Something 'fishy' about a thread link in the MO sub-forum

Going through the threads this morning, I made my way to a new posting in a thread about 'Being unable to download from Nexus'

 

Every time I clicked to see what the latest post was about, a download starts for the file: download.htm.

 

I quickly deleted these files and went here to report it. No other threads I have come across behave like this and I'm concerned someone may have left some malware or kiddy-script behind.

 

Posting that URL in a new browser tab seems to take me to the thread so I am really not sure what is happening.

I get the same behavior. I have no idea. This is something for S4N.

Hmmm... Not getting it on my end.

Go to forum and click on the thread to open it. It'll try to download a file. Choosing to open the file simply opens the thread in a new tab in Firefox.

Ok, then I got it. That's strange.

I also noticed that when you hover over the link you should get the full title and when the post was started, but when you hover over the link on this one all you get is the word "Can".

Not sure what happened there, but it was the apostrophe in Can't so was probably some conversion malfunction.

 

I edited the post title and the issue is gone on my end.
