So, I have been having some crash issues and want to start from the beginning. I just have a general question about creating a new profile in MO Technically with MO, the mods are already installed. How do I ensure that the STEP overwrite process is correctly done? Do I need to just activate the mods in the STEP order, or do I need to reinstall the mods?

So I have tested around a bit and am starting to think the crashes are from too much on my GPU. I wish the game would have given a bit more to the CPU, I only have a 4570 and it's only using 30-40% where as my GPU is getting worked from 70-100% and it's a GTX760. I think I am going to remove the weather and lighting pack and see if that stops the crash.

ENBs can be a pain to input into the game and I would strongly suggest adding ENB Manager to the ENB wiki. It helps me quite a bit switching between and testing ENBs.

Good advice. I'll definitely start experimenting. At least when it is running it looks and feels great.

So first off, I have quite a few mods installed and almost all are STEP. Here is an easy way for the list in the order I installed with MO: STEP Core Extended (No Duel wielding mods) -Extended Patch- Explorers Guide (without most quests and new lands, also any mod that was through Steam) -REGS Patch- War Ensemble (only primary) Weather and Lighting (Replace morning fog with supreme and volumetric) WALL (wont list the ones I did and did not, but many were redundant with Immersive Armors/Weapons or of options already in the list) :Added: Real Clouds Bigger Trees Immersive Armors Immersive Weapons Alternative Start -Bash Patch- The total comes out to 225 mods. I've tried going through the game a few times to see if there is anything in particular that seems to cause issues and the only thing I can think of is when a city is in the vicinity. First round it remained in the loading screen when I went from spawning in a home in Riften to going into the city. Second time was walking from Riverwood to Whiterun, half way is stopped loading the objects and just had the distant renderings. The last time I tried playing I spawned in a campsite, I was able to wander around just fine, but as I approached Falkreath the game just froze. The biggest thing is that I am an idiot and didn't create different versions of mods that needed to be patched for packs and I installed all the mods under one profile in MO. I thought I was fine just going through the opening after installing each pack (was benchmarking for each one as they stacked), but I should have done a bit of gameplay before moving on to the next. I've thought about deleting it all and starting from the beginning again, but I will say that the longest part of STEP is downloading from Nexus. My thought so far is that the issue is in Explorers Guide, there are quite a few mods in there and they are the only ones that really edit a city (the only thing I have partially noticed to cause the crash). Has anyone tried this combination of the Packs? Or any thoughts on where the issue might be?

pack Weather and Lighting (by Smile44)

I have a big suggestion at least to add as an optional file: Real Clouds 2 It looks fantastic, made to run with CoT, and the recent update to v2 has made it to where I haven't seen any of the initial issues that the mod had. It really adds some dimension to the sky, I have never noticed a performance hit, and for this pack I think it really helps. -

You are correct. Sorry I didn't read through the bottom notes, my bad! -

I would like to add to this that Helgen Reborn requires to either install it after you have completed the opening mission, or that you instal one of the alternative start mods. If you install Helgen Reborn and start a new game with the opening scene, there are many issues that can occur. I would suggest adding one of the Alternative start mods to this pack to prevent those issues from occurring with new users. As a warning, I emailed Zenimax Support after a couple weeks of playing and they gave me a full return. -
I have started to go through and watch the Creation Kit Tutorials. But I was wondering if anyone knew of other great tutorials out there for creating mods. I have an idea for a mod that I would love to have, and although I have never modded before I think it would be great to learn how and develop the idea that I have.

I pick RLO over ELFX due to compatibility issues. RLO works easily with CoT and Severe Storms, ELFX wont work (easily) with CoT. When it comes to the actual looks. I have a love hate for each. I think the screenshots on here are a perfect way to compare them. Although ELFX has the lights brighter, their flame color is much more neutral and windows/cracks can be much more involved in the scene. I personally have a pet peeve for RLO's flames, although their lighting distance and brightness (when looking at the flame itself) is more realistic then ELFX, RLO uses way too much orange which makes the flame lighting damper the coloring of objects close by. RLO daytime also bothers me that the Flames show through on walls during the day. A great example of how RLO flames really bug me is the opening video, when you are watching the decapitation, the flames orange during the day time goes all the way from the tower to the block and adds a grapefruit orange to the ground. Would provide screenshot but don't have one on hand. So my conclusion is: RLO has great lighting distance for Flames but horrible window lighting. ELFX has too colorful of window lighting, but great color for flame lighting. I would probably use ELFX if it worked easily with CoT. This is just a pet peeve of my own, but RLO really drives me nuts with the overly heavy orange, especially during the day. During the day, unless it is cloudy, I should not be able to see any lighting from the flame or it should be a very dull light.

I have just gone through all of 2.D Core and for some reason BOSS is recognizing SKSE and Fuz Ro Doh but not Double Cursor Fix and Elys AltF4. SKSE was manually installed, but the others I have uploaded to MO. MO also recognizes Fuz Ro Doh but shows the "No Valid Game Data" for Double Cursor and AltF4. Do I need to manually install those as well or are they installed and MO and BOSS aren't registering them?

WALL - Immersive Clothing & Equipment

I think one of the best most lore friendly Weapon and Armor mods are Immersive Weapons and Immersive Armors. -
Thanks for the help. I'll definitely install some of the UI mods

Hello, I am new to using STEP and am looking forward to using this as my starting mod list, but I was wondering how many of the UI and Character creation mods have controller support. I don't want to waste my time with some of the mods if they don't support me running my controller with the game. Thanks for any help and this is one of the most useful Skyrim mod site's that I have found.
