  1. Here is the Hodilton vid. I don't remember which road textures get pulled out for TPC but these looks pretty good, and not like the SRO ones posted earlier:
  2. Lots of people like InsanitySarrows texture pack for roads. He links to it in the description. I found out about it using SMC. I would love to see comparisons for the various road textures+this.
  3. While I do see that from time to time, generally its true. Especially when looking at weapons. The number of models whose polycount could be cut by 50% (or more) with no real drop in quality are rather high. Especially when they get covered in uncompressed 4k textures to boot. Maibatsu and Newermind43 are both well known for doing just that.
  4. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55518/? Mesh replacers for pretty much all roads, and seems to be compatible with all of the decent texture packs. Think its worth a look see.
  5. Is that including the tweaks that is made to the NVAC code to be able to see grass further away?
  6. That is one of the biggest reasons why I don't like Frostfall.
  7. I actually thought of that, or just using the Hearthfire plugin for Relighting Skyrim, but that falls into the "is it worth it" category. Its a lot of work (for me) and I am really not sure. Especially when you start considering ENB effects, and other plugins like Darker Dungeons for ENB and the like.
  8. At this point I am not sure Elfx is worth it. I am torn between it and Relighting Skyrim+ELE. The mesh editing in Elfx is highly annoying, especially with incompatibilities.
  9. Has anyone given this a look? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35895/? I like the screenshots, may test it in game at some point. Thanks to you guys being all down on Langleys Dwemer textures I am now on another mission to find something better.
  10. Discussion thread: Wiseman303's Trap Fixes by Wiseman303 Wiki Link Indiana Jones style pedestal traps?! Yes please! https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55100/?
  11. You missed my point. You are trying to blame mmo's for "f2p and microtransactions" when that is a place where video games got popular in the first place. In fact coin ops were generally far more perverse in the ways they would use to separate you from your cash than most of todays methods. If you want to blame the industry at large for "going back to the well" then convince the great gaming majority that it doesn't need $100m titles to be "worthwhile". Similarly, while you may be a lone wolf, I am not. I am very much a social gamer. My fondest memories come from sitting around a table with 4 others playing Shadowrun, or the days before Xbox Live and running cat5 between apartments for 8v8 Halo matches right up into 40 man vanilla WoW raids. I agree that bigger isn't better, nor do I believe that all games should be inherently multiplayer, but attempting to blame a facet of the industry for certain things when it just flat isn't true is not ok. If Fallout and Skyrim didn't have the admittedly garbage follower systems that they do I would not enjoy them anywhere near as much. The original Halo is still my favorite shooter entirely because you weren't a lone gunman, you had Cortana along for the ride. I have said it on many forums, but one of the biggest features I want for Fallout 4 is drop in co-op to replace followers. I would love to be able to do Fallout with my roomate or Girlfriend. I meant as actual feature complete game. You know, that super awesome amazeballs game that has everything and the kitchen sink for 1/3 the price of other games on the market? As I said, I remain skeptical.
  12. While this further increases the ot, I really detest these sorts of opinions when backed by such ignorant reasoning. Did you by chance forget the rise of popular gaming in the first place? Ie Pinball and Arcade? Similarly, the "move away" is because generally speaking, adding more people makes things more fun because we are social animals. I can go much more in depth if you want. You want to dislike mmo's, fine, but don't try to blame them when history doesn't support you. Especially when the underlying cause is Us as general gamers anyway. That Being said, I don't like Star Citizen because I will believe it when I see it. There is a reason why the "space sim/shooter" has been considered dead for a decade. Maybe its time for a decent revival, but the scope promised on the budget gained I just don't buy. If its ever released, if its good, I will buy it, if its not then its no skin off my nose. Though I will say that the "rumors" floating around of a real remake of X-Wing vs Tie Fighter to coincide with the Rogue Squadron movie has my interest piqued.
  13. It will load the textures it needs out of the bsa. Loose files take priority. Ideally you will pack all of your mods into a bsa and load it through a dummy file, or in the case of a compilation like SMC let it do it for you. The only time its really ideal to unpack bsa's is if you are using mod organizer because it doesn't actually touch your game folder. I do not use it yet, but most (especially around here) recommend it.
  14. Vault 22 has that entire floor that is filled with gas. As a bonus you get to test the flora overhaul too! I also recommend Dracomies textures for random objects. I especially like his Mister Gutsy. I know its a subjective thing, but I actually think FCO looks goofy. They fall right into the uncanny valley for me so I use the people makeover too. But hey, your the author here, all I can do is leave feedback. :P I won't blame you if you like alien people!
