pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
CJ2311 replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
As the description of the ELFX patch (in the fomod installer) says, that patch is a tentative fix for the issues encountered by people who are not using Lanterns of Skyrim and are willing to deal with floating lights and such. -
Hey Smile, just a little suggestion: Put a link to the pack in the OP, every time I want to send this pack to someone I instinctively open this thread first, then start looking for the pack on the wiki. D:

There's no inconsistency, we do in fact mean ELFX Exteriors. The Enhancer works with REGS.There's 3 parts in ELFX:- Main module (Enhanced Lights and FX.esp, or something like that): redoes interior light sources. ==> Compatible with REGS if you use the required patches for mods such as College of Winterhold.- ELFX-Enhancer : Changes the imagespace of interiors to make them darker. ==> Compatible with everything in REGS.- ELFX-Exteriors : Adds light sources in exteriors. ==> Incompatible with a lot of landscape/city/quest mods, which is why we use Lanterns of Skyrim instead.EDIT: Also, for those interested in using Sky Haven Temple instead of the Sky Haven Temple - Merchants & More, I have updated the instructions on how to get that mod working with the paarthunax dilemna and follower mods. This is for advanced users only, no support will be given for people using this. -

Patches should go after both masters, in this case after 3DNPC. I'll add that to the guide since it seems I forgot to copy it with the latest major update D: On a separate note: Inns & Taverns got updated to 1.9 so make sure to update that (and leave an endorsement while you're on the page) -
wanted Purposeful Save as Draft (autosave already included)

Missed your reply last time. Anyway, I did click on the editor and it didn't work. However this only applies if I refresh the page, navigating away or closing then reopening the tab does keep the text. -

Eh, you guys nuked my monthly bandwidth on box.net. Setting up dropbox mirrors at the moment. EDIT: Changed the links to dropbox, should be fine now -
Blame Bethesda and their superb job at UV Mapping the Whiterun walls D:
-
I don't know how you guys manage to do that, whenever I'm a dungeon, I feel obligated to look around every corner and loot every container. You never know, there might be a septim under that boulder at the other side of the dungeon. And it's even worse with games like Fallout where even garbage items can be used to repair stuff... I need to run through every area twice or thrice to loot everything that's not nailed to the ground :(

What my RAM, and VRAM mean for STEP, ENB, and modding?
CJ2311 replied to lelouch_luffy's question in General Skyrim LE Support
You can't supplement a graphics card with another, unless they're based on the same model. Most of the time, it's just better to replace an old GPU with a new one, and in the case of Nvidia, use the old one as a dedicated PhysX card if it's good enough. Honestly though, if you don't use an ENB or ENBoost and you don't go overboard with 2k textures all over the place, you'll be fine with this card. -

You can try to use TC, however I've stopped checking new mods (since I've included all those quest mods as a matter of fact) for TC compatibility because it literally takes hours to test them (let alone the hassle of making the navmeshes TC-friendly), for a mod that I consider immersion breaking. Eh that was just due to me deciding to put most of the mods that I listed in my original post here before I even started working on the pack. But since the list is almost empty now, updates will definitely slow down and will be just to add the occasional hidden gem/new mod and updating compatibility patches if needed And you could have gotten rid of it ages ago if you reported it back then Nope, the replacers are in the REGS - patches, REGS - Cities only has... well cities. I was unable to reproduce this. I suppose it can happen with the original mod since that one had a deleted navmesh, but the version merged in REGS - Cities.esp was fixed D: Thanks, fixing that. -

The Whiterun entrance also has chains, fences and something to do with the main gate that are added by SMIM, so I would expect that you'll get more FPS there as well now -

Ah, SMC handles that as well? In any case, the "Install everything w/ dragonborn" option is the one I was referring to, yes. I don't know what the Lite option installs though, I always a custom install. -

The textures that are most used in Riverwood would be the farmhouse textures. Here's a better suggestion though: When you installed SMIM, did you check the option by default? Because it does severe changes to all the models in Riverwood (fences, ropes and chains for example will result in several hundreds of thousands of polygons, which does take it's toll on any GPU) -

Arkaedius: Are you using Audio Overhaul for Skyrim? If so you can try downloading the AOS CTD fix on their page, it fixes a recurrent crash problem that happens in the "Riverrun" area. Dakkon: Thank you, I removed the part about cleaning that mod since the author fixed that in his update. -

Actually scratch what I said previously, I'm about to finish a hotfix for BFT + Moon and Star. It'll be for the Hearthfires version of that mod only though, since filtering esps by script is taking ages. -

It's not in the masterlist of Boss 2.2? I'd recommend actually placing it before Nightingale hall.esp then. But I could've sworn BOSS 2.2 sorted it wihtout me having a userlist for it, maybe I was just drunk. Actually, it will cause problems indeed, I'll post on Moon and Star to inform the mod author. For now, place Better Fast Travel above Moon and Star in the load order, you won't be able to use one of the carriages to go to solitude, but that's better than to break Moon and Star. -

Not exactly, he just said on stream that he plans to fix iHud so that the SkyUI option will only affect SkyUI active effects instead of every single SkyUI widget. -

Everything's modular in the pack, so you can choose not to install ETaC. Never had any issues with ETaC Riverwood though, I only had crashes in Dawnstar/Falkreath. Didn't have any problems back when I was using a Radeon HD6870 with 1GB of VRAM either. -
Woops.

I don't think you're supposed to install the PPR for both vanilla and SRO btw, since they're supposed to have the same files.Note:2 mods in the pack have been updated:- Expanded Winterhold Destruction Ruins by Rhinala70 and phaota: - Inns and Taverns by Mena: -
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52423/ Seeing as how I've always liked Pure Waters, I'll definitely be using this mod.A note for potential users though: This mod will probably not look great with most ENBs.

Yah it's a PPR issue, the dock doors and windhelm towers do that. The messed up nif files are listed in SR:LE for that mod. -

No need to ask him, here's the answer to that: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/557409-interesting-npcs/?p=9274980 Also yes, I do realize that some things are intentionally moved/rotated, but imagine if the USKP fixes a tree stump in riverwood, then ETaC moves that tree because it places a house there, but then another actually forwards the USKP change and you end up with a beautiful tree stump in front of Faendal house's door. I doubt he'd be too pleased with that :p
