  1. Fixed. Went completely wrong way about it. Disabling game vsync still seams to increase performance. Rebuilding everything with dyndolod, lodgenx and reinstalling ENB solved the problem. How do I delete this? Sry.

Impact of disabling all effects of ENB during testing in laggy areas is marginal at best (virtualy no change). Removing ENB completely caps everything at 60 FPS. FPS never goes below 30 (29.9). Whenever game switches from 60 to 30 there is very annoying, pretty bad stutter. Except when vysync is off completely and FPS is caped at 60 or "uncapped". A lot of stutter is resolved by iFPSClamp=50. Conclusions: 1) Vsync sucks. 2) iFPSClamp is by far the most performance degrading/improving setting due to stuttering. 3) I have no idea what is actually causing lag spikes. An example of consistent massive drop due to minor camera angle adjustment. It alwasy happens in that exact place: Some test cases. Sometimes inconsistent performance and results: Looking to the west of the first stone (lake) gets me 60 FPS. Looking to the east (waterfalls, Riverwood, water mill) results in 30 FPS. Waterfall in particular seams to be the cultrip. Road between stone and Riverwood fluctuates between 30 and 60 (has other values) so is coc whterun area. Clamp 50 improves situation. Game becomes very much playable at 30 fps with noticeable stuttering such some areas. Ocasional texture flicker. Impact on FPS is unclear. Temple across river from stone in Riverwood has one of the stairs textures flickering. Drops FPS to 30. Rare fence flickers seam to have no(?) impact. Using blacksmith wheel anywhere or watching blacksmith use a wheel has a slight impact of 0-10 fps, sometimes drops all the way to 30. Coming back to same NPC and it is fine. Mostly fixed by clamp 50. Solitude produces no noticeable lag except for blacksmith on the sharpening wheel. Honningbrew Meadery was a constant source of lag. Increasing clamp to 50 solves the problem. Changing it to 0 while game is running makes it come back very quickly but not at first. Need to walk around.
  3. I keep mods for all games in the same folder like so: .\Games\Mods\Skyrim\Tools So I am assuming TexGen checks for a "Skyrim" string in the path and if it is found terminates. Might I suggest to check for the presence of Skyrim.exe as well?
  4. Thanks for info fischer98, helped with research. So far I got: MO and Skyrim under Wine 2.11-staging work out of the box. As in so far so good. MO has minor glitch when moving stuff in the list. Mouse out and back in for quick refresh. To get full functionality with MO nexus installer (NCC?) you will need .NET 4+ and 2010 distributable. POL scripts are kind of broken. Run POL dotnet 4.0 installer. It is sufficient. If you try to run POL dotnet 4.5 you will suffer. To get FNIS to work copy tools folder to actual Skyrim install Data folder. Should remove "File not found" error. To get skyproc to work get jre-8u5-windows-i586. Do NOT use latest. It will fail. It installs on 2.11-staging without any problems. May not be true for earlier versions. Pre wine 2.0 partially fails with errors and a PITA workaround is needed. Files dumped in overwrite folder make bad things happen if you move them using MO or wine file manager. When Overwrite is created, create new mod and move it using Linux file manager inside wine bottle to be safe. Delete it every time you generate new files. Still working on wrye bash and ENB solutions. From the look of it use of ENBs is problematic but possible.