  15. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54956/? Not really for Step, but this is a pretty cool house. Skyrim has always lacked a good use for the Seadog outfit from Immersive Armors, now its got one!
  16. I had issues with Portable Campsite too, sometimes items just fall through the world. I think its just an engine limitation. Personally I don't like the Millenias store, though I do have to take a look at this new lite version I dislike the very idea. Its a large part of why I use The Right to Bear Arms (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/46138/?). Having a store for the Gun Runners makes sense, but not to have everything ever there. Running up to a vendor is so anticlimatic. Getting the caps (or the barter skill) really isn't all that hard. I would rather go for some actual rng to find the better part of what I want. It also forces you to generalize a bit more and changes your personal story a bit rather than just "I am Joe, and I use the bestest shotgun ever!". As for the delevel, I dunno how that would work really. I don't use requiem because too many other things I want to use conflict with it in ways that I either don't know how to fix, or just don't want to go to the trouble of doing so. Would rather piece together my own overhaul and call it good enough. I haven't used that deloot feature in PN because I have read that it causes issues with some quests. I don't know if they were vanilla or modded ones due to things not being tagged correctly. Don't know how much truth there is to it, but never wanted to risk it to find out. I tend to just ignore the economy and the like parts, and use things like hardcore mode as a rp tool not an actual game mechanic.
  17. Later in the game is exactly when you need it to scale high because by level 20 you have so many caps it just doesn't matter anymore what you do. If you want to get right down to it that would just be a really poor bandaid on an economy that is completely borked anyway.
  18. Depends on the weapon. For example if you are running with a "signature weapon" (like a shotgun) or a unique that cannot be purchased you would be willing to pay through the nose to fix instead of just throw it away. It may not fit your personal play style, just throwing out another viewpoint. I wouldn't repair a "normal" weapon anyway unless it was with my personal skill as like you said its so easy to just toss it away and grab another or something else. I mean if you are going to go into things like repair price are you going to address how absolutely op the speech skill is?
  19. I would recommend the New Bison Steve over Afterschool Special anyway, just because Afterschool Special draws out that beginning part of the game and feels funny where New Bison Steve mostly fits right in (doesn't feel any more weird than how the rest of the Mojave knows who you are before you have done anything) and actually lasts through a large segment of the game as you travel to and fro and explore. It also gives you reason to visit locations in addition to other side quests, so you can do it along the way. Watching it in Gophers lets play of how he intermixed it with New Vegas Bounties 1 was pretty fantastic. Doesn't Bottle That Water also have the issue of bottling clean water from irradiated sources? I believe thats why I bypassed it before. That and it made getting water a little too easy. I actually like the repair being expensive. It makes it an actual choice at lower levels of where to put skill points instead of just dumping all of them into weapon skill of choice+lockpick+speech. Juryrigging doesn't ring a bell as a perk I take often, but then I have also fallen in love with Alternative Repairing. I don't use the repair itself very often, but when I do it also makes a solid cap sink.
  20. Also, don't those not load if you have loose files?
  21. I think a lot of it too is going to depend on enb. Something like Somber3 or M enb makes that glow mapping stand out and look awesome imo. I need to get my install set back up so I can do some proper testing. Stupid mmo's eating all my time :( As I said in the comment section of the mod though, based on the screens I like it. Its something that I never really thought about previously, but giant runed ball never really did it for me. The look of actual "power" inside of it gives me the warm and fuzzies. About the only thing I think that would be "better" would be a remesh/text to make it look like a palantir, assuming we could make it work effectively in Skyrim. :)
  22. Ragdoll Overhaul is pretty awesome. There are some places that make for odd kills, but overall its such an improvement they are more than tolerable.
  23. Not quite. Dragbody's "rip pack" is ~10gigs, and actually comes housed in his own private base he replaced Searchlight with. What I am saying that he and him minions are doing is going through that massive pack, and replacing most of the armors in the game with them. I have no idea what the final size will be, but think of it as his Legion overhaul, but for everyone in the wasteland and with armors that actually fit the style. As far as I am aware this will be a completely separate pack from Dragbody's 2 year "collect all the armors" project. :)
  24. As EssArrBee points out below, half the time you need to go fishing around for it. I know if I am fighting something and get disarmed its going to take me longer than 15sec to kill what I am fighting and stumble around to find my weapon. It happens enough that I no longer play "tank" characters (the only REAL melee!).
