Sounds of Skyrim MCM Menu
Valamyr replied to Wormheart's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I'm not planning any new games soon, but hell yeah, the day I do, I'd use a MCM version. -
Can hardly be easier, as the default regen level is a 'Settings' Out of combat regen is 0.7 by default and is healrate, multiplied in combat by combathealthregenmult, also 0.7 by default, meaning in combat healing is 0.49%. You can create a simple esp with the CK, go into the gamesettings, track these values in the list, and set whatever you want. OR if you want the effect to be for your current character only, you can use console commands (player.setav healrate 0.5 for example.. more info on the wikis) If you want to go all out, this mod will remove regen altogether; https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9972/?

NVDIA or AMD gpu best for modded Skyrim?
Valamyr replied to Valamyr's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Yeah, I know the 9000 series are coming soon, will probably be waiting a month for that... I want the next card to be somewhat future-proof and get great performance in GTA V (whenever we lowly PC users get it). As for basing a decision on this game, I know it may seem weird, but its mostly that its the only game I really have some issues with (once modded ofc), and I know both major brands generally work well enough with any game. If ENB is the only concern, though, I can probably live without that. I read people claiming ATI users had more VRAM ILS issues but I assume they were mistaken. -
Hello guys! I've read over the last couple years the odd person commenting NVDIA gpus might be better for modded Skyrim than AMD ones, and I wanted to know if that holds any water. This isn't a general 'what brand is better' nor even a 'what will give me more FPS' card, but more specifically whether one of the two brands might result in less crashes, vram-driven infinite loading screens, better performance with ENBs and ENBoost; this kind of thing. My current install of Skyrim is heavily modded, and generally stable, but I have to flush my VRAM constantly with ENBoost before loading screens and my performance with Phinix ENB is below what I'd like it to be given I'm playing in 1440p. I'm thinking it'll be time to upgrade soon. I've traditionally been leaning more towards AMD/ATI for GPUs, and I have one of those right now (6950HD, OC'd, with the 6970 shaders hack) - but I wanted advice from other heavy modders, perhaps people who've played Skyrim on both; should I lean naturally towards NVIDIA when picking a new card, or is what I've read mostly the 'usual' hardware wars and both are equally stable?

Yeah I'm thinking about keeping the old waves too. Seems to be mostly working fine together. But I'm really liking the water.

I switched to this right now, and not going back :) I admit the WATER waves will be missed a bit.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Valamyr replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
207 seems like a major step up! Stability is higher than ever for me, and it fixes the issues I had with 206 where some areas suffered dramatic performance losses. (rare issue I'm told). I use the version bundled wih Phinix Natural ENB. I'm just saying, this is a must try for anyone who has stability issues, and not just obviously-RAM-related ones. It wont fix a borked save or mod conflicts, but it does wonders on a properly built one. -
"wetriggerscript" script error popups on Solstheim
Valamyr replied to Valamyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
And the winner is "Atlas Map Markers with Dragonborn, Dawnguard and Blackreach addons". :p I unchecked its ESPs like 3 hours a go and give it a pass because the problem kept occuring. Just finally noticed that it tries to modify ... WETriggerScript.pex :p Thanks for the help. -
"wetriggerscript" script error popups on Solstheim
Valamyr replied to Valamyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thanks, sadly its a no go, still happening for now. I also tried disabling all mods with a Dragonborn component that I could think of, and using clean inis, new char, still the same. This is a resilient little cockroach. This is still happening with no mods AT ALL, just the official DLCs, not even UPs, clean inis, new game... Ugh, BUT it doesnt happen if I launch that clean game through the normal launcher instead of ModOrganizer. I guess the problem has to be there, or SKSE. Edit 3: Ok at this point I've realized that it IS a mod causing this, but that merely unchecking the ESP of whatever mod it is does not suffice. I need to uncheck the mod completely, should have thought of that. Now it should be just a matter of time... -

"wetriggerscript" script error popups on Solstheim
Valamyr posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
This is a script issue that's bugging me on my STEP install, though it could likely not have anything to do with STEP itself, I've had no luck Googling answers to this one. The popup below randomly appear as I explore Solstheim. Its a Box that I can press OK on and continue, it doesnt cause always cause CTDs, though it did on a couple occasions, but its slightly irritating either way. I have a substantial load order, mostly STEP mods, but they're all carefully BOSS'd and all. Googling the error says this can be caused by duplicate Skyrim.esm entries in plugins.txt, but I checked my plugins.txt (the one Mod Organizer generates), and the core esm is only there once (though there are also the unofficial patches ofc). The only change I've done to any of the ESMs is cleaning the Update, and the Official DLCs as recommanded. Just want to know if this rings a bell to anybody :) Additional info; the source for that script is in scripts/source and shows the script has to do with creating context-appropriate random events for the player. The portion of the script generating the errors seems to be the following... and given neither Imperials or Stormcloaks are on Solstheim to my knowledge, well, I'm not sure this should be triggering at all... -
Does it really deliver on the promise of 'feeling like an official DLC'?

