  1. Just throwing in my experience - this bug where the game stops autosaving and always drops difficulty back to Novice is actually something people have seen before with modded SE installs, not just on STEP setups. A common fix is installing the persistence/difficulty‑save related mods that folks recommend on Nexus, same ones z929669 linked above, since they force the game to actually remember your settings again. Plenty of other players have had similar problems and those mods seemed to sort it out for them too, so might be worth a shot if anyone else runs into this.
  2. I’ve seen this happen too, and it’s almost always because some mods actually write settings out to files outside of the save itself (like .ini/.json in MO2’s overwrite or a mod’s own folder), so when you start what should be a “fresh” game, those saved config values still get loaded first and make it look like things carried over.
  3. You said that even a fresh profile crashes, so it might not just be mods. There's a known problem where Mod Organizer 2 (MO2) crashes when launching executables - even vanilla - especially if the virtual file system or SKSE launcher is misconfigured.
  4. Make sure you’re launching via the correct launcher (for instance if you’re using SKSE) and that nothing is blocking it (antivirus, duplicate installs, leftover old save/game file), because sometimes it’ll fail to even open the window.
  5. Even without ENB support, you’ve managed to capture a great atmosphere, especially with the Altitude mod as the baseline. The Lucky 38 Tower and the Primm casino in the distance really give the landscape some nice depth and context.
  6. It's possible that the scaling of the assets could be causing issues with LOD generation. LODs are typically based on distance from the camera, so if the scaled assets appear much larger in world space, their LOD transitions might not be triggering as expected
  7. Hi there! I`m new here, but hey, Battlegrounds is such a blast with friends, right? Sorry to hear about your laptop struggling with the heat. When it comes to upgrading, it really depends on your budget and what you're aiming for. The GTX 1060 and GTX 1050Ti are solid choices if you're looking for something more recent. They'll handle games like a champ without breaking the bank. But hey, if you're on a tight budget, the GTX 960 can still hold its own in many games.
