GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
MonoAccipiter replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Luthien got banned, whether it was intentionally or not, I don't know. Gribbleshnibit8 got permission to host the new, scheduled-for-release version 19 here: https://www.gribbleshnibit.com/lutana JIP is going to merge Lutana into JIP NVSE in the future. Not much more happening in the background beyond that. Some people were losing their heads over this, other people lost their heads over the new EULA from Zenimax that gave them the permission to do the exact same thing as they could do since Oblivion. Everything pretty much went back to normal. I hope. -

It's fine to add mid-game. -

They're meant to imitate the original game, which seems to eschew company names. Whether they did that due to rights or not, we can only speculate about, but that is what they did. I usually think of it as having to do with wastelanders giving weapons colloquial names. This is what I've been going for with the names for guns in the Frontier (which I've been helping out with). -

If I find time to get back to this. I will merge some of the changes from my fork into the main guide, it was never important to me to have a fork anyhow, and when the person that suggested it kinda disappeared, I see no point in continuing with the split. My apologies for any confusion it caused. -

Unsure how it works with F&L's current instructions, but it works with my fork: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:MonoAccipiter/Fear_and_Loathing_in_New_Vegas:_Wasteland_Edition It has been updated since October (when I got kinda burned out) by boycad, it's just not in the main changelog. -

Alternative to using Merge Patches (Standalone)?

First, I would ask in the part of the forum dedicated to that tool: https://forum.step-project.com/forum/99-mators-utilities-support/ Mator might be able to help. -
Gun Runners Arsenal - Vendortron Five Billion Bug
MonoAccipiter replied to ToughPuppy's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
That's actually a game bug: https://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_bugs#Barter_system_bugs Check the first entry. Since it's from a mod vendor, you can try removing the plugin, saving, and re-adding the plugin, to force the vendor chest to reset. -

Everything is possible, but it takes a lot of work. Though I'd like to see it fixed, I don't really have a lot of time right now. ADAM had a lot of issues when I took over, and I'm still trying to fix some of them, but the most important part is that it works right now. It even has meshes for females, which was not originally included. I will add this to my list though. -

Then swap ahead. You'll be fine. There is a navmesh bug with .esp plugins that's best avoided by using an .esm. -

Mojave Patch Outpost. You can open the plugin in question in FNV Edit, and delete everything that says from containers and formlists. -

Yep. YUP removed a record that MPO uses. That's the cause of that bug in 100% of all cases. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

The Recon Stealth Armors were... not particularly satisfying to look at. Just recolored versions of the original Ranger Combat Armor, which should be rather rare and unique in the first place. With ADAM they especially look out of place, as they end up having the wrong mesh and completely different textures (even for things like the eyes). They also fill a niche that has been filled before, by the DLC armors. Holsters were, at best, an incomplete solution to something slightly annoying. They didn't fit with most guns, and looked a bit silly too. DEIMOS I never really liked all that much. There was talk about removing it from the original guide as well, but I didn't really have the time to follow up on that. In general, I wanted to move more towards quest mods that could feel as if they were a part of the game. NVB is one such mod, although Someguy's characters sometimes feel a bit too silly to be real. I've wanted to test Autumn Leaves for a while, as I think it might be another such mod, but haven't got the chance to do it yet. It's important to mention that a lot of quest mods for FNV has a FO3-esque dimension to them. They're often more silly or theme park like than the base game (more rule of cool). This doesn't always fit in with the rest of the game, which relies more subtle depth, and tongue-in-cheek humor. Balance is always important as well. I have made a mod that fixes some severe balance issues with the New Bison Steve, but it's not really complete per say. It's called the New New Bison Steve if you want to check it out. I also want things to be lore-friendly, like Genius said. It's not necessarily about being canon, as they can never achieve that, but it's about feeling like it's part of the world you're playing in. That's important. It needs to feel like you're playing Fallout: New Vegas. Possibly an improved and updated version, with better graphics and mechanics, as well as more content, but still Fallout: New Vegas. It should definitely be updated and I'm willing to help out, but I'm unable to maintain it on my own.
