Hey guys, Quick video i made running around Solitude. Its not great but hopefully gives you an idea of the lighting in the exterior and some interior cells at different times. I will make some more with different areas and weather conditions soon. https://youtu.be/j2Dj6yKJdjg Mods used are in the description.

Yeah, i haven't done the loot rules yet, although i should have remembered to move ELE to the bottom. Will try and see if it makes much of a difference. I agree with you to be honest. It would be nice if authors could make proper patches for immersive citizens though. Certainly would make life a lot easier rather than having to choose either/or, or having to live with any potential conflicts. It is what it is though.

No not the enhancer as that is incompatible with Obsidian. For exteriors you'll need to adjust the ENB settings in ENBeffect.txt to get it to how you want it. I've just left it default for now and just changed the two values for nights and interiors as i posted before. Exteriors seem ok for me though. https://imgur.com/a/5Oz4w Thats how i have it in mod organizer while testing.

I was playing around some more last night and have had some good results with Re-engage ENB, ELFX interiors, Obsidian weathers and Obsidion mountain fogs and the results have been quite nice in all conditions so far interior and exerior. I try and capture some screens soon or maybe a short video. I really think that it is going to be a case of picking you poison, so to speak, and making your own slight adjustments to the ENB. One thing with Re-engage is that it seems to be easily configurable so it shouldn't take too much for people to set it to preference.
-
That isn't much of a patch though is it. Sounds like the author of ETAC has removed some of the assets in an attempt to make it less conflicting with ICAIO. Why should they have to do this? I agree with Arthmoor's opinion on the matter personally, to just load ICAIO before any town and city overhauls. It has worked so far for me, although i haven't used ETAC since my last STEP-REGS install so don't know conflicting it is. Also ETAC, iirc, was a pain to set up correctly even folllowing REGS instructions especially with other twon and city mods. Maybe thats changed but i haven't looked at ETAC recently since it has in no way been mentioned as being part of this guide and it wasn't in the classic guide either.

Quick update, For re-engage ENB go into the enb series folder, open enbeffect.txt and under nights and interior adjusters set both nights and interiors to 1.5 or 2.0. This tones down the interior brightness a lot. You can also adjust brightness for individual times of day with the settings under the technique heading.

I've been trying out RLO for the interiors and it seems to help the fire problem with enb somewhat. Some of the interiors are still too bright, but i think it's gonna be a case of playing around with the interior brightness settings in the enb series folder to get it right. I haven't got any screens because for some reason the image comes out much darker than it is in game.

From what i understand the author of ICAIO shot down and has been actively hostile to any attempts to make patches for his mod. There was a whole drama about it sometime during 2015 i believe and nothing has been heard of since. Unless the authors stance has changed then the only thing that can be done is to go through every town mod and manually remove any thing that conflicts with the navigation of the NPC's. Not something i would know how to do personally at this time. Quick question, after extracting BSA's are you deleting them or leaving them?

I'm just starting on the guide now so i can test the Obsidian weathers and some different ENB's, although i think they need to support the weather mod no? Whats the best way to go about it? I'm thinking install everything but the quests and world expansions and then the weather mods and ENB. It will take me a while to install everything though.

Doesn't SSE use different shaders. All the screenshots i've seen are always way more saturated than classic so maybe it's related to that. Silly question but have you actually run without ENB yet to see if that is part of the problem? I'm going to start going through the guide now the wiki is back up so if you want me to test any base configurations then i'm happy to do that.
-
Looking through the Dawn of Skyrim posts for SSE suggests that this version is not compatible with ICAIO unfortunately. It's a shame because it does improve the major cities quite a lot, if somewhat performance heavy. It seems like all the major city and town mods and ICAIO don't really gel properly. Going through some of the posts though and it does seem like it may be possible to convert the legendary edition version, although i'm not certain how much work that would entail. I would be willing to test it though. I assume there are instructions within the guide for porting mods.

I think Dawn of Skyrim is at least mostly compatible with ICAIO, JK's may have more issues but the only issue i noticed is one npc (from the winking skeever) in Solitude was standing in one place which i fixed by spawning a wolf to make him run away and i haven't seen him back in that spot since. Other issues were mainly around the smithing areas, where there are sometimes two of the same thing, but they can be solved by either disabling them in game or removing the records in TESVEdit. The skyforge was one such area. On the whole it i think it is mainly little things like that, although i understand it can be time consuming to remove all those small conflicts. I think the brightness of fires is possibly related to Vividian. I noticed a very washed out look at night with it and eventually switched to the one from Vivid Weathers which i think has much nicer colours. Still very dark at night though. Back to quests Beyond Reach sounds interesting but from what i read it seems to have a lot of bugs still. I saw that you added Bruma which is something i've been wanting to try. Hopefully more quest get ported soon.

Hey everyone, As someone who is happily playing through the original guide i have a few suggestions, if you don't mind me chipping in that is. While i don't have anything specific in mind i would really love to see more and some different quest mods added in. Possibly complete the list of ones that are compatible with LOTD but really just anything that is new and fresh would be good. One thing that would be nice is to see the dark brotherhood and thieves guild expanded if such things exist. Another thing was maybe doing something with the major towns to make them a bit more complete. I personally use Dawn of Skyrim with JK's lite and haven't noticed too many issues other than a few items that need to be removed due to clipping, blocking doors and other such things. I can't say that i have looked to see whether they've been ported or not at this time though. I also wouldn't mind seeing ELFX removed, though that is just a personal preference because i find it too dark. Anyway that's about it in terms of suggestions for now and as i said i hope you don't mind me chirping up. I would be willing of course to help do some testing of mods, but i lack the required skills to help with patching at this time so i understand if some things are just much to incorporate. Cheers guys and whatever way you go with this i will definitely be keeping a watch on this one to see how it evolves.

No. It was fine for me last time i was on, at about 8 pm last night (GMT).

The wiki will be back up at some point today I would imagine. It's only been down for a few hours. Probably just a server issue or maintenance.

Thanks for the reply. I'll go ahead and remove that. Not sure how I missed the optional tag.

No worries. It can potentially be a problem in a couple of sections within the quest that use exterior cells so it's definitely worth doing if you are going to get the Grey Cowl. -

Hey guys, i had a small issue that may be worth adding a note in the guide about. Going through the Grey Cowl of Nocturnal quest, i had a dragon assault (Deadly Dragons) in the desert part and found that the dragons clip through everything and cannot land so it is recommend turning dragon assaults off when starting that quest and turning them back on when complete. Edit: Sorry, should have mentioned that this is a mod clipping solution that came from the Deadly Dragons mod page under the articles section -
From my understanding of the instructions you don't include the weather esp from Oblivion Reloaded. There is a weather replacement section and since Oblivion reloaded needs to stay last in the install list you don't want it to overwrite the weather mods above it.

Did you make sure to only merge the Esp's from the tree mods and not the assets themselves? -
Hey, Thanks for this guide, i never played Morrowind before and only played Oblivion on console, so this is the perfect setup to play both games the way they should have been. I'm up to the end of the quest section and wanted to know if there is anyway to add Morrowind starts to Alternate beginnings?, and if not, is it ok to remove it or is it a master for the CR patch? Thanks Jim

Double check that you have selected all the masters for each esp that you want to merge when you first start merge plugins (highlighted red). Missing master for one of the plugins is the only reason i've seen to cause that error. -

Thank you. Now i can just create a dummy and remove the reference. You guys never seem to stop. I only did my install in July and there's been a huge amount of updates. Thanks very much for all that you do.