2.00 is out, no feedback yet as I'm waiting on my ENB to update. -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Valamyr replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The newest version seems to both put AMD support at NVIDIA levels, allowing us to use all the RAM tweaks without side effects, while also, in my case, provide a modest but welcome FPS boost. Boris is a genius if you ask me. I didnt think this much of a step up was possible on the current engine. -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Valamyr replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I have an ATI card and used the performance version of his ini, which disables some of the RAM tweaks that appear to cause stuttering to ATI users... he states this might increase CTDs, while still being an overall improvement, and seems to be the recommended way to go for ATI users for now. I didnt carefully bench everything, instead, I just played for 6 hours. Now, like my sig says, my current build is pretty stable... for a 252 esp, 388 mods install that is... meaning I'm used to a CTD every couple hours, sometimes a bit more, at least when playing in the world space and fighting big showy battles. In the last 6 hours I only crashed once, and it was in a cell that appears particularly vulnerable in my current build, across the river from Riverwood. I used to CTD there fairly easily if casting spells. I had to muck around quite a bit for it to happen this time. I'm definitely keeping this on, and despite it being a work in progress and some discouraging comments on the Nexus, I dont regret trying it at all. Ive endorsed it, and I suggest given it a go. Given its a wrapper, its not like its a scripted mod that you could end up stuck with; its very easy to remove at any time. If you already use a ENB, its addition is trivial. -
Skyrim Crash/freeze every 20 min

Do we know yet if BLEED is any better in that respect? -
CTD on load screen trying to enter dawnstar sanctuary
Valamyr replied to winflakes's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I specially tried that number and still got the Raven Rock Mine crash quasi-consistently. If it really avoids crashes elsewhere thats positive I guess, but trading crashes for crashes isn't a great deal. If its there to stay, there should at least be more attempts to confirm that it does prevent issues... cause so far, it seems like a net negative still. -
CTD on load screen trying to enter dawnstar sanctuary
Valamyr replied to winflakes's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Sorry for the necro, but I think its worthwhile. I have tracked major instability in my current heavily but carefully modded load order to iLargeIntRefCount=262144. There were some areas, like Raven Rock Mine, where I was crashing over 80% of the time when trying to enter, until I removed this from my ini. Now that transition never fails, and the occasional random 'neverending loading' glitch that plagued me appears fixed. It took me alot of guesswork to narrow it down to this; and I should add that neither larger nor smaller values was fixing anything. Only removing it from the ini did. I consider this tweak too dangerous to be included without warnings, if at all. I dare say that back in the unhappy days I was still using ugridstoload, it never got THIS bad. -
Yeah, thank you Wormheart. I guess I knew the updates had to be man-made, but I'm still amazed at how often they come out. ( I was obviously aware its an automated tool, but very few automated tools get updated so often! ) Kudos to the the great people keeping BOSS up to date :)

Dotted lines in my and question about Vampire skintone
Valamyr replied to Valamyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I solved my issues. The screenshots with the little dotted lines are duplicates, though I dont know why. I actually get two screenshots whenever I take one now.. one's good, and one's got the dots, as odd as it sounds. Dunno how I missed that yesterday. For my vampire going black, I used this mod; https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34711/? It keeps the color even before and after transformation. The other one on Nexus didnt work. -
Dotted lines in my and question about Vampire skintone
Valamyr replied to Valamyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Oh sorry about the long title. Single card, ATI 6950. I'm using CoT+ULO Ultra, no real ENB. I have great performance in game though, despite cranking settings pretty high. Just tried @ 1920, still get the little dots in the screenies. Hmm. Doesnt happen on my 'old' install so I'm guessing related to a mod rather than hardware. -
Dotted lines in my and question about Vampire skintone
Valamyr posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
My new install is working out great so far, hammering out a few kinks right now. For one, all the screenshots I take have little lines like this in them. Resolution is 2560 if that matters. I'd be curious if anyone can pinpoint a cause and a fix. Also bonus question; the reason I was taking these in the first place is because I was testing Vampire face/eye fixes (better eye texture and face fix); these worked out good, but I'm puzzled why this Redguard becomes darker in undeath, I was expecting the opposite if anything. Is this WAD? Thanks! -
Nearly 20 seconds to launch the game after modding, normal?
Valamyr replied to Valamyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah sorry about that, I tried to delete it myself but discovered after posting the dupe that I didnt have the access to do so. Well, the startup delay doesnt bother me much after all. BUT I just discovered the 255 plugin limit the hard way :D Seems like I need to merge stuff. -
Nearly 20 seconds to launch the game after modding, normal?
Valamyr posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Just checking, not a huge deal, but I've built my biggest install yet and while it seems stable so far in game (and 42-45fps), but it takes an amazing amount of time between pressing 'Run' in Mod Organizer and the game actually launching. I suspect its due to the large number of ESPs, but I just wanted to make sure - anyone else has to wait 16-18 secs for the game to launch with about 250 esps? (Over half are all STEP, then some GEMS, then some personal favorites... you all know how quick it adds up Big Grin ) -
Im just curious... spent the last couple days rebuilding an install, and over the course of that, I downloaded about a dozen new BOSS lists. Is this some sort of automated process, or do we really have amazing BOSS Gremlins pushing six new lists a day?! XD
