I've been trying to get SeEdit in the executables for weeks. When I browse the directories for Start In I can find the folder I have it downloaded to but the executables are hidden. When I go to the folder outside of MO2 I have no problem seeing them and it's operating fine. I've added the apps to the firewall, turned off my firewall altogether and tried running as admin. The files are hidden every time. I have MO2 v. 2.5 and Windows Defender. What am I missing? I should also mention that I had no trouble setting Loot up in the Executables.

Google really doesn't have the answers. I have done what Google said and added the folder to exclusions and when I go to configure MO2, the exes are STILL missing. I'm hoping someone can tell me what to do. I've added both the exe files and the folder the whole mess is in and it's still not viewable through MO2 config.

The problem is that the .exe files to run SEEdit keep disappearing so I can't configure them in MO2 to be able to clean any of my mods. I've searched for an answer, but running it as admin doesn't help. It keeps hiding the exe files and I can't configure it to MO2 or use the program. Do you know of a fix?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but please move it where you want it. I've downloaded SEEdit 4.0 to my Modding Tools directory. I open it and can click on the Quick Clean exe and start the program. Of course, I can't clean any mods until I config with MO2. I start doing that and when I navigate to the directory with the exe, they are gone. I'm not sure what to do?

Testing new build. NPCs set essential?
Darklustre replied to Darklustre's question in General Skyrim SE Support
FYI for anyone having the same problem. Apparently WICO has this bizarre feature of randomly setting NPCs essential. There are patches that fix this. I had to try a combination of different mods and patches to finally find one that worked and let me keep my character without deforming her. -
Testing new build. NPCs set essential?
Darklustre replied to Darklustre's question in General Skyrim SE Support
Thank you. I deselected my mods in batches and finally took off everything and just ran vanilla, 5-year long intro and all. The only people that were set essential and couldn't be command killed were vendors and quest givers/storyline etc. I think that's normal. So it has to be one of the mods or the dependencies. I'd really appreciate if someone could help me troubleshoot this. -
I'm just starting off with Skyrim SE 1.6.1130 and testing out a bunch of mods before cementing them. NPCs are set essential randomly. Kleppr and family, Betrid (who is meant to die in Forsworn Conspiracy), etc. I can't kill them with command kill either. Could one of these mods be causing this? I deselected all the ones I thought might be culprits, but the problem continues. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Some of my LOOT files got wiped. There's no longer a .exe so I can't run it. I also can't reinstall it so it adds the parts that are missing. It tells me to use Add or Remove Programs but Loot isn't seen there. I could just delete the files manually, but does Loot put files in different places? Please let me know how I should safely remove it. Thanks!

HD Crashed. Data semi-lost. Recover Mods, or at least list?
Darklustre replied to Darklustre's question in Mod Organizer Support
Thank you! Now, to another problem I'm having that's related. I am trying to download Loot but it says there is already a Loot installed. There are some files remaining in my D: where it was installed before, but no .exe. It says to use Add or Remove programs to uninstall it, but I can't located it to remove it. How would you resolve this? -
HD Crashed. Data semi-lost. Recover Mods, or at least list?
Darklustre replied to Darklustre's question in Mod Organizer Support
So, since my laptop is failing, is there a directory or something I can go to and copy all my mods and paste them onto an external so that I can just paste them back into MO directory for when my laptop finally fails? I was able to do that with all my Morrowind mods but that was before MO2. -
That could be. The original problem I had was that my laptop started freezing and it would pop right back to where you were after 20 minutes of freeze. It would loop the sounds too. Sometimes it would pop back on extremely bright, but the settings still showed it at 51% and if you raised it above what it was set, the brightness would dim back down. They thought it was GC but they had me link it to the TV and said if it was GC it would not affect the TV screen. If it affected the TV screen too than it was my harddrive or something. Instead, it caused my TV to go all pixelated while the laptop was just fine. They said that was impossible. Long story short, they have no idea how to fix it and I'm out $200. Thanks for the help.

Btw, this isn't the only problem I'm having. Another weird thing is trying to click links listed on Youtube. The links are correct but they open blank pages too. I have to manually search the name to get the mod with the same link that wouldn't open. I try to go fullscreen on video tutorials listed on mods and it tells me fullscreen is unavailable. I click on Youtube and it opens up the video and I can then watch it fullscreen. I've never had these problems before the major crash.

Ok, something seems really weird with my system, which isn't surprising because my laptop is failing and doing things the guys at the repair shop couldn't understand. I'm basically using it until it goes. I've tried everything you suggested and here were the results: I uninstalled 7zip and then ran the installer as admin and it didn't give me the option to associate it as I understood your instructions to mean would happen. I tried Shift clicking and Open With but I get an error message. I'll attach the pic. I did the Tools/Options/System tab to set the file association but wasn't sure what to do at that point. Can you give me the final step? I'll attach the pic.

So, I'm trying to reinstall all my mods after a hard crash caused me to require reformatting my drives and reinstalling the OS. Now, I need SKSE. I have 7-zip downloaded and I downloaded SKSE. I go to open the file from the downloads list and it only opens up a blank page with the SKSE url. I can't get it to open for anything. I've tried updating windows. I've tried running DISM. I've tried other things but nothing is getting it to work. Any idea what I'm missing?

HD Crashed. Data semi-lost. Recover Mods, or at least list?

I installed everything on D: so I was assuming all the files would be located there? Where do the backups save to when you install the program to D:? -
HD Crashed. Data semi-lost. Recover Mods, or at least list?
Darklustre posted a question in Mod Organizer Support
My computer crashed and OS had to be reinstalled. All data was wiped from C: but somehow D: still shows data. Most of my modding files were safe on D:. However, even though I can see the files in D: I can't get Mod Organizer running and it says it can't find .exe. I also can't find appdata folder. 1. Can you give me advice on how I might go about recovering my mods or at least be able to see the list of mods in my MO2 so I'll know what to redownload again? 2. If I redownload MO2, is it possible the mods will still be in the folder, once I'm able to activate the program and reinstate a backup or does it not work like that? Your help is much appreciated. -
How could that be included in the mod if it only happens sometimes? Did you miss the part about how these changes "I've made myself" (in game or when tweaking the mod settings with the MCM) are 'sometimes' there and 'sometimes' not? I'm thinking that if the mod makes these changes to the game, it would be a constant, wouldn't it?
-
Are you sure? I was pretty sure the satchels only appeared after you start Wylandriah's request. That would solve that part then. I'm not sure about what you are saying with the Overwrite business. I haven't saved anything from Overwrite or files or any of that and still, some times the changes persist and some times they don't.

I have MO2 and I use Loot. I would like to understand how it is possible that when I play one game and make changes to a mod in the MCM, or make changes to the game, it can persist into a brand new game. For instance, when I set the tweaks in Hunterborn or Frostfall, a new game may have those same altered settings when I go in to configure the mods in the MCM for the first time in a brand new game. Sometimes this doesn't happen at all. When I use Jaxonz Positioner to change the location of objects in the game, those changed positions can persist in a completely brand new game. Sometimes this doesn't happen. I did Wylandriah's quest in one game. Now, in ALL my brand new games, the satchels with Wylandriah's items are always found in Winterhold, Windhelm and Ivarstead without ever starting the quest, or even going to Riften. I'm really curious to know how this is possible?
