Question

Posted

First: Thank you Sheson et. al for DynDOLOD.

I have been using for a while (prior versions) without issue by RTFM advise & some great YouTube video tutorials.
With the DynDOLOD 3 I thought I would upload and give an attempt.
No issues with TexGen. DynDOLOD stops on the Heljarchen Farm Revamped mod.
I know you cannot know my load order or what conflicts may exist. I am hoping you can translate the message below so I can look into learning more about the inner workings of modding.

Thanks,
Dag

I'm getting an Unresolved FormID error.

[00:16] Error: Unresolved FormID [1201A4FC] for large reference in DynDOLOD.esm for cell [-32,-1] in Large References for Skyrim.esm Tamriel "Skyrim" [WRLD:0000003C]

Loading everything up in xEdit, the FormID does not exist, the only thing at [-32,-1] in DynDOLOD.esm is a DynDOLOD_DiscipleMarker, so I'm honestly completely stumped here. Running check for errors in xEdit on Dyndolod.esm and .esp detects nothing. Only happens when I'm trying to update Dyndolod.esm, if it's just generated from scratch, there's no errors.

Read https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which entire log and debug log to upload when making posts.

The form ID 1201A4FC can not be found, because it does not exist anymore in the load order, hence the unresolved form ID error.
As the notes, it is listed in the large reference data of the Tamriel worldspace record.

The reference with that form ID was most likely deleted from the plugin that contained it after generating the LOD patch. You will have to generate a new LOD patch from scratch for the current load order. https://dyndolod.info/Updating

I have read that post and included the 3 logs it's asking to upload, unsure what the problem is there.

There was nothing altered in the load order between generating the Dyndolod plugins and trying to update them, was just testing grass LODs for the Tamriel worldspace, then wanted to generate Dyndolod for all the remaining worldspaces.

If there is an unresolved form ID reported by the xEdit error check in a DynDOLOD plugin after generating from scratch, then there is a bug or problem, that should be properly reporting by uploading the entire log and debug log from that generation. Starting/Closing DynDOLOD will replace the debug log. So make sure to use the xEdit error check and/or save the logs to a different location.

If there is no unresolved error reported by xEdit but by DynDOLOD, then also upload the entire xEdit log in addition to the 2nd set of the entire DynDOLOD logs.

Entire log means it starts with the first line "staring session" until the end.

Ah, sorry, must've cut something off at a wrong point. Some of these logs have millions of lines and data going back like 5+ years, so was hard to sift through. I'll rerun everything to get fresh logs (as some have since been replaced), and upload them if the issue still persists.

The normal log is appended to. However, it should only ever contain sessions from the current version if you follow installation/update instructions.

https://dyndolod.info/Installation-Instructions
Use 7-Zip to unpack the DynDOLOD Standalone archive into a new and empty 'DynDOLOD' directory that is outside of special OS folders like 'Programs Files' or 'Program Files (x86)', User, Documents, Desktop, Download and also not in SteamApps, game, Data or any mod manager folders. For example C:\Modding\DynDOLOD\.

Make sure xEdit shows the Large References listing on the worldspace record before checking for errors. Uncheck Hide Ignored and Hide "never shown" in the Options General tab.

The log archive is missing the DynDOLOD log and debug of the generation from scratch.

Generate DynDOLOD from scratch, save the debug log and log.
Check for errors with xEdit. If there is an unresolved error, upload the xEdit log with the DynDOLOD debug and log.
If no unresolved error is reported, start DynDOLOD. If it reports an unresolved error, upload the xEdit log, the saved DynDOLOD logs from generation and the new DynDOLOD logs showing the error.

Unrelated sidenote: Is there any way to get dyndolod to default into Save&Exit, or anything I can do if I exit without saving, or close the window before saving is done? Because this wasn't the first time my damn cat sat on my keyboard and cancelled it...

I've been trying to narrow it down by constantly re-generating new dyndolod, results so far are:

Entirely vanilla Skyrim with all AE content (and Dlod resources) - No error

All masters loaded for the dyndolod.esm I've sent you - error occurs (none of the masters are reporting any xedit errors either)

The "missing" reference is a tree in Lux Via.ESP. I could not make it happen with a small load order so far that has most of the master that are listed in DynDOLOD.esm.

I need to double check if there is a problem writing or reading the data only.

As long as there the same message with different form IDs it will most likely have the same cause.

If you get duplicate editor ID, I already fixed that for the next alpha.
