Question

Posted

Even without any mods. I have searched the whole MO forum for a fix. I tried running as Administrator, reinstalling, installing MO in program files. Nothing works. It just opens up a black screen and crashes after 2 seconds.

But when i launch fallout 3 normally without MO it works completely fine. I got the newest MO version, 1.3.7

Did you look at the STEP Fallout 3 guide and the associated forum? The guide can be accessed from the pointer in my signature. You don't necessarily need to follow the guide, but it does cover some possible solutions for your problem as well as others you may encounter later. Since there is a Fallout 3 guide and forums you won't see very many questions and answers in the MO forum.

It would be helpful if you can provide some diagnostic material fo us. Logs from the MO 'logs' folder, copies of the files in the active 'profile' folder, your ModOrganizer.ini and the paths to the software involved.

I looked at the MO step guide troubleshooting, but this one is different, i'll take a look.

Don't know what you mean about the "profile" folder or "paths" to the software involved.

When you installed MO were you presented with the 'Which game to handle' option? If so what options were you presented with?

MO will need to check the registry for those settings on initialisation and according to your logs the game is named in an 'odd' way. Is it a repackaged game by chance?

I fixed it now. The problem was, when i tried to launch the game through the launcher, it said that fallout 3 wasn't installed even though it was. I googled around, fixed it, and now i can launch it through MO again.

Do you think you could go into a little more detail on how you fixed the issue? I'm encountering the exact same problem right now and I guess my google-fu isn't as good as yours.

Could you post your install details also? @GalaxyGoose may have found an answer but I think his problem may be related to his 'odd' game. Going by the install path it looks a pirated copy.
