Potentially daft questions, but......

Recommended Posts

Hi all, hope everyone is well and safe in this current climate.  I also hope I'm in the right forum, if not please correct me.

I'm part way throught the STEP S.E guide and I have 2 questions if anyone can help. Firstly with the Cleaned Vanilla Masters and xEdit Output folders, do they need to be checked? I ask simply because it doesn't state in the guide so I'm (so far) presuming not to check them.

Secondly is the Overwrite folder. I have no idea what to do with the items in it, screen shot of the contents attached.

If anyone can point me in the right direction with either an answer or the part of the guide I've possibly missed I'd appreciate it.

Thank you and stay safe everyone.

Yes. All mods should be checked unless we've stated otherwise. Without checking the cleaned masters, you will not have those files in your game. Without checking xEdit Output, your files from xEdit (like cache) will keep getting put into the Overwrite folder.

The files in Overwrite should have been placed within your xEdit Output mod. Be sure you've placed the files in the output folder from the Tools Setup step: https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:0.2.0b#Tool_Setup
"Create files in mod instead of Overwrite : select the xEdit Output mod created above."

I updated the instructions a bit because that part was accidentally placed as "optional", when it shouldn't have been.

Starting a list for all the mods in the current STEP guide, which are in need to be updated (or already are) to work with the current game version 1.6.640. I'm listing only relevant mods in each category (please correct me if i missed anything).

      I'm using DynDOLOD Alpha99...
In the past I was able to get my distance grass colors more balanced, looking similar, now the farthest distance out is a greener color, then the rest of the grass.
Here's a screen shot of the grass I am referring to with red boxes around it, that appears greener than the rest...

      I'm using Complex Grass...
To balance the colors, is this just playing around the TexGen Direct/Ambient?
In DynDOLOD I've tried default settings and these settings for the complex grass.
