2 stormchaser hats instead of one and no armor) and soometimes they're not. I'm not really sure how leveled lists work in FNV or how actors get their gear so I can't say any more than that. EDIT: Well I'm done checking them all up on FNEdit, only thing that touches them is FNV Redesigned (both esm and esp) and they don't touch the leather armor equipment. Only difference is some head morphs and the "Can be any race" flag.
  23. I personally am liking RWL more. About performance, I can't tell any difference. I do have a very good rig though. I have encountered an issue, and it's one of the annoying ones that you find mid play-through and ruins it because I think it has to do with leveled lists and if it's anything like Skyrim I'm guessing I might have to start over. I encountered a naked Travelling Merchant. At first, I thought it might have been the Spice Of Life ENB bug, but I killed her and she didn't carry an outfit at all. Checked with FNVEdit, id was 163cbb, only mod that touches those is FNV redesigned 3. EDIT: I just remembered something more. The convict leader in Primm's Bison hotel was also nude. I didn't pay much attention to that then (I thought that was the case in Vanilla as well, since he is in the bed area when you walk in, don't judge). He is supposed to wear a Leather Armor, which the merchants also wear afaik. Might it be that it's a variant from Spice of Life that is missing or something?
  24. Yet another question by yours truly, but, the ARMA 3 collimator optics tech has clearly spoiled me, and I happened on this awesome mod on the Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/58496/? There is supposedly some incombatibility with WMX, but, other than that, has anyone used it with a F&L install and if so, what issues arose?
  25. Enough spam for the day on my part, just wanted to say for the curious, ended up uninstalling Nevada Skies and Getting FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting (ENB version) along with Darker Nights and using Onix ENB. Game looks phenomenal, for its age. Especially some interiors. As for some of my other issues, let's just say i'm an idiot and leave it at that, shall we ?