You must have "skyrim/data/skse/skse.ini" file (inside MO works) present containing something along the lines: [Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 //try 1024ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 // try 512 This should solve most stability issues regarding resource allocation. As for your mods that's a whole different story. I suspect that "safety load" is no longer required, but just to be safe.
  6. Before you touch uGrids value you should make sure you have a decent rig that can handle it. Get SKSE 1.7.0 alpha as it contains memory patch mention in STEP. It is stable and is required by some newer mode anyway. After that you need to add or edit "skyrim/data/skse/skse.ini" file. Include this: [Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 Find somethng called "Safety Load" and install it in the same way you installed "Cell Stabilizer uGridtoload" Find "EWIs High SkyrimPrefs and inis" on nexus. These are by no means set in stone but they are good ini files to start with. Now finish STEP install and make sure it works decently because higher uGrids values will not make your system happy. Especially if you use ENB. If not the case it is probably not a good idea to raise uGrids. Stick with high performance ENB and use Depth of Field to mask ugly portions of landscape. I do have to say that imo uGrids 7 without DOF is much better than high performance ENB with DOF enabled. Read this among other things and look at uGrids 7 value: https://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1274926-ugridstoload-skyrimini-comparisons-and-explanation-default-57911/ iPreloadSizeLimit can and probably should be set higher on a decent system. It is not a good idea to set above 7 as it breaks or makes some quests impossible (you will fail before you get there) to complete. That is among other things that will prevent you from even getting there. May be you can get away with 9 which is not much of an improvement over 7. I am currently running uGrids 7 with 2048 textures at a stable 30 frames or so on a GTX 760 4G. It was not a walk in the park to get it to work smoothly.
  7. Once in a while for no appearant reason skyrim chooses to ignore ini camera settings and moves camera just a bit to the left. I use overhead centered 3rd person camera which is may be why it becomes so obvious. The ammount is small but extremly annoying. During transition from 1st to 3rd person camera goes exactly where it is supposed to be according to settings then slooowly shifts to the left by about 1 unit. Same happens with tfc console command. This offset stays with save files so reloading game doesn't help. I found some people describing same issue (wearewolf transition) on consoles so I am reasonably sure this is not some mod. Is there a way to fix this?
  8. I am trying to combine STEP:Core + mostly graphics mods from STEP:Extended + survival mods + Requiem. Cloned a copy of a Core profile, added XP32, FNIS, DSR, body replacer, COT+RLO for realvision enb, other non significant mods. I used boss to sort load order and used BUM to place very basic Requiem setup via instructions by Smile44 (https://wiki.step-project.com/Pack:Base_Requiem). Tried to find as many patches as possible. It works... kinda, until it doesn't. There is something very wrong going on internally and the only reason I can think of right now is load order. I also suspect I missed a compatibility patch or 2. Eventually one of the games doesn't load about an hour in. Also I noticed at some point that racemenu sliders get insane values (hello buffer overflow?). CPU and RAM are ok, GPU gtx770 at ~90% @ 3/4 gigs. I am using memory patch and after playing around with inis, performance and load times turned out pretty good. All vanila and dlc textures were optimized.   9. Not sure if anyone knows but I just looked over skse 1.7.0 alpha and it appears it includes memory patch. It is also quiet stable from what people are saying. So if you have any test mods that require 1.7.0, switching is as easy as drag and drop.

Currently SKSE crashes at launch, LOOT reports that "none of the supported games were detected", wrye bash crashes instantly and scyproc (DSRedux) reports that another mod "has some missing masters", all 4 main ones. In fact all mods report missing main master files but mods that have other mods as masters do not. So only skyrim and assets are gone. I made no changes to anything except for mods. Skyrim and skse still work from their actual location. Restarting computer has no effect.
  11. Well I like how entire installer tab in wrye bash works. You get very quick access to all sorts of information. For example conflicts tab can be open at all times unlike in MO where you have to click couple of times to get to it. You can also quickly select sub packages and esps in bain archives without going though wizard every time or at all. Would be interesting to try to use wrye bash as an installer for MO or have something similar as a part of it.
  12. It appears it was something stupid. I made a mistake with animations and DSR was working all along. *facepalm*
  13. If the mod actually does something and you disable esp, it's not going to work bsa or no bsa. So Unofficial High Resolution Patch can be disabled no problem while Follower Trap Safety should not. Follower Trap Safety contains scripts which you need to run using esp because they don't run themselves. So if esp uses assets in any way, don't disable it. Probably MO has a way to figure out if esp actually uses assets of bsa and that is how it can tell you that it is a "dummy" file.
  14. Until now I've been using wrye bash and decided to try out MO. Nice program with interesting features though I do miss at least one thing from bash. Anyways... I did read how to properly use DSR with MO which is: generate files and drop those in a mod (for fff.. neatness sake). I checked don't know how many times if all the freaking requirements are there. And nothing. I just don't know what to do at this point. Did I miss something completely stupid? Is it some weird MO problem? The only different thing I am doing is dropping all files from FNIS, DSR and bash into one mod. Also I use LOOT instead of BOSS, so when DSR asks I tell it to **** off at which point it seams to happily generate all the files that either do not work or something prevents them from working. help...
