Help with editing a mod's .esp file? (Fallout 4)

lv4321

Question

Hi, I realize that a mod on the nexusforums is a little buggy and found that it can be fixed by tweaking its scripts in .esp. I have tried opening it up with notepad and wordpad but it all comes up with gibberish stuff. I recently installed the GECK, but don't know how to use it unfortunately. Any help would be appreciated...

The mod is here btw: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18447/?tab=files

Sorry, I don't know anything about scripting. I can make a suggestion of an alternate mod, Knockout Framework, that provides the same functionality and more.

Yeah I heard about that and planning to use that just in case anything goes wrong..BTW do you lose your quest items? And do your items permanently disappear with knockout framework if you don't get it soon enough?

I have not experienced it yet, but the mod description has you robbed and a quest is created to recover your items, though I do not know about the quest items.

[spoiler=Does this system also work on my character?]If your character is knocked out in a dangerous area, nearby enemies may rob him, depending on the value of the objects he has. Once dispossessed of his belongings, your character will wake up, almost dead, in the last bed he used in one of his settlements. A quest can then be followed to recover what has been stolen. All the process of this event is fully customizable from the MCM or the configuration holotape.
