Hi, 

 

I was pointed (dear friend) to a site with a post done by the makers of the unofficial patches>>Arthmoor's post at AFK mods.

 

I found 2 mods so far and a possible 3rd but i think that one is somehow different. Should I (we) be removing these mods from our installs?

 

Mods Made Obsolete by the Unofficial Skyrim Patch

Distant Decal Fix (https://www.nexusmods...rim/mods/31982/) - Mesh fixes. Uninstall them through your mod manager. 

 

Mods Made Obsolete by the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch

Cultist Mask Decapitation Fix (https://www.nexusmods...yrim/mods/50447) - Mesh replacer. Uninstall via your mod manager. 

 

Another, but this one is not exactly the same as we use ...just checking...

Weapons and Armor Fixes (https://www.nexusmods...kyrim/mods/4719) - Weapons and Armor Fixes.esp 

 

That is one massive list  , am going to go over it again , but another pair of Eyes or 2 may spot more, especially since you guys are more familiar with what mods are actually in STEP...lol

 

ONLY reason i would be interested is ...Since STEP EXT + MY FAV mods,  i seem to have a problem staying under 254 Mods...hahahha TG for Wrye bash since it is hiding 5 or 6 mods for me.

 

SIDE Note,,,,switched over from a full Wrye Bash install, and started using MO...it rocks, Where would be a Good place to ask for improvements?...nothing major... a way to List the mods in Use...(not the CSV) but just mod list like Wrye bash. Also a way to see a count of how many mods are active? I can just keep popping back to Wrye and use the feature there.

 

So what do the masters think...remove first 2, leave third?

Mod Organizer is a good choice, and with its BSA management you might even see a few plugins (in the right pane) with a broom (?) icon indicating they are "dummies" and can be hidden saving you some more slots.

I've had good success with the TES5Edit 1.65 merge script, that has saved me many esp slots.

Remember when using this that you need to exit TES5Edit after creating the patch and then launch TES5Edit again loading the merged plugin and then selecting the eror check option (if you error check without closing & reopening TES5Edit it will not find errors).

Distant Decal has been discussed many times. It's not redundant and it's loaded before the USKP for that reason. It still has 20 non-conflicted files.

 

Cultist Mask do appear to be in the changelog (bug #11940); however, that they are not showing up on the conflicts tab has me wary that the fixed meshes are not, in fac,t in the UDBP. Investigation will have to be done.

 

All of Weapon and Armor Fixes isn't in the USKP either.

 

Tannin has a bug tracker where you can officially request features for MO: https://issue.tannin.eu/tbg/modorganizer/issues/open

Thanks for the Info,  So the Broom icon on those mods , i can disable the ESP.s ?..I am not extracting the BSA's...Mo is handling them. (I think) ...lol

I planed to go more reading about the merged scripts, had to learn DDSOpt first, (done) and play the game some, got to 254 mods and had to stop adding...hahah. But game is running sweet with a MO install..A copy of my Wrye install..actually used my save.

 

@ TechAngel85...my bad, sorry if this was a searchable topic..., looks like this is a wash, thought i free'd me a few slots...lol. Guess not. Can hold out hope for the Cultist mask...

Re- "broom" or  plugins you can deactivate in the right pane / hide in the left pane: click the BSA tab that shows the BSAs MO is managing for you & make sure the boxes by the plugins you want to lose are checked and you're good to go.

 

Re- merging: you can save a lot of slots (as you can see in that spoiler), but I'm not TES5Edit wizard so use at your own risk (but I've been having good luck so far).

 

Re- 302ci: I bastardized a 289 & a 327 to get 5 litres and dropped it in a 64 & 1/2 Nova post restoed from the frame up back in the late 80s, good times.

Looks like the USKP stuff was missing as well. This includeds:
 

For Dragonborn:

  • Cultist Masks
  • Chitin helmets - light and heavy
  • Bonemold helmets

 

For Skyrim:

  • Daedric helm
  • All Dragonpriest masks
  • Dwarven helmet
  • Imperial Fullfaced helmet
  • Stormcloak (guard helmets)
  • Execution Hood

The argonian decap fix files were in the USKP that just came out. I verified that myself before dropping the mod. Improved Closefaced Helmets has the fixes already applied if I'm not mistaken.

Wow..can a worms huh?...lol...looks like i caused a bunch of work for a few people...good in the long run. Again..i was pointed to this by a friend...So good call friend!.

 

 


Re- "broom" or  plugins you can deactivate in the right pane / hide in the left pane: click the BSA tab that shows the BSAs MO is managing for you & make sure the boxes by the plugins you want to lose are checked and you're good to go.

 

Ahh...yes all BSA's are ticked, So i can hide (left pane) then they wont even show on the >>right pane?,,,still all new to me but Mo rocks, so glad i started using it. It was because STEP uses it exclusively, so i gave in and let Wrye go...

 

I went to the Tracker site...i see a lot of thing that the team is working on,,,for now i will use Wrye to track amount , and List mods for me..

You're welcome darlin, anytime I can help out I give it a go!  Good to see they have been checked and rechecked and I now know they are needed.  Switching over to STEP 2.2.9 as we speak (using my brand new Chrome browser so I can get MO to work correctly, thank you Dan :D  )

I actually reported this issue on the USKP tracker back when that update was released and I noticed that the meshes were missing. :|
